Best video on this subject that I have seen. I watched it after I did the repair and the iPad seemed to not be working. The screen was black. This is the only video that recommended doing the hard restart. I did that and everything is working fine now. Thanks so much!!
The volume down button on my iPad Air 2 broke last week. It can't be pressed anymore (seems to be stuck) but will still work if pressed hard enough. All other buttons are fine. I wondered if and how this button could be replaced but after seeing this video I don't think that I'm going to attempt it myself
I just replaced the flex cable... Ordered the one you use here and then found out that this was the updated version of the ipad 2 so it was a little different. When I reassembled it I could see a partial faint display on part of the screen, that would go away after a few seconds after I pushed the home button.Tried the hard reset and nothing happened. I noticed that the vol up button was solid with no reflex. I took it back apart and the push button for the vol up was not "clicking" but solid.
Now I know how to remove the stuck volume buttons and stop auto volume increase and decrease once and for all .But could the iPad operate without them ?
Thanks for responding...when I tried to open it, the glue was so strong that I ripped the flax cable and antenna...and now thinking to send it to you. If I send it on Monday, what is your turnaround time? And labor? Thanks,
Hey guys, great video...but my question is do I have to replace the flex cable if what seems to be a stuck up volume switch. Down volume works fine, but the up volume doesn’t budge when pressed. So is it just the button problem or the whole assembly? And do you have those parts for sale? Thanks in advance, bambi011
Hello bambi011 try to unscrew just for a tiny bit the screw holding down the volume button bracket.. that should solve the problem. And yes we do sell these parts go see our website.
I just replaced the back housing and glass screen of my ipad 2. I was so happy when it turned on BUT after 1 minute o more my ipad turns off by itself (literally turns off). It does continuously. Do you think is there a problem with the power flex or the mother board? Please advice.
So, I left the switches out and tried to reset... still no luck... I could see the faint partial screen when I pushed the home button, but nothing when I pushed the power button. Any ideas?
its suppose to go down and then you put back the power button piece, i just finished doing it, and i too was like "what the heck man"?! lol hope this helps
The best video I've seen for close ups but I wish you would have shown how to reinstall
it that's a little tricky

Make sure your power button works. You can not hard reset if your power button is not working.
You can see the link to our website in the video description below the video.
Uhhh just get wipes and wipe the iPad
