    On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
    If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    Always loved the A-10. When I was a teenager (mid 80's) a friend and I were walking down a rural road in Worcestershire, England when we saw two A-10s approaching at just a couple of hundred feet. We often saw both RAF and USAF aircraft as I believe it was on a training route, but it was the first time I had seen the A-10 outside of books. We both waved to the pilots not expecting them to see us but as they flew over us they gave us our own airshow by both criss-crossing the road we were walking down. It was an amazing moment; I was an air cadet at the time and loved flying and everything to do with aircraft.

I had previously only seen them in magazines. From that day on I loved them ❤. Very similar to you so much so I thought you was me 😂. Deja vu in anothers body ❤. My grandparents lived in a little village in Worcestershire called Feckenham and there is a small hill just beyond the village where we used to sit and watch fast jets skim the top along with the occasional Hercules. Mainly Tornados and Jaguars from what I remember. That was the only time I saw the A-10 apart from at an air show a few years later. • @dylanwight5764
      @dylanwight5764 3 місяці тому +25

      The A10C doesn't need too much to stay relevant. The airframe itself offers basically the perfect combination of payload, loiter time and survivability. The only significant changed the A10 needs is integrated HARM capability and an electronic warfare package which can be uploaded in the gun bay (since the gun is a self contained package designed to be hot swapped during reload and refuel procedures, why not manufacture an EAW/ECM package that can be installed in the same manner?)
      Also, engines. The Hog absolutely needs better engines. We have the technology and we have the reason. Apparently what the USAF lacks is the willpower to admit the Army needs its own fixed wing CAS platform capable of fighting _more_ than just assymetrical insurgents.

    Man, GS, you really wiped out that convoy, the enemy base, and even scored an air to air kill. The enemy troops in that convoy never knew what hit them. Great video, as always, GS.

    On the A-10 being slow; after WW2 they recognized that a slower, heavily armed and armoured plane made for a much better ground attack fighter than a much faster, more agile plane. That went into the development of the A-10 "Thunderbolt II", aptly named after one of the best ground attack fighters in WW2, the P-47 Thunderbolt.

    The A10 is one good reason air superiority is so important. If you don't achieve air supremacy over the battlefield, aircraft such as this close fire support aircraft will give you hell.
    This vid reminds me of the Iraqi pullout from Kuwait. Nice and messy.

    The A-10 is a beast because it's slow it's like a helicopter with a bit more speed. You wouldn't be able to do half the shit you can do if it was faster. Go the slow A-10, absolutely weapon. Sounds and looks amazing.
