I'm a flight attendant that finds himself burned out on travel and the industry from time to time. I come here to remind myself of the things I love about aviation. Thank you Alex.
I hear you about our airline industry for us crew members. I felt thst way until I went Hawaii. Kona and Kauai are beautiful islands.😊 Maui is gorgeous as well.😊
I really appreciate the little island tour you gave despite being an aviation channel, it's great to learn what a place like St. Maarten really has to offer! You should keep up on those tours wherever your travels may take you :) Congrats on your well deserved 100K, Alex!
I was bitten by the aviation bug when I was a very small boy. I got my pilot license at 16 and never stopped flying since then. I like your no nonsense style of making these flight videos. And now you are pushing almost 200k subscribers. Well done Alex.
I really hope you make it there one day it is 100 percent worth the trip, I’ve been visiting once a year since birth. It’s like a second home to me. I hope if you ever make it that it treats you well.
Congratulations, Alex, on getting to this amazing milestone. Happy to be one of the 100K and to see your trip report to St. Maarten. What a great way to celebrate.
Glad you got to make this trip. I really enjoyed my stay there many years ago. We rented a car and hit every beach there during one week. The jet blast at that beach is no joke, saw a few people who were standing at the fence get blasted onto the road. I think that's why they put that mini fence in front of it now.
That’s awesome Alex! Shame KLM doesn’t send their B747’s there anymore, I was there when I was young and I still remember the massive B747 flying right above my head.
Let me get this straight: I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone who deserves that 100k more than you do. Since I first started my aviation photography journey you have been the main person I have looked up to, and after 3 years, I still do. Meeting you is an absolute honour and I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. Congrats on 100K Alex, I can’t wait to see what’s next 🫡
100,000 subscribers is an impressive achievement. Congratulations. Prior to my retirement, I flew into several airports around the Caribbean but never Ste. Maarten - until now. I always enjoy your (enthusiastic but) relaxed, and informative narration. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on 100K Alex! My wife and I have visited St Martin many times, we stay on the French side and just love it! Thanks for this video, glad you enjoyed !
at 14:44, there is a really rare find. I saw a qatar airways and was confused as I had never saw a route from doha to sint maarten. I was even more confused when I saw it was an 140 when those were retired a while ago. I looked it up, and saw it was for the Qatar Amiri Flight which is an airline for qatari government officials. So yeah, that's really rare and the only time it has ever flown into sint maarten.
6:53 I feel that.. as someone who use to travel down to the Caribbean for work from Toronto multiple times a year prayed they AC would switch to the A220/C-Series...
Been here 2 times in the last two years. A beautiful island, kind people, and I spent all 14 days swimming, and plane spotting (while swimming) at Maho.
Make sure you bring a "bucket" of cash with you. It looks like a little island. While it is not a typical tax heaven, it still offers lots of tax advantages for certain industries. The number of private planes you have seen belong to people who come to the island "for business purposes" and they do have the money to stay in Hotels that exceed what ordinary people can afford. Same with Restaurants. You can find reasonable prices but you have to be careful where you sit down.
It's great for sure, went several times as a kid, however the last time I went was back in 2019, it'd been a decade since, we always would connect to st barths
We were suppose to go to Saint Martin in 2 weeks and my wife has a medical issue so we cant go and our friends are going still i am going to show them this video because we are alsostaying at Sonesta Great Video Alex and we will get there some day soon
I felt what you said about it being the trip of a lifetime, mostly for an avgeek, thank you for sharing with us your adventures, always looking forward the next one!
Congratulations on 100k! This is one of my favourite channels on yt! I absolutely love plane spotting. Congratulations from your neighbouring province of Saskatchewan!
Grats on the 100 thousand, thats really rad, and thanks for sharing this little celebration with us. Heres hoping your next milestone and exciting trip come just as fast is not faster!
I first started flying there in 1988 as a DC-10-30 flight engineer. Back then we had 36 hour layovers and it was lovely. My first landing there was at night and it was a bit spooky. Over the course of years, the equipment changed, and the layovers grew shorter, but it was always fun. I finished my career flying to St Maarten as a 757 captain and that beautiful machine was just made for going in and out of there.
Wow, what a treat! You guys in North America and Europe are so lucky to have so many cool destinations nearby. Here in Australia, it seems like we are often a million miles from anywhere.
Congratulations on 100,000 subs! I love watching your videos. I just got back from a trip from Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I stayed at an all inclusive as well, and it was awesome. Our approach into Montego Bay airport was one of the coolest in my life. Caribbean airports are awesome. Keep up the great work!
Went there in june 2023 for honeymoon. Was lovely. We did our island tour via ATV that was a great experience. Even went to the highest point on the island.
One of the best trip reviews I've seen from St. Maarten. You really did it justice, I went back in 2022 and it was one of the most amazing places I've ever visited. When the Air France A330 departs west it's hilariously loud and I got a kick out of hearing all the car alarms going off!
Great work!!! My 1st time was back in 2019. That beach was a bucket list one I’m glad I was able to tick off! I think you have one of the best aviation/aircraft channel on this platform!! ✌️👍
What a difference between the "happy" flight and the "sad" flight. My heart went out to you when you landed at cold, dark, cloudy, snowy, icy Toronto. Getting to SXM is a top 3 item on my bucket list. Can't wait to go.
First, I gotta say congrats on the 100K. Second, thanks for sharing this awesome vacation you had in St. Maarten! Looking forward to the full spotting vid as well.
Thanks for uploading. I did a eerily similar trip the following november. Stayed in the same hotel, visited all the same places, I saw TNCM hundreds of times as a child too. 2008 era. It was so nice to see all of this again because it was incredibly sad to leave. Next time you go, hike up the main mountain Peak Paradise. One of my favorite pictures looking down at the french side.
Congrats to 100000k! And if someone should get it it was you, all your videos are amazing not just for the fun off watching them but also for the sheer interest you show for them, this channel wouldn’t have been like this with someone else, and I thank you for all these years off content. And I hope there will be many more to come.
French side to the north and Dutch side to the south. So an upside down Belgium surrounded by water. This island just rocketed up my future travels list.
Our cruise in Feb 2023 went through Sint Maarten and we spent the day at the Sonesta and Maho Beach. Even for a day, it was awesome! Sint Maarten really is an amazing destination and I can't wait to go back. Congrats on 100k!
Another great video, thanks Alex! Your video is the first one I have seen of St. Martin that showed more of the island than just the airport arrivals and departures!. I would love to visit someday, but we will see!!! Take care and stay safe!!!!
I enjoyed looking at this video it reminded me of my days growing up as a little boy on the neighbouring island of Anguilla and visiting St, Maarten very often .This video is a job well done.
Love when the recommendations work in a 'you shall book this' kind of way. Looking at doing the rather longer journey from Brisbane, Australia to Sint Maarten via DFW and MIA (or CLT) in 2026 at this stage. Cannot wait !!!!!
Was very surprised to learn that there is only one a380 service in Canada, especially given how many we get here in Australia beyond Qantas. Great video and congrats on 100k! Edit: for those interested off the top of my head its Qantas, Qatar, Emirates, Asiana and Singapore with rumors that Etihad will start flying them to Sydney again in the next year or so
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers Alex! Very well deserved. The trip to Sint Maarten would be the perfect avgeek holiday. I visited the island in 2013 on a Caribbean cruise and would love to return. We had a great tour guide that day, who took us to Maho Beach among many other places. I was one of the few people on the tour who knew about it as I had been watching the KLM 747s coming and going on UA-cam.
Now now, don’t be hating on Air Canada Rouge lol. The new refurbished cabin on their 321’s and 320’s isn’t bad at all, plus the Max’s are heading to Rouge soon
Always love to see your videos, but this one was a special treat asyou visited my home "town". Could you imagine in the late 80s maho beach use to be completely deserted. So my friend and I had the approaches of DC8s,9s,10s L1011 and the incensing on the cake the Panam 747sp all to ourselves 😊
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers (including me)! St Maarten is a place l would dearly love to visit.Watching your video was how l expected the place to be.Definitely high on my list to visit❤️👍!

I'm glad you were able to make it to Sint Maarten. It's an amazing island. I went there last year March to visit my Aunt who lives there. I would definitely go back again.
“Local time is… who cares, it’s vacation time!” I love that 😂😂
My thoughts exactly! What a nice touch.
Imagine the whole crew get a whole week paid layover there😂
That was nice, but passengers didn't pass the vibe
Rough timestamp: 12:06 .
I'm a flight attendant that finds himself burned out on travel and the industry from time to time. I come here to remind myself of the things I love about aviation. Thank you Alex.
I hear you about our airline industry for us crew members. I felt thst way until I went Hawaii. Kona and Kauai are beautiful islands.😊 Maui is gorgeous as well.😊
Try to find an explanation and describe that mystery that drives us to do things that we simply have to do - its called "passion".
Yes, being in Hawaii or being in the Caribbean is soo nice. Yes, the passion of the life in those paradise island places.😊
Thank you for taking care of us on our flights, I truly appreciate you souch😊❤❤
Tough job. Real men become flight attendants.
My dad’s a pilot for Air Canada and a few years ago my family was able to watch on a livestream as he landed at St. Maarten
“Pearson purgatory” …no truer words have been spoken 😂… and congratulations for your UA-cam success 🎉
I really appreciate the little island tour you gave despite being an aviation channel, it's great to learn what a place like St. Maarten really has to offer! You should keep up on those tours wherever your travels may take you :) Congrats on your well deserved 100K, Alex!

Man, didn't every avgeek see those 480p videos back in the day... what a memorable trip!
In my case, even at 244p resolution, as strange as it may seem.
This particular 737 has not only been to St. Maarten, but also London UK a handful of times. It's definitely well traveled already...
I was bitten by the aviation bug when I was a very small boy. I got my pilot license at 16 and never stopped flying since then. I like your no nonsense style of making these flight videos. And now you are pushing almost 200k subscribers. Well done Alex.
I always thought of you as the Bob Ross of aviation because of your calming voice
Also congrats on 100k!
St Maarten is 100% on my travel list for both aviation and vacation reasons 🔥
I really hope you make it there one day it is 100 percent worth the trip, I’ve been visiting once a year since birth. It’s like a second home to me. I hope if you ever make it that it treats you well.
Well deserved 100K, congrats. Great vlog!
Congrats on 100k Alex! What a way to celebrate!
I miss your videos. I hope you are doing great. 😊
Gotta say something. On the aircraft you went back to calgary, thats the same aircraft i flew on to CYUL from MDPC on march 19th i was in row 36!
Congratulations, Alex, on getting to this amazing milestone. Happy to be one of the 100K and to see your trip report to St. Maarten. What a great way to celebrate.
The water looks divine!

Yeah, me too.
The economy is on the down side, not enough passengers to fill the massive KLM bird.
Awesome.
Thank you! 👍

Congrats on 100K man! Looking forward to the video with all the goodness you filmed on St. Maarten.

What's amazing is that the French/Dutch maintain two independent power grids. 120/60Hz on the Dutch side, 230/50Hz on the French side
Not even rotary interconnections?
