    I learned something new today. Keep these videos going and you’ll continue to grow your channel. Your content is top tier and too many watch channels on UA-cam don’t provide as much depth

    I really like this vintage Omegas and i was considering buying one or two, but after watching this...maybe not, far too many can be wrong and there's not really an online chart where one can check if case, dials, caliber, hands, etc match the watch model, i really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing the info

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  4 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment. Best to watch my video on buying your first vintage watch. Find the model that you like and from there slowly educate yourself about it. If your plan is going to buy whatever you find is nice then you'll probably regret at the end. Self knowledge is key or else you'll just need to trust the dealer.

    Another problem I encountered was with an automatic Omega watch which could not be manually wound. Maybe one of the wheels of the watch movement had been damaged? So a good idea to check manual winding both automatic and non-automatic watches.

      That will depend on the type of watch. Most serviced watches can be worn on a daily basis.

    Hi the tips in your videos are really helpful. Will you consider to do a review on seamaster cosmic series? Like how to differentiate the models and details. How to tell if its a refinished dial an what to look at before made a purchase? thank you!

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  5 років тому

      Thank you!
      Unfortunately, it takes a lot time of studying to learn each series of models and to truly understand what is a refinished dial.
      It is something I cannot explain as some refinished dials are so professionally done, it takes the eyes of an expert to tell.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your very good videos ! How can we make sure that case, mouvement and dial are correct ? Is there somewhere to check it ? Thanks again !

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  6 років тому

      This is probably most difficult. You can ask the help of an expert (trust me, not every expert is an expert). You can trust the dealer that what he has for sale is truly an authentic piece. Or as a third option you can use the serial number given on the movement to request for an extract of archive from Omega. It takes years to really understand what belong with what.

      Thank you very much. I get this question all the time. I wish I could help you out, but I am overwhelmed with watch repair and running my online business. If you're unsure about something, probably asking on the Omega forum would be the best source for answers. Otherwise, if you're afraid to buy a bad vintage watch. Head over to my site now and you'll only find the best stuff there. Properly serviced and 100% genuine.

    What do you think about Omega Seamaster Cosmic from 1970, cal 613?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 роки тому

      They are great! Caliber 613 is a very good movement. Only issue with a cosmic is, the watch maker needs to have the proper tool to remove the crystal and crown. Without the proper tools you can damage the crown and crack the crystal. This watch takes a special crystal which are normally replaced with a regular crystal as the original has been cracked.

    Hi,
    The first watch in the video, do you know where I can get one? I've been scouring the internet for ages but can't find one in as good condition as yours, or the seconds track is on the outer part of the dial.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  4 роки тому

      Unfortunately, I do not know. It was sold on my site. I've also made a video about it if you check my "watch2talk" playlist.

    Where can I find a 79 seamaster stainless steel bracelet? This is smaller than usual I think.
    It's a cool automatic. Review it pretty Please.
    Why is it so small?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel

      You can try hunting one on Ebay or try www.ofrei.com or request one at the Omega authorized dealer. You'll probably never see a video from me on a 1979 Omega unfortunately. I am more interested in vintage Omega dating to around 1930s to 1960s.

    I have a omega cal.562. And the case number sais two numbers: 168.024 and 166.010. may it be incorrect?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  6 років тому

      Caliber 562 is totally correct as long as the dial does not say "Chronometer Officially Certified". This case takes two different Seamaster version as you can see the 168 indicates the Chronometer version which can be a caliber 561 or 564 (quick set date) or the 166 indicates the regular version which can be a caliber 562 or 565 (quick set date).
      Hope this helps.

      Many Omega uses this caliber. Would take forever to name them all. This is a question that will require you to do some research.
