While filming our 2023 450 Shootout at Glen Helen Raceway we ran into Marvin Musquin doing some testing on the all new 2023 KTM 300SX Two Stroke with fuel injection and electric start. We were busy all day so we didn't get a whole lot of footage of him riding. Regardless, we wanted to share with our viewers. It's rare that you see a pro at Marvin's level ride anything other than a full blown factory bike especially in December. We hope you enjoy this short video of one of the fastest in the sport riding a brand new two stroke at Glen Helen Raceway.

In the outdoors it could make some privateers pretty happy. Not sure the same could be said for SX with how big the triples out of corners are.

MARV!!!! You gotta get a decent group of fellow competitors and get AMA to rewrite the displacement rule. Allow 300+ smokers tricked to the gills with 450s and 250 smokers with 250fs and have 125 class of its own with a max bore of 150
The OEM’s virtually dictate every move the AMA makes, including the financial windfall that four stroke’s were for them.
@@stephenmitchum5864 5-10 people from each oem and being top 10 riders come together even if they don’t race em just to have the option for sure is the move 💪🏽

Marvin can ride any size bike and make it go fast. 2 or 4 stroke.

@@lennartdiedrich2734 For the record I'm not actually trying to cause a fight when I ask this question. I'm legitimately curious if you've ridden the 300SX or any 300 tuned/geared more for supercorss? These things are torque monsters. This thing is built to build power early and fast right off the showroom floor. I'd definitely argue it's a better supercross platform than a 350 four stroke, which revs to the moon and back to find peak power. Don't get me wrong, I love the low end grunt of my 450s but this 300 could really shake things up if AMA changes their rules.

Stock. He has been helping with KTM R&D team on new bikes. Could be a 2024 bike hes testing

No. It's probably one of the least liked tracks tbh. Only older guys seem to love it. In SoCal we got GH, Cahuilla Creek, Fox aka Pala, Elsinore, Perris, Barona Oaks, LACR, Cal City, then further away u get Mammoth once a year, Hangtown up north and a bunch of tracks I don't know of and a bunch tracks that closed down over years like Mikestone and State Fair, Saddleback, Escape country..

Herlings on a 350sx 2t vs Tomac on a 450 4t. Maybe some manufacturers wont like it if the 350 comes out on top (because money, right?), but fccckit. Do it anyway. lol

How did 4 strokes ruin recreational riding?? 4 strokes were "the recreational" bike long before Yamaha pressed them into moto and SX.

The 300sx makes 57hp the 450 54hp now that is fair race.
why wont ama allow 300 2 strokes race pro events ? too much power ? ( not as much as their 450s ) mx and sx has become too much politics and money - not enough about racing !!!! Remember when 550 4 strokes raced against 250 2 strokes ? that was fair but now you cant race a 300 2 stroke ??? I race my 92 KTM 500 in vet class against everything from 600cc plus moded XR 600s to ktm 150s and everything in between !!!! I dont complain about huge bored 4 strokes
