@@jojo-dn7qb thanks so much!! I really love the way the blue catches the eye. What brand of guards are you running? I feel they are a MUST for every bike I own now- you just never know!
Looks great and definitely will help. I had my dealer install the HD Mustache engine guard on my 2023 before I took delivery. Was gonna go for the HD Flat Out bar but was afraid of being impaled by it in the chance of a crash…lol
@@aspen9062 thank you so much!! I was afraid it would make the Low Rider ST look goofy but I am very pleased with the look! The mustache engine guard is always a classic touch - you can’t go wrong with that! You were smart and got it installed before any chaos ensued 😂😂 - hopefully there won’t be any impaling in the future 😱
@@v4vader thanks so much brother! It’s really cool how you can customize with different color sliders. Nice to know they are easily switched out if I goof up (again). I wish I had prioritized these before I dropped my bike 😭. That’s awesome you’re only about an hour away from me here in Charlottesville bro! What color is your FXLRST? I love mine 😎🏍️🏍️
@ yeah I love the look of these and can’t wait to get them with bronze ends for myself! My ST is vivid black and I’ve done a handful to it so far. You’re not far at all and I hope to see you on the road sometime. I’ve still never seen another FXLRST on the road here. Just added you on IG 👊
Can't wait until you drop it again so we can see if it worked. J/K, of course. I put a Bung King on mine. It is a serious PITA if you don't take the time to clean/chase the threads. The factory uses so much lock-tite. I almost burst into flames(or broke down in tears) when I couldn't get my shift controls back on because of damaged threads. I had to take a deep breath, relax and get a 3/8-16 tap to clear the things up. Very nerve-wracking when you're dealing with the frame thread inserts. I'm not a doctor but it is very nice to have patience. BTW, the Bung King bar at least for me is too far forward to make it a comfortable highway peg for the legs. It works but not easy to put boots on at 80mph and not all that comfy either.
@@nhzxboi 😂😂😂 yes, can’t wait to have a real world test (good Lord I hope not) 😂😂 I looked at the Bung King too and I guess I was under the impression the OG Moto ones sat a little higher? I have yet to try to prop my feet on them for Highway cruising, I feel like with the stock air cleaner it may not be possible or at least it won’t be easy. Oh, and I know exactly what you mean about the frame thread. I actually broke my Craftsman 1/4 drive ratchet trying to bust loose one of the bolts on the left side that hold the foot peg. Sounds like the same bolt you were having trouble with. I swear I was going to strip the bolt but somehow I got it loose. This is why the install took me 3 freaking hours 🤬😤😤 -Appreciate you my brother!! 🏍️🏍️🤙
Get the correct size allen key and cut it down with a cut off wheel to fit into the space. Otherwise you’ll have to take the rear pipe off to get to it
You’re absolutely right! I wish I had posted this earlier lol. I actually tried to cut down the Allen key with a hacksaw and after over 30 minutes, I was barely making a dent in the hardened steel. Purchased a Dremmel tool and used the wheel just like you said. My first time with a Dremmel! Worked like a charm bro! Appreciate your solid advice! 🏍️🏍️🤙
@@revfree no problem man! Yeah dremmels are a game changer in a lot of situations. And all the different heads and attachments you can get for them is great! Glad you got it figured out!🤘🏼

that blue stands out nicley and love the look. I have a 2014 ultra and added motorcycle drop guards month's ago and it saved my bike
