The budget is 500 and they gave her a stunning dress worth 350 so she could still afford to accesorize. How thoughtful is that? I feel like they treat their brides like someone they really care about and not just another customer. They think about everything that the bride may or may not want to add still keeping in mind her budget. I love that.
SYTTD in Europe are so considerate to their brides!! They never put them in anything over their budget and they don't grab the designer dresses.

This show is a hundred times better than the one in New York. No one is looking down on you if your budget is under 3K and the consultants aren't as pushy for a sale.
And the brides (and their families) are nicer...

I was a consultant at the most exclusive bridal salon in a large city. I never showed anything over budget, only under, as brides often forgot that the veil, alterations and even their shoes should be considered in the 'gown' budget. We had a large clearance section that I utilized more than any other consultant. I also was able to look at the bride's shape and suggest a gown for her to 'just try to see what you think'. Sold to many happy brides. One I remember well was a second-time bride who was shy about coming in, thinking expensive. I actually fitted her to a gown that had been reduced to about $150 as it was a sample but in perfect condition. She loved it.

Capitalism has convinced us that $500 for a dress you'll only wear once is a small budget. People used to be wiser. She is beautiful.
I agree so much. How is 500 gbp is "just"? People work for that money for a month And this dress is for one occasion. I understand that everibody wants to be the princess but this is insane.

$450 that's roughly 50,000 pesos convented to our currency (Philippines) and that money is actually the budget of a wedding. ❤ dress rage from 8,000 less and it comes with the outfits of the whole entourage.

My budget was £500 too but I fell in love with a £699 dress, and alteration will cost another £100. Managed to find the same dress second handed of exactly my height (and already bustled) under budget!

Yeah that third one was rough. It didn't fit her and the length was really weird - not short enough to be tea-length but also not down to the floor.

First time watching this version and it’s lovely to see a consultant that’s not ‘in your face flamboyant’. He’s made it about the bride and not about himself. A refreshing change.
So far the bestest episode of SYTTD! Happy bride, small budget, wonderful dress, supportive entourage, great behaviour of the consultants! What more could we ask for.

This would be tough but so interesting. The average person only has 500.00 for a gown to be honest. The only reason why most have more of a budget is due to it being a gift that someone saved years for or a combined purchase

@@sophykass9396 I was in a tiny, dark shop in San Antonio. An artist who made frog broaches told me that story and it's stuck with me...even tho' sadly the broach I bought from him is long gone, the memory remains strong :)

When I was getting married, my dress budget was $200. For my whole wedding I was aiming at $1000. Thank goodness for a hand me down cake topper from when my grandparents got married, and a church coordinator who also decorated my wedding cake. The dollar store was a blessing as well.

My and I Mom made my wedding dress and bouquet. With everything including patterns, veil and headpiece, fabric, lace appliques, beads, shoes and undergarments, it was around 250 US dollars. It was made of gorgeous Damask cloth and has an 8 ft train with lace appliques and pearl beading. It cost more to preserve it than the dress cost itself! We ended up getting married in Hawaii so my in laws from Japan could attend. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. My daughter also wants to wear either my dress or my Mom's dress (also made by her for about 75 USD) for her wedding in the future or sew/alter it on her own.

Unfortunately, most bridal shops don't carry many sample dresses in plus sizes. Plus her budget was quite small, so they probably didn't have many options.
