watch how he times the vox with the start of each run down of the riff. riff is going to be muscle memory at that point. you rehearse that part for a stupid amount of time...then you can focus on your pronunciation and lyrics

Karl is probably the best musician in the whole death metal scene, in any country. Everybody tries to be so brutal and badass on the stage but seriously, look at him, smiling all the time and not giving a fuck. Just enjoying the view of his fans going crazy to his music. I fucking love this man
I think it’s fair to say though that there’s a lot of brutal fucking performers in the death metal scene who are just truly and utter possessed by the music they’re playing rather than trying to appease fans and look “badass”. Vitriol and old school Behemoth are some of the best examples I can think of for what I’m talking about. Nothing wrong with being badass as long as you fuckin mean it.
