Really good tips, didn't know about the Bob feature, that'll be very useful. How are you able to maintain level flight in this? I've flown all DCS Helicopters and can keep them level but the Chinook I'm finding quite an effort.
@@VRTrucker just keep trying - ensure the AFCS is on Auto and set keybinds for the trim up/down/left and right to trim it as required. I find I need to use a tiny bit of left rudder to keep it steady too throughout flight
@@BritishAvgeek I actually have the trim set but do I also need to set the AFCS trim to manual to actually make it work for me? It's probably a dumb question. I just haven't really felt a difference in auto vs manual in flight
@@BritishAvgeek I don’t believe trimming up, down, left or right has been implemented yet. Currently, all we have is the basic trim & BOB, luckily BOB works amazingly well. I’m unable to get her to maintain a constant altitude without the aid of BOB.
@@Tom-qf3mq correct but the point there is to think of trim so when they do implement it, I don't get told in the comments that I haven't trimmed the helo 😅
@@mr_an3uryzm967 I just about limped her home! Big frustration I've found with dcs is the fact you've got to get the troops really close for them to identify the enemy and head towards them, or they just sit there and do nothing. Almost like a no win scenario 😂
Thanks for showing the thurst on the mfd for the landing, so many people landing without that but doesn’t really give us an idea for the aircraft!
I used Bob for level flight at full speed with no problem
He works sometimes, I tried him at full speed at level flight over a mountain and he decided we were going to land 😂
@@shinysdcs1212 once or twice, likewise but it's a bit hit and miss - I find he's good at a slow flight about 45kts actually moreso than hover
@@Lonewolf23-26 😂😂 not ideal!

Lucky those Tracers didn't hit the engine when landing 6:32 ....The left sides a bit scarred in the last shot lol

How does the flight dynamic of the DCS's FM compare to the with MSFS's FM?
Pretty good - they're both alright but the DCS one is better
@@BritishAvgeek Thanks.
Are there rocket/gun load out for the "S#$t Hook"?
By thrust, do you mean the collective?
@@simracer1256 yes - but in the Chinook it's the "Thrust Control Lever" hence why I'm calling it thrust or TCL
I thought BOB was autopilot for level flight not an auto hover it stops working below 50knts.
@@stevie01159 it's WIP and seems to work well for me in hover or slow flight so who knows
