This is absolutely brilliant! I remember all these from years ago. Loved Roy Walker, and Frank Carson who I saw in 1995, he did a two hour show, just rattled off one joke after another, you couldn't catch your breath for laughing, the back of my head hurt from laughing so much! I wish comedy was like it now, instead of the drivel on tv now!

Early 1970s these people would be on at the seaside theatres, Yarmouth, Blackpool etc. As a kid you could get in with a bit of pocket money and see TV stars. Oftentimes you'd see them out on the piers talking to people. Some, like Frankie Howerd and Mike and Bernie Winters would have nothing to do with their fans.

I recorded this on VHS and went to dig it out a couple of weeks ago to transfer it to DVD and discovered I had recorded over it. I was very disappointed so was pleasantly surprised to find this and can't thank you enough because I thought I would never see it again.

In Britain they just smash the headstones up and bury someone else on top if relatives dont keep up payments to the church. I believe when someone is buried in a church graveyard it lasts 75 year's, After that if payments aren't made they chuck the headstone away and bury someone ontop. You'll notice many graveyards have old gravestones leant against walls at the side or piled up in a heap someone

Probably helps that it wasn't until 1974 that a modern, in depth law was passed allowing 'burial authorities' to remove grave markers which have fallen into disrepair and such, not just take advantage of a 75 year rule. Seems a bit of a pity though. Even the naval heroes of Trafalgar were dug up and poked about with by archeaologists from Channel 4's Time Team to no uproar whatsoever, especially when the naval hospital itself asked them to dig around the field outside for whatever was in it.
