I am on the fence to purchase this. Although the specs states it can do 1080p 60fps, a lot of posts are saying the opposite. I need to figure out if I can get 1080p 60fps in OBS?
Geodude looking good with Link 2 😎 Appreciate the review, nailed everything that makes these webcams impressive. We'll look into that magnetic base for ya!
I want to see it compared to the original Link. Is the image quality any better? The new model loses the ability to rotate 90° to a vertical orientation by itself (not a big deal though). I noticed the Link C isn't choppy like the Link 2. What's up with that?
Which one hands down the best do you recommend for streaming? How do you thing the insta360 link2 compares to: Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra or the Elgato Facecam Pro Web Camera, 4K UHD ? I have been looking for something for ages but I cannot decide which one
I see that you've connected this through a usb cable. Can it work via bluetooth? Why are we using cables still in 2024? I understand for charging but can the best webcam work wirelessly?
I have the original and use it daily. Don't use the mic though as it sounds muddy, and it appears that the new one is the same. I use a Shure MV7X for audio for all my work calls. So far this is working great for me.
Hi I have the first Insta360 Link but how much better is The Insta360 Link 2 compare to the original? also is it 4K60 and HDR? And lastly how is The Insta360 Link 2 in very low light like in a dark room but just the light from the TV / computer screen?
Hi, thanks for the review I seriously considering buying one but I have a burning question - will it mount on Benq screenbar halo or do I need Benq screenbar webcam accessory to mount it? Cos it looked like it have already some stand to mount it in the box. And I don’t want to spend 20 bucks for piece of plastic if I don’t have to. Thanks you!
This is fantastic news (even though I already gave in to the high-priced model). For years I've been wishing they would release a model that loses to unnecessary features while keeping the great image, color and lighting adjustments, at a better price.
Can you please do a full review HP 430 fhd webcam. Also tell what lighting setup you use while testing the webcams. Please compare it with other webcams🙏🙏
Thank you for a great intro and review. Can you please advise if the camera can be controlled entirely from a smartphone and without the Insta360 software installed on the PC? The scenario is corporate Windows PCs where installation of unapproved 3rd party software is not possible.
I actually bought it. You have to install the Windows/Mac software. From the software, there is a button that connects to your phone over Wi-Fi. There is no separate phone app. It will not work in a restricted corporate setting. Sadly.
@@garchev1thank you for getting back to us! I have ordered one too due to lack of clarity from insta360 support. That’s very sad and a massive oversight… I am hoping that I can set it up on my MacBook and then plug it in to my locked down PC and hopefully the settings will be saved. Otherwise it will be returned asap.
Are the shitty frame rate jittery artifacts because of poor capture on your part, or are the cameras just not as good as you're trying very hard to make us believe?
Wondered why this was cheaper than the 360 Link.. I see its because they removed one of the gimbals. Sucks they wont add in the software improvements to it.
Is the 2C able to do the desk view without the gimbal? I dont really need all the tracking so im leaning toward 2C, but i often want to show things I'm working on my desk. Can it also achieve that? how does it compare to the 2?
Why doesn't the link 2 have a lense cover? I can think of one or two reasons, but why not just manufacture both models the same way instead of having difference processes? Also, why is 60fps such a hard ask?
The bokeh mode is a lot better than the background blur, other than that it just kind of looks like what I do in Google Meets at work. The color presets are very nice to have and being able to further save your own color presets - depending on how granular you can get with it - is also fantastic. The mic is not bad at all, and the sensor is awfully good for its size and for how shallow the glass is. I can see this being a really good camera for streaming and other talking heads. Between the $225-$250 (with the tripod bundle), I would have liked to see how the Link 2 does with moving, say outdoor video. And how long will the battery last. (Written on my gorgeous Mountain keyboard I got from some guy on Whatnot)
I use a Rode Go Mic II for audio but a Logitech c920 Pro for video. Only being used for Teams and Discord. I want a better webcam, but I feel that Teams just kind of craps on the video anyways... Think a $150-$200 upgrade would really improve anything once the VPN, Teams/Zoom compression, etc, destroy the quality?
I would use it for teams meetings at work, but I do not have admin rights on my work computer. What can and what cannot be used wothout the software installed? I have seen they have an app to male some settings, but their homepage does not specify any details. Does somebody know?
Amazing video, and very professionally done, thank you! Constructive criticism for you, get your hands manicured for videos that largly show your hands. Hangnails like that are off-putting. Take it to the next level on all areas of your shoots! Respect.
yeah? never heard of it. and on a cursory look on google top results and searching reddit 2024 webcam reviews and such. I cant find any mention at all about this web camera. Did however find the Elgato brand you mentioned along with Logitech, and some other brand i forget now. Thanks for the info. Oh this is an add. nevermind all makes since now
Hahahahah wait wait wait, you're telling me you searched lists containing webcams of the last 9 months and you're surprised something that came out TODAY isn't on them? lmao all time dummy post here ladies and gentlemen 😂
2:30 | While yes, the Insta360 Link 2 & the Link 2C webcams are cheaper than the Elgato Facecam Pro, the Elgato webcam can do 4K 60, whereas the Insta360 webcams can only do 4K 30.
As a Link 1 owner, I'd really like to see a comparison. I love my original 360 Link - and I can't really see, outside of some of the more gimmicky features, if quality has increased from the previous version. It seems that they just turned on some blurring features that are locked behind software rather than hardware. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ One huge upgrade though, is PRICE. This thing is going to completely annihilate the competition.
Incredible how far this has come in this form factor.... The clarity and bokeh are crazy good....
The FPS feels inconsistent, which is disappointing, especially since it's not running at 60fps. Hopefully, this gets fixed in future updates.
Send one over please :D
Does the Link 2 support Windows Hello?
send me one too 😀
Is this a Sony Starvis 2 IMXxxx sensor ?
Let us sync many links together for our live streams. Update your app please.
The framerate looks off, What's with that ?
🤔 looks like the shake to me, cos it's just on top of a laptop screen not on a tripod
I want to see it compared to the original Link. Is the image quality any better? The new model loses the ability to rotate 90° to a vertical orientation by itself (not a big deal though).
I noticed the Link C isn't choppy like the Link 2. What's up with that?
Me too. Why is the original link still more expensive than the new model? Doesn't make sense
Yeah, losing the ability of the camera being able to rotate 90º kind of sucks, considering how many people are shooting vertical content
Which one hands down the best do you recommend for streaming? How do you thing the insta360 link2 compares to: Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra or the
Elgato Facecam Pro Web Camera, 4K UHD ? I have been looking for something for ages but I cannot decide which one
Does the Insta360 Link 2 support Windows Hello for login and filling in passwords?
No, it can't as Windows Hello cameras need infra red camera to be harder to fake the real person with an image.
Now this is one of the best small webcams I've ever seen. A lot of them make a lot of false promises but this one looks great!
I see that you've connected this through a usb cable. Can it work via bluetooth? Why are we using cables still in 2024? I understand for charging but can the best webcam work wirelessly?
Hi Frank! Great video, would you mind doing a comparison between the Link 1 and 2? Thanks!
How are the Razer BlackShark V2 X been holding up?
Is the USB variant worth it?
The quality is crazy good!!
I have the original and use it daily. Don't use the mic though as it sounds muddy, and it appears that the new one is the same. I use a Shure MV7X for audio for all my work calls. So far this is working great for me.
My only problems with the first model was the price an now it’s minimum $149???? Insane. I’ll be picking one up soon
It ain't a true webcam review without FrankP reviewing it!
So whats the difference between the original link and the Link 2? Is it worth the upgrade? The app looks different as well
What stand do you use?
Help, I can not seem to activate the Backgrounds... any idea how to activate so the background features is working?
This video made me want this. I've been waiting for something like this for ages
Hi I have the first Insta360 Link but how much better is The Insta360 Link 2 compare to the original? also is it 4K60 and HDR? And lastly how is The Insta360 Link 2 in very low light like in a dark room but just the light from the TV / computer screen?
obviously it got better it's a new version but is it worth buying?
Excellent review! Is there a way to configure this as an Apple HomeKit camera?
nice video, am curious - would you be replacing your video setup with the link 2?
The audio sounds great!
Thanks you!
holy shit the quality is crystal clear. ordering it now
Can you answer worth it for a guitar player that want to record videos and lessons?!
Can you hook this up to your phone or tablet?
Does the quality of either of these webcams get reduced if you use the USB-C to USB-A adapter? Or does it remain the same?
How’s the quality in low light conditions?
This is fantastic news (even though I already gave in to the high-priced model). For years I've been wishing they would release a model that loses to unnecessary features while keeping the great image, color and lighting adjustments, at a better price.
Is posible use this cam as a record video blogging?!
Thanks for the review, but does the Link C, have the portrait functionality?
Yup, I talked about it
@@randomfrankp , thanks. I also checked the specs from the site. :)
For the 6 x pre-sets , can we adjust the orientation for each of the pre-set?
13:58 I had the same thought about the magnetic mount, that they missed a trick by not having it be able to mount like that.
Is it worth upgrading from the og link?
Nope
Can you please do a full review HP 430 fhd webcam. Also tell what lighting setup you use while testing the webcams. Please compare it with other webcams🙏🙏
Frank killing it with the uploads. It's definitely Techtember. 👍
Thank you for a great intro and review. Can you please advise if the camera can be controlled entirely from a smartphone and without the Insta360 software installed on the PC? The scenario is corporate Windows PCs where installation of unapproved 3rd party software is not possible.
Curious about the same - any confirmation?
Same here.

This is amazing, I have been wanting the Insta360 for a while and now I might make the move to the Link 2!
just ordered one - the insta360 link
I was looking into this one vs the OBSBot 2 4K. Ended up going OBSBot and sk glad i did. I absolutely love it ❤️
since this is usb-c, is it possible to connect and use this with your phone?
Great question 🙋
What's the lenght of the USB C cable from the Insta360 Link 2?
Does the mount have any ability to go on a tripod or anything like that?
Yes I showed the mounting thread
@@randomfrankp I watched this video twice because it's brilliant, & I missed this part both times.
I am, indeed, an inescapable idiot. 💯
lol all good!
if you use the mic for a meeting, would it not pick up and echo the sound and voices coming out of your speakers?
I would like to get it but even on other Insta360s there is this chopiness that I cannot unsee. Not sure if due to fps or their encoding.
I noticed that in this review too. The frame rate looks closer to 15 than 30. I have the original Link and it doesn't do that.
what is that black profucts blocking the screen.
Incredible how far we've come as far as webcams. I might grab one for myself and one for the wifey.
Wow, the video quality looks very good 💯
how does the insta360 link C compare to Obsbot meet 2?
Is there any way you could mount this on a television set to do FaceTime with and not plug it into a computer?
Frank... you looking fly as hell. that shirt is 💯
Isn't the image sensor identical from gen 1?
Is the Insta360 Link 2 better than the Elgato Facecam Pro? any comparisons? Any experience?
not sure about others, but i know this one is not better than obsbot
Not bad, this might be best option for this budget
Are the shitty frame rate jittery artifacts because of poor capture on your part, or are the cameras just not as good as you're trying very hard to make us believe?
Is it compatible with Elgato stream deck +???
Curious about the same - any confirmation?
How can I connect Insta360 Link 2 to Android Phone for control app on Phone?
Wow, these look amazing. I was considering the Dell 4k cameras, but this seems legit.
If you are using it with a work computer that doesn't let you install software is it still usable?
Is it bettet than the OBSBOT Meet 2?
Can the link C do portrait?
hmm no image comparison between the old link
Wondered why this was cheaper than the 360 Link.. I see its because they removed one of the gimbals. Sucks they wont add in the software improvements to it.
The first one is VERY good. I use it everyday
Noise cancellation works, but the voice sounds slightly muffled at times.
i love how they use Lens blur instead of Gaussian blur like most software
all them companies with the 4k30 why not 4k60 if not 4k60 then 4k48 even OBS gives you the option to put it into 48fps Film
You're looking fresh Frank. Whatever you're doing with the hair/diet/clothes, keep it up 👍🏻
It's so great to see some innovation in the webcam space. It took a while.... lol
Is the 2C able to do the desk view without the gimbal? I dont really need all the tracking so im leaning toward 2C, but i often want to show things I'm working on my desk. Can it also achieve that? how does it compare to the 2?
Yup, just attach it to the included base and tilt it downward
Does it have Windows Hello support?
I thought for a sec your background was a fake background... that's how good your background is. 🙌🏻
Wish you could make a comparision with insta360 link
Why doesn't the link 2 have a lense cover? I can think of one or two reasons, but why not just manufacture both models the same way instead of having difference processes? Also, why is 60fps such a hard ask?
They support 60fps! (at 1080p tho)
When is not in use, it automatically faces completely down
I've been using the original Insta360 Link for some time and I love the improvements that they made, too bad I don't have the money to upgrade D:
Can you do a handcam witht he link C?
Great in-depth review! Sub and Like added!
Not sure which one is better but I got one obsbot anyway this image quality seems better than this one

also the old one ran at 60 fps if I remember, and this only does 30?
I picture quality is good, but it looks a little choppy/stuttery to me. I want to replsce my Facecam Mk2 with this but need smooth frames.
I prefer the look and feel of obsbot, it’s just easier to use.

Link C seems fine especially with the $50 saving.

I think too many setting to adjust.. for me, obsobt is much more user-friendly and straightforward!
Holy shi this looks amazing
More like smartphone quality it’s like night and day compared to a DSLR
Yep
I had hoped you would show how the fake backgrounds work in conjunction with gimbal tracking.

I was expecting it to cost atleast $300. That’s a great deal. Now I wanna ditch my elgato cam lol.

It’s the same sensor, just in a different body for $150 less
@@randomfrankp Thanks! Yeah, that price is killer!
The obsbot 2 lite and meet 2 seem to have a better image quality than this. The tiny 2 by obsbot has a big step up in image quality to all 3.
6:19 the best security camera without being meant to be one.
I prefer Obsbot
I'll pick up their new model and compare!
