We really wanted to start this year off with the keys to our new house, an exciting full house tour and by sharing major renovation plans for the place butttt..
Life doesn’t always happen how you’d like it to! (Have you ever seen our vids? 🧐)
There has been a delay in us getting the keys but it’s probably been a blessing in disguise as Custard the bus is NOT ready for van life OR to house us though a renovation! 😂
In all honesty she needs a completely new van build.
To start with, the roof leaks. In multiple places so this really needs addressing 😆
Renamed Rustard, she needs a lot of TLC before we make the move up.
Of course the place to be right now is Gary’s workshop 😎
Gary is an angel sent from above.
He’s helped us since buying the bus in 2019 with restoring her and he plays a big role in this weeks video.
We had a phone call from Gary a few months back to let us know he was diagnosed with cancer and it hit us like a ton of bricks.
He’s doing well and is keeping busy with us with a hammer in one hand and his chemo tablets in the other.
A man full of courage and laughs, this week he tells his story ❤️ come join us.

Great job sharing very important information Gary. My older and only sister faced this and even though she was an RN, she ignored the symptoms. She's had two major surgeries, fought two major battles, years apart. But she kicked cancer in the Butt literally and won, praise God and good doctors. Praying you win the battle as well, you are loved. God bless.

Wishing Gary well. My dad was dignosed with bowel cancer, quite bad, over 7 years ago. He had the 5 year all clear 2 years ago and and no further problems 🤞 Great advice to go to the docs if you don’t feel well and don’t be fobbed off. Everyone knows their own body and when things don’t feel right. Looking forward to the new house videos and also Gary coming and doing a bit of diy too!

My son last year at 37 had testicular cancer. 😢Had to have one testicle removed. Doing fine. No chemo or radiation needed. ❤ Prayers for Gary.

@@junehall2177 so So sorry you lost your Dad too. My Dad was nursing his identical twin brother who had motor neurone disease and ignored his own symptoms till he could no longer ignore them. Was too late then. I also lost my uncle, Dads twin 6 weeks later. Gary was so brave talking about his journey so far. Take care x
@@janyoung1364 I'm so sorry, such loss for you. Similar story, my Dad was looking after my Mum, multiple issues, sadly she passed just 6 years later, 62, ovarian cancer. It was an emotional watch, but needed, our thanks to Gary & Craig & Aimee too. Take care. XX

Just a lil info about being told you have cancer: it does include quite a bit of mental pain; the kind that makes you think that there is no hope. Fortunately all the people around you, quacks included, give you back all the hope you thought you had taken away in that first gasp of knowledge. So very glad that you listened to your body Mr. Gary, no worries, no fears. ‘Gotta live’ takes over and you have no space for fear or broken hopes. My father had stage 4 colon cancer and I was devastated as I was pregnant with my first baby. The thought of him not meeting my new baby broke my heart. But he made it chemotherapy and surgery and 10 years later he is still here. ❤ Gary looks fantastic and I’m happy he’s doing great 🎉

Dad 62 got hit in the junk by his dog jumping on him. Was in a lot of pain, wound up going to the doc. Turned out he has prostate cancer. It hadn't spread but they said there was more cancer then prostate left. He's in remission now. But he had no symptoms.
Make sure you get checked. My dad is the guy who woulda never gone. Always keep up with checkups.
Here's to better health for Gary,his kindness he gives to you both is so sweet. May his better health journey be a smooth road, and may you both give him so much to laugh about with your journeys you both share. Your job is to keep giving him lots to laugh at and warm his dear heart.

It can be hard to advocate for ourselves with medical professionals, but we know how we feel and deserve to be heard. You are such a sweet light and the world isn’t ready to let you go. My sister was diagnosed with rectal cancer at 31 years old. She ignored it. The first doctors assumed she was too young for something like colorectal cancer. By the time she saw a doctor who took her seriously she was stage 3. She didn’t make it to 40. Colorectal cancer is the fastest rising cancer in younger people. No matter what the age, advocate for yourself! If something is wrong, keep pursuing an answer. That concludes my PSA. I won’t ever stop preaching.

Big love to you both and especially to Gary. My dad went to the doctor early and was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000 when he was 69 years old. He had a big celebration for his 90th birthday with a BBQ and a selection of his favourite malt whiskies.

Best wishes to Gary and for speaking out about it. When I hit 60 I got one of those bowel cancer test kits in the post but it sat on my bedside table for weeks and then became buried. It was only when I saw a close friend and he told me he had sent his back and it had blood in the sample so he went to get a Colonoscopy done which found some polyps but thankfully no signs of cancer. This gave me a kick and I also got called in for a Colonoscopy and thankfully it was the same for me polyps and negative test result. So, come on chaps and chapesses, get yourself checked out. I’m the worst for seeing the docs but so glad I did. Hope Custard survives the Scottish winter and look forward to seeing the house renovation. I’ve been looking in Scotland myself but all my friends and family don’t want me to go…. I’m currently in Brighton so it’s a bloody long way but then so is Australia or NZ. Andy UK

Big hugs to Gary! My husband went through a bone marrow transplant for Leukemia. He’s been cancer free for almost 8 years. He has to go in and have a check up every 5-6 months. All the best to you Gary. Cancer is such a shock. We were on holiday in England and my husband lost feeling on his left side. He also had difficulty folding clothes and dressing himself. We took him to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St.Edmunds. Two CT Scans , an MRI and one week in the hospital he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma brain Cancer. It is incurable but with treatments hope we can get him some time. We few home early from our holiday and he is being treated here at home. We remain positive but I can say this is a journey we never expected and it is really hard. Thank you for helping us with your vlogs. You help us smile . All the best to you. Bob and Shelley
