Hi, Can you please review Seiko Essentials sapphire series? The sur307 and other models? Also they got same models in titanium the sur375 and other models.
Respectfully, the fact you’ve never come across the original is a you problem, not a scam. An original design for £40 from a Chinese watch company is highly unusual. Also, not sure why the NH35 movement is a “drawback”.. everything uses it.
To clarify, I did not mean the NH35 is a drawback. At the price it's a decent inclusion. The drawback is the thickness of the watch; thought that bit was made pretty clear myself.
I think the nh35 movement is the same as the 4r35 movement that Seiko uses in its own watches up to £400. They just mark the rotor nh35 and sell them to who ever wants them. Including companies that copy Seiko watches.
Some people just give me the vibe of when someone did them a favour, they turned around and accuse the giver of some wrongdoing. The world we live in .
With best wishes, Ben, I really don't get this pearl clutching. The Longines Conquest looks similar to the VC Overseas....it's fine when Swiss manufacturers are 'drawing inspiration' from each other, but if it's a Chinese company, its different...
Personally, I think the dial on that first Addiesdive is much more of a straight copy than the Longines is of the VC. When side by side, they look near-identical. There's definitely a distinction between drawing inspiration and copying, that's why. I don't think it's fine when Swiss manufacturers clone one another's products, though that doesn't happen nearly as often as with the Chinese brands (for local legal reasons, obviously).
Those Longines homages are original enough for me. They’re not a one-to-one copy, as both the indices and case have different geometry. Now that I have several mechanical watches, the Seiko VH31 quartz is very appealing to me, even more than a cheap NH or Miyota mechanical movements.
These are great watches for the price, as for the original design I did not know about the Longines watch but I love the design and the price. I would not feel ripped off at all.
I know I’m in the minority but I kinda like the Addiesdive logo. I agree it wouldn’t fit on these gada models but on their dive style watches, I don’t mind it. But, then again, I’m a big fan of the Orient logo and I’m in pretty sure I’m in the minority with that opinion too.
The problem that I have with these watches has nothing to do with quality, but it seems that a new dial was put into an existing case, with an existing set of watch hands. If it wasn't for the branding, they would look like mods to me.
Quality-wise this is a good value for money. Branding is what keeps me from buying one. How is the NH-35 a drawback? It is a workhorse around the world.
Strangely I have never liked the look of the latest iteration of the Longines Conquest but I do like the Addiesdive AD2066, there must be enough subtle differences for me. Love the red dial on the AD2071 as well.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I have owned the first watch (in mint green) for about a month. I have had several people comment on the gorgeous dial. Your camera really doesn't do it justice. I love this watch and look forward to more manufacturers using the VH31 mecha-quartz movement, as I think it's a no-brainer; it allows for the watch to be thinner, lighter, more accurate, more reliable, and... wait for it... CHEAPER. All good things.
Great video, as always! Have you sean the milifortic homage to the hamilton murph? The gradient blue looks great. Hope you someday make a review of that Watch
There are similarities between those two and the Conquest, but they have features you'd find on a lot of watches. I wouldn't be bothered either way anyway.
The red one looks like a " homage " to the San Martin SN0129, the dial of which looks like a " homage" to the addiedive AD2059, it all gets a bit incestuous, but a nice looking watch. I don't think Longines are going to loose any customers to Addiesdive.
Those first 2 watches may be clones of the new Longines conquest… but I promise you these have better lume 🤣!! Regardless.. IMO, they don’t look at all like the new or the old Conquest. Again, IMO
I have other versions of the 2 macaquartz watches and I am extremely happy with them. I also have another version of the auto but it is so inaccurate that I never use it. I does have the 1 advantage; it has COMPLETELY turned me off mechanical watches.
How inaccurate is it, out of interest? The most inaccurate mechanical watch I’ve ever owned came to me running +20sec/day. It was a Seiko 4R35 movement. I regulated it myself and it’s now running -4 to +6 seconds a day. That’s almost COSC standards….
@@thetattedpharmacist3215 It varies wildly, one day it could be + or - 20 sec, the next day it could be + or - 45 sec. And that is when keeping it well wound and in one position. I do not have a timegrapher and am unwilling to pay my "local" watch guy (110 miles away) £40 just to look at it. I gently tried adjusting it but things could only be made worse not better. What makes it even worse is that the AD2023-1 came out 3 months after I wasted 2x the AD2023-1 cost on this auto.
Used this watch on my buddy dylans mom. she was very impressed. lets just say she was very very very impressed if you catch my drift. hubba hubba. meow meow to tuna town.
Like half of the seiko 5-s look like these, yet it is completely fine to buy a seiko. You know, at this point the watch design is like the theology: if the idea is new, it is very probably false teaching :)
Great video, presentation.. Stick to the next step with San Martin or Seestern if you can find it affordable with the extra cost.. Rick in Florida USA San Martin and Seestern watch collector
Because I don't keep up with any luxury watch brands, far too many releases to keep up with with 10,000+ watch brands out there. I have enough on my plate keeping up with the budget watches 😂
I will test Junghans at some point, if I can get the right deal. I agree about the limited coverage and being unsure of the quality. Because very few have tried them, the UA-camrs could well be exaggerating the quality
Hi ben, Can you please review Seiko Essentials sapphire series? The sur307 and other models? Also they got same models in titanium the sur375 and other models. These are sapphire quartz watches under 180$ from seiko.
Nice Video so far but sorry man stop saying this watches are clones. Watches are only clones if they have the exact same look, measurments and specially brand name as there real role models. These are homages. And dont say anything against my understanding of a clone or a homage.
I'm a bit confused why you think that's sapphire. For it to be sapphire, it would need to register at least 8 on that Diamond Selector pen. 5-7 is mineral crystal and

You said it yourself. The "everything uses it" is the drawback.
@ How? It’s used for a reason. Reliability. No one is looking at the movement in an £80 watch.
I assumed he meant it's a drawback because of the thickness, but I could be wrong.

Even a japanese brand.
It looks nothing like a VC Overseas. And even if it did, "looking like" and being a straight out copy are two very different things

The problem with this brand is their horrible branding

I got a grand Seiko for £18 off Ali express and I’m having doubts it may not be genuine 😊

Newsflash.
Chinese cheap brands copy designs.
You get value for money in other areas but originality is not 1 of them.

Ben, don't hold your breath for any San Martin original design bangers. They already make them under the brand name Jianghun, and they look terrible
I saw some of those, they're very whacky aren't they, saw one that looked like a witch's cauldron 😂
Quality-wise this is a good value for money. Branding is what keeps me from buying one. How is the NH-35 a drawback? It is a workhorse around the world.
Never said the NH35 was a drawback, the thickness of the watch was the drawback 👍 the NH35 is actually fairly decent
A full review would be appreciated.
Clone or not, I like that the first two watches have no date complication. Is there a ghost date position?
No, they have quartz seiko VH31 movement and that movement has no date.
Thank you

The red one needs a pt5000 to reduce the thickness
Could help, or just a thinner case, I'm sure there's a fair bit of wiggle room in there
How thin do you think a nh movement is? Guess you don’t have many?
So you think they were original designs? How cute. Congratulations, you fool yourself 😂
