I love this song & since revisiting, can't get it out of my head. Peggy Lee had a great voice & knew how to express the meaning of every song. This movie was so so when first released, but now it has become a classic. Joan Crawford proved she was a great actress by being in a role, that was completely different than the other's she had appeared in. Sterling Hayden was a great match with Ms. Crawford & they sizzled on the big screen. The movies of today are no match compared with Hollywood's Golden Age.
A Nicholas Ray masterpiece. One of Joan's and Sterling's best movies and lovely to see them all in colour! Great film; hauntingly beautiful song by Peggy Lee.
Yes friend, there are many beautiful western songs that have had worldwide success. Greetings. ua-cam.com/video/8W0dAakU1Mc/v-deo.html *HAPPY COWBOY* Guitar cover by *Billy Vaughn*
It’s funny because at the time it broke the mold for what it meant to be a western movie. It had artsy shots with highly saturated colors and a powerful woman in a lead role. Nowadays, however, it’s seen as a classic of the genre.
Sterling Hayden disliked Joan Crawford so much after making the film, he said "there isn't enough money in Hollywood for me to make another picture with Crawford"
Joan was a psychopath. Everybody knows that she also fought with Mercedes during that movie and in a fit of rage threw all of Mercedes clothes on the freeway so that Mercedes would see them when she drove to work that morning. Joan was a child abuser as we all now know.
It got panned by a lot of American critics but was well received in Europe. I personally really like the film and thought Crawford was great. She may not be pretty or sexy but she had a charisma and unique presence on screen.
@@LamkwaiLamkwai Critic Dennis Schwartz recalls: "Francois Truffaut said it reminded him of 'The Beauty and the Beast,' with Sterling Hayden being the beauty."
Scott Brady was a very handsome man , but his roles made gave him the image of a constant bad guy who, graced the screen with that excitement, just think if he would have been a good guy on the screen, I just became 15 years old again. Good acting is great acting , you had that Scott Brady, you had that charismatic charm .
Now I understand why Fallout New Vegas development team picked this Johnny Guitar music... but most in-game casino and bars just feel too prosperous to actually fit in such music... good to know that how this music came from!
This is my favorite. It's so sad and reminds you you're not just in a nuclear themed park but an actual wasteland with people with just as many feelings and heartaches you gave.
Oh my God the video game ripped off this movie lol. Does anyone else wish there was a way for all the generations to connect their nostalgia together? We would be invincible.
I absolutely love this movie and this song!!!! This song is filled with so much emotion and creates such a strong feeling. It really touches me in my core. =')
What a beautiful music ! It makes us vibrate of emotion *** Qué canción tan hermosa.
The film is mainly remembered for the theme song and for the unusual Joan Crawford, which for the first time she plays a role in Westerns. One of her best performance. Thank you Craig!
I wonder if Scott Brady would..ve been a good guy instead of a bad lot. His looks would.ve seared my soul anyways.. he was embellished with talent for having that astringent evil look. Bravo Scott, you were perfection, the devil would.ve lost the “showdown with just one look. And guess what? He always did come to think of it. You added that extra spice to the word “action”.and evil. In any event he was, a good looking guy. I think.to the victor the spoils.
First heard a cover of this song by Anna Murphy and later stumbled upon this. Never even knew it was a cover of a movies title song. What I meant to say anyway is that IMO the cover sounds better, it's way more expressive but I guess that's mostly owed to the style they used back then, 59 years before the cover.
You have blended scenes from the film beautifully with the exiting song by Miss Peggy Lee. It is a most extraordinary Western, isn't it? And who would have been better in her role than Joan Crawford?
man this song reminded me of mega man x3 blizzard buffalo i love rap hip hop but thier is the side. of me that LOVES disco RnB 70s 80s music video game beats i used to have the greatest western themes CD my dad got tired of me taking his lol i loved the Cd lol
You are absolutely right Alan! A difficult and complex personality that of Crawford, but also a great actress. I wanted to take the same song from the movie. If you saw the film, Peggy Lee sings this song in the finale. Thank you very much Alan!! Have a great evening to you too friend!!
Hey Ingrid, is a pleasure hear you. This music is associated with the film. Peggy Lee sang the song, from the same film. Thank you for your appreciation! Here too it is very hot! We arrived even at 32°-33° and in some places 40° I wish you a wonderful weekend!!
Mirko, your tribute is fantastic and as always super edited. The song is dreamlike. I remember sometime, I have enjoyed a movie trailer. Yes, film and song are inextricably associated. After, all the wonderful scenes were mentioned, I agree with the praise and thank you very much for sharing my friend - and wish you a pleasent weekend. ( Here in Austria are 33 ° heat.)
only guitar players will notice this... the guitar at 3 seconds in is a different guitar than 20 seconds in, they switched it for whatever reason.. guitar A had a trapeze style tailpiece n what looks like a floating bridge.. only 3 fret markers.. a rosewood headstock.. guitar B at 20 seconds, has a regular straight bridge, no fret markers, and what looks to be a pearloid headstock overlay, or just lighter color wood. also if im not mistaken guitar A is rosewood guitar B is mahogany in color... food for thought

a Great Western I saw as a young man and liked so much. One reason of it being unforgettable was the beautiful song by PEGGY LEE. Love it !💖💖

I first heard this song in Fallout: New Vegas and it's brought me back to looking up old classics. I love where it's brought me!
I got really into Peggy Lee songs for sure. She sings the last parts of this song.
Yep.
Such a great film. Joan Crawford is awesome & Sterling Hayden is perfect in it. Has to be one of the greatest films ever.
Never forgot this beautiful sad song by the incomparable Peggy Lee. Brings a tear.

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
@Drako-shi Yeah... thats why you are wearing your power armor dummie...
@Drakoshi Yeah, like Jannis Scholz said, and that's also why you have Rad-X and Radaway dummie...🙄

True grit was a good western

Only Western that Joan Crawford acted in
@@NoctuaOlivae Two powerful women in lead roles.
GOOD, VERY GOOD WESTERN. STERLING HAYDEN, AND JOAN CRAWFORD.. BEUTIFUL SONG JOHNY GUITAR.
The sand storm, the place lost in the middle of no where, the sound of the wind, the start of this film is like a gothic tale.
Sterling Hayden disliked Joan Crawford so much after making the film, he said "there isn't enough money in Hollywood for me to make another picture with Crawford"
This performance is so very feeling and beautiful. Thankyou

This song is better than most songs of today!

One of my prefered western with the marvelous Sterling Hayden.
The film will be remembered for the strong presence of Joan Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge in addition to the music. Thank you Ellen!

She has a big mouth hahaha Now I only realized that with so much liplicks on I am sorry to say she is not pretty in this Johnny guitar

It is one of the highest rated American films of all time, and was loved by the directors who would go on and form the French New Wave.
A beautiful love story.
May God save you all from the coronavirus, sending you love from Iraq
I want to shake Crawford's hand. ❤
all the great film love stories are excruciatingly painful, johnny guitar and casablanca being two great examples, even gone with the wind or laura
