I absolutely love Phyllotactic Spiral, with 2039 Crucible kills at the moment I can't put this thing down. The nanotech rocket has managed to claim some collateral kills on grouped weakened enemies around a corner.
I crafted mine with the same roll enhanced traits and made the swap to fluted over the initial arrowhead for the handling. I didn’t notice range problems with the keep away and it didn’t matter when they’re within range but I might try the hammer forged and see how larger maps go.
Got my dream general use roll right off the rip. Keep Away + Voltshot is a great combo for running low-stress PvE, and great for sweating it out in Lost Sectors. I get champ coverage and good add clear from range, very facilitative gameplay-wise. I usually don't like how high impacts feel, so I'm learning the feel of it.
I was rather surprised at the rather mid reception this weapon got when it's basically Legendary No Time To Explain but in the energy slot, especially with the origin trait giving you a "mini win condition" to help you out if a fight drags on. I think the origin trait on Neomuna weapons in general doesn't get enough credit for that matter for what's essentially free damage just for shooting at things.

I understand why people are thinking about a day when zoom gets decoupled from range, but I keep hearing about it and I'm worried everyone's going a little overboard. Just because they said they were investigating decoupling the two, that doesn't mean they're going to completely remove the correlation. They may leave some range boost with increased zoom. They may give weapons or perks that had high zoom a range bump (after all, they designed those weapons to be high range, right?). They may decide not to make the change at all! (Although let's be clear, I think they will and should.) Or maybe not for another year! I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves. Not necessarily in this video, but just in general.
This was the second one I had crafted. Got the new arc fusion crafted in the first 3-4 days of Lightfall and had this crated within a week of Lightfall’s release. This is definitely a must have Pulse!! Great in PvP and PvE!! The stasis wave frame took me the longest to get. Finally got my 5th like two weeks ago. Just need 2 more red boarders for the raid trace and sidearm and I have all the guns in the game crafted.
Running this with keep away/voltshot on my arc hunter has been a lot of fun. Once you get the first kill and proc Voltshot, you can become amplified pretty easy. Amplified + Keep Away = Fast reloads to keep proccing Voltshot with. Whenever I get the pattern I will probably swap keep away for compulsive, but it's been fun for now.
Welcome back, CG! I just got my last red border a few days ago. Now I need to level it (ugh) and find the best version for me. Personally, I've been rocking a Trustee with Reconstruction and Eye of the Storm for ranged encounters in PvP. It has a nice open sight, almost no flinch, and surprises a lot of people.
My first ever adept weapon was a Messenger with Zen Moment and Headseeker. Didn’t use it for years but, like most Destiny players, I kept it in the vault, until this season. How my friends laughed with their Desperado rolls. Well, whose laughing now 😊
My zen moment headseeker messenger beams, it’s amazing. Constant 2 bursts. I’ve been accused of cheating a few times. I was in a game with coolguy while he was using the spiral. I won most of the duels. Jinglehymer quit out of that match. Maybe he got error coded.
Ive been rocking phylo's old void cousin - premonition. Arrowhead/Ricochet/Moving Target/Headseeker, can 2 burst reliable as well. I like how lore-wise the implications theyre the same cause both from the Ishtar collective
Frenzy is such a hard to get going and keep up unless you’re super in the the thick of it. Which idk if you want to be doing that with a high impact pulse all the time
If you really wanted to I’d make 2 rolls. Frenzy for 6s because it may be easier to keep up if the maps right. But for duels and 3v3 I’d grab headseeker.
With any other archetype I'd argue there's a play with it, but most of you're engagement will be at range, think of frenzy like threat detector, I'd rather use it on smgs,600-720 auto's and a few rapid fire pulses with better hipfire capabilities
Never use frenzy dude. That's a C class perk! I know frenzy sounds like a good perk, but if you want to have a hard time in the crucible put frenzy on your gun!
I looked at the description of rangefinder, “increases range and zoom magnification…” meaning that it will still grant a range bonus for using the perk however it will probably be changed to be different than it is rn.
Rangefinder adds zero range to the range stat. Only zoom stat change. This is a clear case where bungie has issues communicating with the player base. When they say increases range and zoom, all they mean is the extra zoom that they're getting is increasing your range!
@@TaureanSmoke I understand thats how they programmed it, however the description states that it increases range AND zoom. Not just one. So at most the nerf would be a nerf to how much range is provided, aka they can more finely tune it to whatever they want.
@@vulkarma741 I know that's the problem. Bungie should be more clear. The perk should only state that it increases zoom only! Because in game that's all it does. If they are stating that it gives more range, it should state that you get more range because your guns specifically has more zoom. And it should also state that zoom and range are two different stats! But I think they're going to nerf the equivalency of rangefinder vs range. As of now, from what I'm aware of, 10 range is equivalent to having rangefinder on your gun, So I'm guessing they're going to Nerf that maybe making rangefinder equivalent to having 5 range on your gun 🤷🏾♂️!
@@TaureanSmoke yes…? But they could nerf it so that it gives you 5 to 10% more range eg on a sidearm it gives 1 extra meter, and handcannons get 3 to 3.5 extra meters of rannge.
welcome back! appreciate the vids as always. I'm starting to lean away from the perfect 100 recoil direction. I found than anything above 85 is generally good enough for my skill bracket. so i ran with Corkscrew to bump the handling ever so slightly and i also chose a stability MW. Might swap for a range one just to see how it feels.
The default craftable roll convinced me get two of these, because harmony is so much fun with rain of fire for pve, no enemy stands a chance against a high impact with two stacking damage buffs that also shots mini rockets for extra damage.
An underrated use of tracer rockets is they snitch on people waiting behind corners. If you secure a kill and the rocket curves hard left or right into the wall someone is probably there

Glad you're back! I got a keep away/headseeker roll to drop in the wild the other day. My crafted one is for pve. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
So I haven't gotten my red borders for this yet. But I was actually considering crafting this based on a problem I've noticed in the crucible: snipers are elite. I want to practice more. However on certain Trials maps I notice it's hard to pair a sniper with something like an SMG. I use my two sniper shots and then I'm left with just an SMG on a longer ranged map. Now I know I could quick swap off sniper, but I'd rather not. So I've been looking at longer range weapons that pair with snipers. BXR Battler is up there. But I was actually thinking of going hip-fire grip, headseeker and building into range and airborne effectiveness if possible. I know it'd make it a much less consistent pulse, especially at range, but the goal is to have something excelling in mid range that can add some value to closer range fights if I need it. The base time to kill of high impacts means it has a certain skill ceiling. Excited to finally craft.
Got this thing crafted and upgraded asap. It is really good, but I still prefer Stars In Shadow with Surplus and Headseeker. Surplus does more for me personally and that handling boost is way to good to pass up. If they ever add a craftable high impact with enhanced Surplus it will be all over
The first time I used this pulse rifle in pvp, I was getting connecting triple kills a few times in a match. The traits it dropped with was under over and volt shot, and surprisingly works quite good both in pvp and pve. So when I finally could craft it, I slotted the enhanced versions of these very traits and made the weapon even better! Under over and volt shot wrecks barrier champs! The only thing I don't like about this weapon is that it shoots a bit slower and handling is on the sluggish side as well. Edit: On PC gameplay here, the weapon actually seems more agile in terms of handling and much less vertical recoil than on console.
Just an FYI, multiple targeting mods no longer stack the accuracy cone and ADS speed multiplier. They simply scale aim assist by 5|8|10 and have a flat multiplier for cone and ADS, so really you just need 1 arc targeting
if anyone is havving trouble getting red bordors, load a terminal then find a herioc patrol, there is 3 possible spawns in each area, you get a for sure neomuna legendary gun everytime you complete a herioc, i got almost all red borders in like a week, of course though if you see a terminal then do it real quick if its almost done or is already done because you get keys alot for doing this too, if you have a friend he can look also and just join up on him or you if you guys find one, Good luck!
0:08 bug: strand aerial dash should always prioritise over the strand charged melee. Especially if the visual effects and icon for the aerial dash are visible. The workaround is to set two different buttons for both charged and uncharged melee. The thing is, there aren't that many buttons on controller to begin.. Having two dedicated buttons for melee on controller is nonsense
I have mine basically the same way you ended up but I used smallbore for the bump in range and stability. 95 recoil with counterbalance stock is close enough for me
CoolGuy I feel like you should do another look into the Syncopation Pulse with the Changes to both Zen Moment and Headseeker. I just crafted one about a week ago and it feels amazing with the changes. I'm gonna have to craft this Pulse and test against Syncopation to see if it feels as good.
That pulse is amazing but take Zen moment off and put on moving target. That rifle which is my main rifle is so damn accurate. Zen moment is useless on it. I know a lot of UA-camrs are saying use zen moment with head seeker but the much better role is moving target with head seeker because moving target directly compliments head seeker. Plus with moving target, you yourself are harder to shoot because you're strafing faster which only makes the post rifle better with head seeker. Because now you have two perks literally vacuuming straight to the head. Instead of zen moment just faking like it's giving you more stability that you don't need!
Interesting to see you compare this one to The Messenger so favourably. I personally can't get any two tap consistency out of it at all, even with the supposed accuracy benefits from enhanced keep away and the extra forgiveness from headseeker. Comparitively, the rapid hit/headseeker Messenger roll I main is two tapping around 80% of the time at 41 plus meters.
My First Neptune gun I crafted! Small bore Ricochet Enhanced Keep Away & Headseeker Stability MW Counterbalance mod Photo finish shader looks good! Play on Ps4 Feels great, lot of reticle pull, decent bullet magnetism (bullet bending)...
Just a PSA you get this is one of the three weapons you get 1 guaranteed red border of at set parts of the campaign on EACH character(the other 2 Neomuna craftables you can get from the "from zero..." and "...to hero" quests ). If RNG hates you trying speedrunning the campaign on your alts for 2 guaranteed redborders.
My Phyllotactic Spiral has that starting roll you tried with enhanced perks (that is, Arrowhead Brake). It’s a dream to use, though I may try Extended Barrel now. 🤔 I very much enjoy giving this Pulse an impactful 19% more Aim Assist just by equipping Targeting Adjuster, but if the extra 10 Range is that important for certain lanes, I’d rather that than making it more forgiving.
I got the red borders ages ago, but haven’t crafted it. Pulses are my most used weapon type on M&K, but between the stability and recoil nerfs I hate the way they feel now. Even my 84 stability Rapid Hit Messenger feels terrible. D2s draw is how good the weapons feel yet one by one Bungie ruins the feel of them. Same with bows, to fix Le Monarque hot swapping they nerfed the stow speed on all bows, so they feel much worse.
I to tried a number of rolls, with the goal of it being a NTTE clone. The issue I kept encountering was due to the poor handling, it was to clunky at strafe shooting & peak shotting. I landed on fluted barrel, rico rounds, enhanced keep away, enhanced elemental capacitor(as stasis revenant hunter), handling MW, targeting adjuster weapon mod, 2x arc targeting mods, 1x arc dex mods. Maybe I am weird in valuing strafe shooting/peak shoting so much, but with these perk choices the gun is indeed an exact clone of NTTE. I also use stompees so combined with enhanced elemental capacitor, think a titan on PK but with a pulse on a hunter.
I used my first deepsight harmonizer to finish crafting this, specifically for PvE for voltshot. Previously dark decider was my go-to for a voltshot build but this thing smacks hard.
Almost got a perfect new Purpose to drop the other day, just missing ricochet, these high impacts are so satisfying when you hit all you're shots, there's no peaking them when you're on point
This is an amazing pulse rifle. Would love to get a 5/5 premonition with zen moment and headseeker for Gyrfalcon's hunter builds. Phylotactic spiral has better stats all around and can be crafted. Zen moment and headseeker combo, though, is interesting...
I have the pattern unlocked but am lagging behind on crafting one. Still using Autumn Wind in PvP and it's decent. Vig Wing got a buff so thinking about giving it a little time in the sun again.
Headseeker is cool but i'm more of a Killclip guy, and Voltshot is like getting your favorite drink in a brand new flavor... the micro-rockets can proc while reloading and can jolt targets before before your first shot ... and Jolting a player is pretty much a death sentence just by the added flinch and damge they are getting
Had to do mine with fluted barrel, ricochet, enhanced keep away and head seeker. The handling was abysmal, fluted feels essential. Got me my first solo flawless this season though! Bow week :’(
I main PvE but I like using it in PvP aswell so I went with the best in between: Arrowhead, Riccochet, Keep Away, Voltshot, Stability MW. Voltshot is surprisingly good in 6v6!
I crafted mine the same but I leaned more towards handling and it makes it snapper. I did the same on my round robin. I look at it as I’d rather be more agile then sitting in one place
I was playing pvp on vostok and I kept getting wrecked by one player with a great roll of this. I made it my job to grind out the red boarders, took me about 10 hours to get the remaining red boarders but I'm glad I did. I don't usually do PVP but this gun makes it a lot of fun.
I knew this gun was going to be something special when Lightfall dropped and I wasn’t disappointed. I was always a Messenger Adept user in Trials and 3v3 and crafting this opened up a world of loadout options being able to have a strong High Impact Pulse in the Energy Slot. I run it almost exclusively with a Stasis Fusion or my Immortal Adept. I opted for Smallbore, Ricochet Rounds, Enh Keep Away, Enh Headseeker and Stability MW and it duels like it has EotS. It’s a monster.
Headseaker nasty. Kill clip is straight filthy and the entry kill is still easy get. I have an adept messenger with killing wind kill clip and that made any engagement at stupid ranges not even close.
Been really good to me. I finally got it crafted up to basic perks, and I'm trying out your roll atm. It's been doing well for me, but I use witherhoard in my kinetic slot which does leave me kinda boned when people close in.
You should try polygonal + flared mag, you’ll lose on some range but stability > recoil recoil reduction. Arrowhead brake is only good if you’re not getting shot at, but you can reduce your flinch massively by getting high stability on some other barrel perks. I’ll break any weapon that doesn’t have fluted, arrowhead, poly or extended because in almost every scenario you want stability or handling
With the rangefinder nerf coming soon, a gun people should be looking out for is actually Chattering Bone. Currently it can roll opening shot in the third column and headseeker in the fourth. I have an opening shot rampage roll, and you can def feel opening shot nabbing headshots.
I want to love it like other people do, but to me, even with a perfect roll, I find it to have an odd inconsistency that other high impacts don't have. For me, I will take Messenger or Stars in Shadow over this thing every day. See True Vanguard's review of it as well, he also finds it inconsistent
I went the fluted barrel way. Messenger feels kinda sluggish against a 50 handling Spiral. Still got 38 m range. Feels like Ophidians for free. Lvl 94 and going.
I crafted it with enhanced keep / head but to be honest after running my stars n shadows with surplus / headseeker on strand with all the melee charges on top of grenade and class abilities its night and day difference. Stability handling and reload if not maxed are in the 80s nearly all the time. Its kinda sick.
I believe you can can also get red boarder drops from the weekly mission. I got my last red boarder drop of this while finishing a legend or master one. not sure how good the drop rates are, but it worked for me.
I made one with reload masterwork, compulsive reloader and Voltshot, but I feel I could not get it to work. I ran it through about 5 of the seasonal activity and it felt like I just absolutely could not get Voltshot to trigger
I've got mine with enhanced keep away and joltshot for pve, more of a high-end kit. Unfortunately, the jolt damage is kind of underwhelming compared to other weapons for some reason, but it's still very good
Got over 500 kills this week In trials with it, enhanced head and Keep away are amazing on it, only problem with it is, it just doesn't have the base stats to compete with messenger, different slots of course. But it's a great weapon.
I was super excited by this gun, but felt a bit underwhelmed. You are right, though: a few perks swapped around to push out the range and it's so good! Also, wow... Enhanced Keepaway is noticeably better! Thanks for the heads up.
I got all my patterns for this gun while farming for iterative loop/round robin, so knowing that this gun isn't complete ass eases the pain of spending roughly 7 hours farming in liming harbor and still not getting the pattern for either IL or RR
I went Fluted with a handling MW, so I'm lacking on the range department, but I love this weapon. It's become my go-to for crucible. I might switch out the handling MW for a range MW instead to get it a bit tighter and help with aim assist, but I really do love this thing.
I was using one with Keep Away/Elemental Capacitor that was fun... crafted with Headseeker instead and I started doing worse with it somehow. Like the bullets just didn't want to land properly and AA just didnt kick in. Might be because connections have been bad. Think I need more range. With Elemental Capacitor and Arc it was extremely snappy. Even ran some double primaries with this and Immortal/Peacekeepers and Phyllo... could swap between them instantly.
I’m glad videos like this exist. Lmao. Been going against people using this all day due to multiple content creators singing it’s praises lately. Quick and easy kills using literally anything. BXR outduels this gun. SMGs destroy people using this gun. 180 HCs obliterate people using this gun. And I don’t even use crafted guns, because what kind of loser has time for that? I actually don't think this pulse is anything on a messenger, but it's still good I used this all weekend on Immortal weekend (Jav 4), played like 150 games in the flawless pool with it. Imo it needs as much stability as possible. The range is okay, and you don't need recoil direction on the barrel because just with counterbalance you're at 95. But to consistently 2 burst, on controller at least, this thing needs more stability. So mine is Smallbore, Ricochet, Keep Away, Headseeker, Stability Masterwork. I think Rapid Hit is just so important on these pulses, and any Rapid Hit Messenger just destroys this gun. If you can't consistently hit the 2 burst, I don't think this gun is worth running - I actually prefer 390s for this reason as they are way more consistent - Last Perdition in this slot, Syncopation in the top slot.
something about this gun feels off. The messenger is a literal laserbeam even with less than 100 recoil direction. This gun at 100 recoil direction still bounces upward a lot more than messenger. maybe i just havnt used it enough to get used to it. I do have one crafted with enahnced perks.

You really made me a headseeker believer. Very happy with Disparity, might give this a shot too, already got it craftable but made a PvE roll.
welcome back! appreciate the vids as always. I'm starting to lean away from the perfect 100 recoil direction. I found than anything above 85 is generally good enough for my skill bracket. so i ran with Corkscrew to bump the handling ever so slightly and i also chose a stability MW. Might swap for a range one just to see how it feels.
The default craftable roll convinced me get two of these, because harmony is so much fun with rain of fire for pve, no enemy stands a chance against a high impact with two stacking damage buffs that also shots mini rockets for extra damage.
An underrated use of tracer rockets is they snitch on people waiting behind corners. If you secure a kill and the rocket curves hard left or right into the wall someone is probably there

So I haven't gotten my red borders for this yet. But I was actually considering crafting this based on a problem I've noticed in the crucible: snipers are elite. I want to practice more. However on certain Trials maps I notice it's hard to pair a sniper with something like an SMG. I use my two sniper shots and then I'm left with just an SMG on a longer ranged map. Now I know I could quick swap off sniper, but I'd rather not. So I've been looking at longer range weapons that pair with snipers. BXR Battler is up there. But I was actually thinking of going hip-fire grip, headseeker and building into range and airborne effectiveness if possible. I know it'd make it a much less consistent pulse, especially at range, but the goal is to have something excelling in mid range that can add some value to closer range fights if I need it. The base time to kill of high impacts means it has a certain skill ceiling. Excited to finally craft.
The red border grind for this weapon is TERRIBLE i’m glad you were able to get enough to craft it
I love it. I went with more stability since I play at a slower pace, so I don't usually need the fast handling in most cases.
Got this thing crafted and upgraded asap. It is really good, but I still prefer Stars In Shadow with Surplus and Headseeker. Surplus does more for me personally and that handling boost is way to good to pass up. If they ever add a craftable high impact with enhanced Surplus it will be all over

The first time I used this pulse rifle in pvp, I was getting connecting triple kills a few times in a match. The traits it dropped with was under over and volt shot, and surprisingly works quite good both in pvp and pve. So when I finally could craft it, I slotted the enhanced versions of these very traits and made the weapon even better! Under over and volt shot wrecks barrier champs!
The only thing I don't like about this weapon is that it shoots a bit slower and handling is on the sluggish side as well.
Edit: On PC gameplay here, the weapon actually seems more agile in terms of handling and much less vertical recoil than on console.
Just an FYI, multiple targeting mods no longer stack the accuracy cone and ADS speed multiplier. They simply scale aim assist by 5|8|10 and have a flat multiplier for cone and ADS, so really you just need 1 arc targeting

if anyone is havving trouble getting red bordors, load a terminal then find a herioc patrol, there is 3 possible spawns in each area, you get a for sure neomuna legendary gun everytime you complete a herioc, i got almost all red borders in like a week, of course though if you see a terminal then do it real quick if its almost done or is already done because you get keys alot for doing this too, if you have a friend he can look also and just join up on him or you if you guys find one, Good luck!

0:08 bug: strand aerial dash should always prioritise over the strand charged melee. Especially if the visual effects and icon for the aerial dash are visible.
The workaround is to set two different buttons for both charged and uncharged melee. The thing is, there aren't that many buttons on controller to begin.. Having two dedicated buttons for melee on controller is nonsense
I have mine basically the same way you ended up but I used smallbore for the bump in range and stability. 95 recoil with counterbalance stock is close enough for me
That little extra bit of range really made the difference on my end
CoolGuy I feel like you should do another look into the Syncopation Pulse with the Changes to both Zen Moment and Headseeker. I just crafted one about a week ago and it feels amazing with the changes. I'm gonna have to craft this Pulse and test against Syncopation to see if it feels as good.
That pulse is amazing but take Zen moment off and put on moving target. That rifle which is my main rifle is so damn accurate. Zen moment is useless on it. I know a lot of UA-camrs are saying use zen moment with head seeker but the much better role is moving target with head seeker because moving target directly compliments head seeker. Plus with moving target, you yourself are harder to shoot because you're strafing faster which only makes the post rifle better with head seeker. Because now you have two perks literally vacuuming straight to the head. Instead of zen moment just faking like it's giving you more stability that you don't need!
I guarantee you will have more success with moving target and headseeker. The gun just felt weaker when I took moving target and put zenmoment on.
Interesting to see you compare this one to The Messenger so favourably. I personally can't get any two tap consistency out of it at all, even with the supposed accuracy benefits from enhanced keep away and the extra forgiveness from headseeker. Comparitively, the rapid hit/headseeker Messenger roll I main is two tapping around 80% of the time at 41 plus meters.

Just a PSA you get this is one of the three weapons you get 1 guaranteed red border of at set parts of the campaign on EACH character(the other 2 Neomuna craftables you can get from the "from zero..." and "...to hero" quests ). If RNG hates you trying speedrunning the campaign on your alts for 2 guaranteed redborders.
My Phyllotactic Spiral has that starting roll you tried with enhanced perks (that is, Arrowhead Brake). It’s a dream to use, though I may try Extended Barrel now. 🤔 I very much enjoy giving this Pulse an impactful 19% more Aim Assist just by equipping Targeting Adjuster, but if the extra 10 Range is that important for certain lanes, I’d rather that than making it more forgiving.
I got the red borders ages ago, but haven’t crafted it. Pulses are my most used weapon type on M&K, but between the stability and recoil nerfs I hate the way they feel now. Even my 84 stability Rapid Hit Messenger feels terrible. D2s draw is how good the weapons feel yet one by one Bungie ruins the feel of them. Same with bows, to fix Le Monarque hot swapping they nerfed the stow speed on all bows, so they feel much worse.
I to tried a number of rolls, with the goal of it being a NTTE clone. The issue I kept encountering was due to the poor handling, it was to clunky at strafe shooting & peak shotting. I landed on fluted barrel, rico rounds, enhanced keep away, enhanced elemental capacitor(as stasis revenant hunter), handling MW, targeting adjuster weapon mod, 2x arc targeting mods, 1x arc dex mods. Maybe I am weird in valuing strafe shooting/peak shoting so much, but with these perk choices the gun is indeed an exact clone of NTTE. I also use stompees so combined with enhanced elemental capacitor, think a titan on PK but with a pulse on a hunter.
I used my first deepsight harmonizer to finish crafting this, specifically for PvE for voltshot. Previously dark decider was my go-to for a voltshot build but this thing smacks hard.

Almost got a perfect new Purpose to drop the other day, just missing ricochet, these high impacts are so satisfying when you hit all you're shots, there's no peaking them when you're on point
This is an amazing pulse rifle. Would love to get a 5/5 premonition with zen moment and headseeker for Gyrfalcon's hunter builds. Phylotactic spiral has better stats all around and can be crafted. Zen moment and headseeker combo, though, is interesting...

I have the pattern unlocked but am lagging behind on crafting one.
Still using Autumn Wind in PvP and it's decent.
Vig Wing got a buff so thinking about giving it a little time in the sun again.
Headseeker is cool but i'm more of a Killclip guy, and Voltshot is like getting your favorite drink in a brand new flavor... the micro-rockets can proc while reloading and can jolt targets before before your first shot ... and Jolting a player is pretty much a death sentence just by the added flinch and damge they are getting
Such a good gun, I had very similar logic with going chambered compensator, I might have to switch to extended.
Adept Mykels, with the upcoming/future smg needs I feel this will be a force to be reckoned with.
I should start a timer to see how long it takes you to say "pound for pound" in each weapon video you make. Bonus points if you say it more than once.
Had to do mine with fluted barrel, ricochet, enhanced keep away and head seeker. The handling was abysmal, fluted feels essential. Got me my first solo flawless this season though! Bow week :’(
I main PvE but I like using it in PvP aswell so I went with the best in between: Arrowhead, Riccochet, Keep Away, Voltshot, Stability MW. Voltshot is surprisingly good in 6v6!

I crafted mine the same but I leaned more towards handling and it makes it snapper. I did the same on my round robin. I look at it as I’d rather be more agile then sitting in one place
I was playing pvp on vostok and I kept getting wrecked by one player with a great roll of this. I made it my job to grind out the red boarders, took me about 10 hours to get the remaining red boarders but I'm glad I did. I don't usually do PVP but this gun makes it a lot of fun.

I knew this gun was going to be something special when Lightfall dropped and I wasn’t disappointed. I was always a Messenger Adept user in Trials and 3v3 and crafting this opened up a world of loadout options being able to have a strong High Impact Pulse in the Energy Slot. I run it almost exclusively with a Stasis Fusion or my Immortal Adept. I opted for Smallbore, Ricochet Rounds, Enh Keep Away, Enh Headseeker and Stability MW and it duels like it has EotS. It’s a monster.
Headseaker nasty. Kill clip is straight filthy and the entry kill is still easy get. I have an adept messenger with killing wind kill clip and that made any engagement at stupid ranges not even close.
Been really good to me. I finally got it crafted up to basic perks, and I'm trying out your roll atm. It's been doing well for me, but I use witherhoard in my kinetic slot which does leave me kinda boned when people close in.
You should try polygonal + flared mag, you’ll lose on some range but stability > recoil recoil reduction. Arrowhead brake is only good if you’re not getting shot at, but you can reduce your flinch massively by getting high stability on some other barrel perks. I’ll break any weapon that doesn’t have fluted, arrowhead, poly or extended because in almost every scenario you want stability or handling
With the rangefinder nerf coming soon, a gun people should be looking out for is actually Chattering Bone. Currently it can roll opening shot in the third column and headseeker in the fourth. I have an opening shot rampage roll, and you can def feel opening shot nabbing headshots.

Definitely gotta grind for this. My main impact pulse is my Rapid Hit + Alacrity messenger that’s I have almost 800 crucible kills on.
I want to love it like other people do, but to me, even with a perfect roll, I find it to have an odd inconsistency that other high impacts don't have. For me, I will take Messenger or Stars in Shadow over this thing every day.
See True Vanguard's review of it as well, he also finds it inconsistent
I went the fluted barrel way. Messenger feels kinda sluggish against a 50 handling Spiral. Still got 38 m range. Feels like Ophidians for free. Lvl 94 and going.
I crafted it with enhanced keep / head but to be honest after running my stars n shadows with surplus / headseeker on strand with all the melee charges on top of grenade and class abilities its night and day difference. Stability handling and reload if not maxed are in the 80s nearly all the time. Its kinda sick.
I believe you can can also get red boarder drops from the weekly mission. I got my last red boarder drop of this while finishing a legend or master one. not sure how good the drop rates are, but it worked for me.
I made one with reload masterwork, compulsive reloader and Voltshot, but I feel I could not get it to work. I ran it through about 5 of the seasonal activity and it felt like I just absolutely could not get Voltshot to trigger

Honestly this thing doesn't even need headseeker. Enhanced voltshot and fluted barrel work wonders.
I've got mine with enhanced keep away and joltshot for pve, more of a high-end kit. Unfortunately, the jolt damage is kind of underwhelming compared to other weapons for some reason, but it's still very good

Got over 500 kills this week In trials with it, enhanced head and Keep away are amazing on it, only problem with it is, it just doesn't have the base stats to compete with messenger, different slots of course. But it's a great weapon.
I was super excited by this gun, but felt a bit underwhelmed. You are right, though: a few perks swapped around to push out the range and it's so good! Also, wow... Enhanced Keepaway is noticeably better! Thanks for the heads up.
I got all my patterns for this gun while farming for iterative loop/round robin, so knowing that this gun isn't complete ass eases the pain of spending roughly 7 hours farming in liming harbor and still not getting the pattern for either IL or RR
I went Fluted with a handling MW, so I'm lacking on the range department, but I love this weapon. It's become my go-to for crucible. I might switch out the handling MW for a range MW instead to get it a bit tighter and help with aim assist, but I really do love this thing.
I was using one with Keep Away/Elemental Capacitor that was fun... crafted with Headseeker instead and I started doing worse with it somehow. Like the bullets just didn't want to land properly and AA just didnt kick in. Might be because connections have been bad. Think I need more range.
With Elemental Capacitor and Arc it was extremely snappy. Even ran some double primaries with this and Immortal/Peacekeepers and Phyllo... could swap between them instantly.

BXR outduels this gun. SMGs destroy people using this gun. 180 HCs obliterate people using this gun. And I don’t even use crafted guns, because what kind of loser has time for that? I actually don't think this pulse is anything on a messenger, but it's still good I used this all weekend on Immortal weekend (Jav 4), played like 150 games in the flawless pool with it. Imo it needs as much stability as possible. The range is okay, and you don't need recoil direction on the barrel because just with counterbalance you're at 95. But to consistently 2 burst, on controller at least, this thing needs more stability. So mine is Smallbore, Ricochet, Keep Away, Headseeker, Stability Masterwork. I think Rapid Hit is just so important on these pulses, and any Rapid Hit Messenger just destroys this gun. If you can't consistently hit the 2 burst, I don't think this gun is worth running - I actually prefer 390s for this reason as they are way more consistent - Last Perdition in this slot, Syncopation in the top slot.

something about this gun feels off. The messenger is a literal laserbeam even with less than 100 recoil direction. This gun at 100 recoil direction still bounces upward a lot more than messenger. maybe i just havnt used it enough to get used to it. I do have one crafted with enahnced perks.
