Love the whimsical nature of added collage, especially on the 3rd one! And thanks for the comment on camouflage only working to a point, very helpful.

Very different effect working from dark to light or light to dark but both equally impressive prints🤩

I have a fear of the darker expanses, but you demonstrate over and over that they are opportunities to showcase light.

The pathways across your prints especially seen in close up create the magic.
A good afternoon unwinder and learning session for me.
Take it easy till next time, Fulton.

You may want to check out Kilimanjaro from cheap joes which is supposed to be the same quality but not as expensive as Fabriano. I use both fabriano and Kilimanjaro. I do not notice a difference.

I became a subscriber. I really enjoy printmaking. I was frustrated that so many who use the gelli plate seem to use it for craft purposes like cards. I think yours is the only one that explores printmaking using the gelli plate. Anyhow Fulton nice to meet you

Thanks so much! I'm glad the gelli plate generates interest in printmaking and makes it fun and accessible. Art evolves with technology, much like everything else.

Thank you for your generosity and expertise. I have placed my gel plate on a large-ish ceramic tile that doesn’t shift due to its intrinsic weight. The tile is white so I made the register marks you taught me about on the tile with a permanent sharpie. Again thank you very much 🙇🏻‍♀️

All three nice results. I really do like your first print this time, very complex and interesting, and to me quite organic as well. Like a landscape…. I usually like the ghost prints more.
Given that you had a big slidey plate issue initially the results are great - if you want an easily movable plate perhaps something more rigid, like a Perspex sheet would work, it does for smaller gel plates, and has the advantage that you can tape it into place to make it stay, if you want. I know you like to use ordinary objects as solutions, I saw some of these sheets online that are used for garden shed windows, really very affordable, the bespoke ones cost imo far too much!
There would also be other possibilities for registration to experiment with, like eyeballing the plate onto the paper instead of the way you normally work….

Eyeballing! These eyes are old and don't work like they used to. 😁

Hello, I'm new to your channel and new to the art of Gellipanting. These are very beautiful paintings and so unique. Thank you for your clear instructions. I love the idea of gluing on some paper pieces for an added effect and different texture. I look forward to watching more of your tutorials. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Do you varnish as a final finish? I did sime collage on watercolor paper and used matt medium and don’t like the feel if the surface. Your art is fabulous!

    • @artwhisperer88
      @artwhisperer88  26 днів тому

I normally don't varnish because the intended display will be to frame them under glass.

@@artwhisperer88 ok, mine are going to be cut into bookmarks and sold….i am going to try some kind of sealer/varnish…. I tried gelli printing onto some already water colored 140 pound watercolor paper and it works fabulously. Also, I like the texture of the cold-press paper. Also gelli printed onto some fabric and then printed it on smooth Fabriano watercolor paper, and the texture from the fabric was still there and it was wonderful. This is so much fun!

Watching at this video I noticed that you leave the paper 10/15 minutes before lifting.
In your recent videos you leave the papers 5 minutes or so. Please tell me the difference.
