Sometimes I feel lucky to live in Italy, where stationary stores like these are no where to be found. My bank account and self control would suffer too much with so many goodies in front of my eyes 😂

If you’re ever back in the Bay Area, I’d suggest checking out San Jose’s Maido in Santana Row. It’s a different vibe than the SF store and feels a little more put together imo because they’re up against a bunch of high-end shops lol. The Kinokuniya down in SJ is solid too, but much smaller than the SF store and is about half stationary and half bookstore.
With piston fill pens, twisting the knob at the top open slightly, helps with the flow when you are writing. Make sure to twist it closed when done. When the knob is closed, these pens are excellent on the plane. Also, rinsing off the nib may help.
Try flushing it out. Sometimes, there are oils in nib/feed that can also hinder ink flow. Check the tines and make sure they’re aligned properly! Otherwise, if those things don’t work, I would suggest reaching out to the pen company. You shouldn’t need to do anything to the nib right out of the box, so they should write nicely.

I’m still looking for that yellow twsbi pen! Let me know if you see it anywhere. And haha I’m on the same quest to get all the opaque twsbis. I still need the yellow and the coral. I spent quite a bit to get my hands on some of the limited editions
The Narwhal pens are piston fillers so you may need to open up the piston nob at the top of your pen. By the way the company has changed the name to Nahvalur. Also, good to have those brass shims on hand- verry easy to use and will definitely sort out flow issues in a pen- little tip- go slow and watch some Goulet videos first.

Is it a vacuum fill or piston filler, because you only need to open the knob with vacuum fillers cause those knobs actually seal the ink away from the feed. (I just skimmed comments.) Not sure about the ink but if it's a shimmer ink (or even a sheening ink) it might clog your feed. If you don't have it yet, get Diamine Writer's Blood to use with pens you're not sure whether they work properly or not. This is is known to be extremely wet and by using it you can troubleshoot. If the pen works great with Writer's Blood.- it was an ink issue. If it still gives you trouble - contacting the company if that's an option (before flossing) would be the next step. Flossing might void the warranty.
Also: Isn't toasty the pen expert?!

What a lovely idea to make a shopping journal! I’ve never seen that idea before. I live in the UK so I’m going to research and see if we have any cool stationery stores to put on my bucket list. Do you use a mini printer for your photos? If so - which do you use?
I'm really surprised you're having trouble with the Narwhal pen, I have four of that model and they're all really reliable. I'd suggest giving it a good flush out and then maybe try a wetter ink before trying to do anything with the nib.
