Thanks. I just bought a 2024 F250 and ordered one of the bed covers. I was thinking you only had to unlatch the cover from one side or the other and not both sides.
Heyhey Chad I have one of those in my garage now waiting to be installed on my new truck which I should get any day now. This video will help. Take care my friend
@@PurpleCollarLife I have been waiting 2 weeks . It is a 2018 Nissan Titan XD diesel. Newest truck I have ever bought. But after watching your anti diesel video I'm worried.
I agree with you, having a tonneau cover that sits above the bed a little would allow me to carry a larger generator, but I'm curious how this cover will hold up when there is 2 feet of snow on it, as I live in Northwest Indiana, where that tends to happen at least once a year in the winter.
I don't think I ever had more than a foot of accumulating snow on the tonneau cover on my old truck. It sits in the garage overnight, so the only accumulating snow on it is when it's out during the day. I do remember a pretty good snow fall while I was traveling through Michigan. I was staying at a hotel and it snowed over a foot overnight. I never had any issues with it sagging or collapsing. 2' of snow is a lot though!
@@PurpleCollarLife This was the best demonstration of installation for this cover. Mine is coming in a couple of days, so I’m hoping it will be as easy to install as you make it look.😄
Good evening Sir, great installation video and informative too 👍👌😇 Ho HO Are you planning to sleep there ( Have you been a bad boy Sir ? ) 🤔🤣👌 Cheers 🍻🍻
Hi Dave! I could definitely sleep in that 8-foot bed if needed! I’d probably want an inflatable mattress, but it certainly has lots of room. And the night lights are nice too!
Nice vid, do you think you could leave the cover on and rolled all the way up to accommodate a truck camper in the back?? I have a 2023 F-350XLT on order with the bed liner, actually in the rapid red which looks like thats what you have. AND the 7.3 which you have. So basically exact same truck. LMK if you could on the roll up aspect. Thanks!!
I don't know if that would work (truck camper with it rolled up). I think there isn't enough room for the roll and the camper to slide fully in without crushing the roll/support rods) against the glass. But it's also really easy to remove the framework with the C clamps. You could potentially roll it up, remove the front frame section, haul it in the camper, and then re-install it once at the camp site.
You don't have to wait long. We have a video releasing on Sunday of our first towing experience with the 7.3. We just got back from a long trip towing the camper, so we'll be posting more videos about it in the coming weeks.
I have a TruXedo cover on my F150. It’s the flush mounted one and my disappointment is in steady rain it doesn’t do a good job keeping dry. Though I’m not expecting total dryness, I was expecting better. Now the one you have that’s not flush mounted seems to have better abilities to deflect the rain. Am I correct?
I think this type (not flush mounted) do have a better ability to keep the water out of the bed. Since it sits on top of the rails, and the edges are over top the rails, I think the water does a better job of moving out to the sides of the bed, rather than potentially into the bed space. Thanks for watching!
Once that double-sided weather stripping is installed - it would be difficult to take back off. But not impossible. After about 10 years, it actually just came off on it's own on my previous truck. :) But the rest of the tonneau cover stayed nicely in shape.
Good question. My truck won’t fit through a car wash with those brushes, so I’m not sure. It seems like it would do fine. I tend to avoid those car washes with the big brushes - they scratch the clear coat over time from what I’ve read. But like I said - my truck won’t even fit in one (crew cab, long bed), so I’ve never actually experienced it.
@@PurpleCollarLife I have a Toyota Tacoma, and I have been debating about using those kinds of car washes. I was also worried about how rough the brushes are, and I know you’re right about the clearcoat. Thanks for your help, and I should be putting on my cover tomorrow.
I had one since 2011. Just bought a new one. I'll always have on eon every truck i own. I luv it. Definitely worth the money
Absolutely. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Looks great! And I'm sure stands up to the toughest of weather conditions as well. ☀️🌧❄️🌬 Thanks for sharing Chad!
So far, it’s survived a severe thunderstorm with wind and rain, and the beating sun of a hot summer day. I’m happy with it. Thanks for watching!
I have the same cover on my 2018 long bed. So much better with the integrated bows. It has held up well to Pa snow and weather.
I agree - I'm really happy with how this tonneau cover. It functions well and holds up in the snow.

Ours unlatches on each side (you have to do two sides). But they're a great cover.

Hey, Mike! How long have you been waiting on your new truck? What are you getting? We have had good luck with these TruXedo brand products.

interesting this video just showed up because today I just installed that same tonneau cover on my Ram 3500. Hopefully it holds up.
I’m still happy with it so far!
Thanks!

Hello, thanks for the video. Do you think the F-150 2015-2023 BED EXTENDER (Part No: VLL3Z99286A40A)will work with this top?
Great question - I’m not sure.
Can the cover be completely removed if necessary, or does the weather-stripping on the bulkhead preclude from doing so?
