I am from St. Croix USVI and I believe we all from the various islands love our foods we may use or add slightly different or similar ingredients but all the same sweet cultures from our ancestors. I don't think that is necessary. All the islands have their own way of making and shaping their dumplings. There are many videos on UA-cam. Although I am from Trinidad, I shape my dumplings differently. It is a matter of your personal preference.
See how it curls, it's snake fish does not curl. I literally gawked when I found out because I used to buy a lot because I love anything with codfish. But we have been duped into eating salted snakes that they have flavored to take like codfish. 🤮🤮🤢 I only but codfish with scales and bone let me de-bone and remove the skin and scales. Also, the real fish taste is very different
Dumplings must never rest its best to be very firm. That's how a real dumpling is made a firm sorta hard dumpling. The Jamaicans are the best at making dumplings
