Brilliant vid bro Thanks. I have'nt got a table saw, only my beloved band saw and chop saw. Been looking for weeks for this !!!!!!! (A happy 74 yr old from the UK :)

Great job on a tricky board! I've always been intimidated of the idea of making a 3D board but I'm a bit more confident with videos like these! Love to see another complex board but I'm hoping that you have a videographer so I won't get sea sick again!

@Joziah Kamdyn I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I have read many articles that you should use Titebond III instead of II for cutting boards. Just a FYI. You did make it look so simple. I had a hard time looking at the diamonds, all I saw was 3D.. Great vid!
Titebond 3 gives you only more open time vs titebond 2. Both are food safe. T3 is waterproof T2 is water resistant. No-one keeps cutting boards submerged for hours,
Looks awesome bro dude! Couple things, use 120 grit or higher for cleaning the saw marks before gluing and use wider rubber bands and lots of them. Cheers for the video.
Thanks for explaining the process of building the board. Most of the cutting board videos, the people just play lame music. Like watching a really boring music video
Great video. Now, what the hell am I doing wrong? I cut blocks diamond shaped. If you stack them they are even all 3 sides. When I lay them out there is no way they come together. I noticed the middle edges top/bottom do not line up. Hope that makes sense. Driving me nuts. Cut all at 30 degrees
Hi Jeff , did you try it on cheap scrap like pine to make sure you have it set on the right mark. I’ve screwed up a lot before and and it takes forever to get the right cut.
It's about shop safety and specifically table saw safety in this video. People who are new to woodworking need to be conscious of, and know proper shop safety. Running a table saw with no riving knife or blade guard and making passes with your fingers inches from the blade is careless, ignorant, and extremely dangerous. Great finished project, but it should be stated that safety precautions have been ignored in this video.
You didn't use the end grain for the board's surface. End grain is much better for a cutting board Apart from the pattern you may just as well have used a plain flat board.
@@BeatlesBlackMagicMusic you use end grain for cutting boards not for strength but over time with a knife cutting into it the end grain doesn't show the cut marks.
The hands close to the table saw blade makes me cringe. Great looking work, just get a gripper and an outfeed table before your hands get flung into the blade.
@@BeatlesBlackMagicMusic no worries my brother from the north. i cant tell you thank you enough for putting this out there. retired medic from nyc with ptsd and man i was just browsing and saw this and its opened a new outlet for me. thank you Beatle BandSaw peace!
Nope never used it once got it for free from some lady down the street giving out free stuff eh. So it sat there for about one year or so and I was cleaning out the spiders from the shop and figured when am I gonna use this hunk of junk anyway eh.
Thank you for sharing. You explained how to do this art very well. Majority of other woodworkers just do it without saying anything
Badass! I'm going to make a tabletop like this. Thanks for the video. You're a great teacher.

Powerful stuff. Thank you so much for the video it really helps a lot.
Love that Qbert look!!
Beautiful cutting board. Excellent instruction.
This is a great video! I'm currently working with my dad and he's showing me how to make one, so that I can have my own cutting board. 😁
Great work well done.
How many individual pieces of each type of wood did you cut to make the board?
This is the best video on how to make a 3d cutting board. Thank you.
Great great and beautiful piece man!! Thanks a lot for sharing and take care with the power tools! Regards.

Is the glue and oil both food grade? I would want to be able to cut food on it. Have good days!

It turned out beautifully! Good luck!
That’s awesome!!! i can’t wait to try one! Thanks!
Nice looking board, now you just need to make it an end-grain board to be of premium quality.
Good job I’m a try it
Nice work.. I have some doubts about the strength of the bond using that rubber bands. How is the board holding?
Amir Kalaji I’ve done a table with it and still holding up strong 💪
@@BeatlesBlackMagicMusic Thanks! I will try it. Hope mine is half as good as yours!
Very nice cutting board, you should build and sell a few and get yourself a dust collector or a shopvac
Good woodworking skills, much appreciated. Your camera work made me nauseous.
Lets see your camera work.
He did a very good job on this board.. but there's a better easier way to make this cutting board. 👍👍👍👍👍

this was a very simple informative video thanks
Next time you make one make the grain of the opposing each other you will end up with your three color blocks looking like a box.
I enjoyed the video and the build. I just wish u were a little safer. Board looks very cool man!
my shop is a OSHA violation. I still have all my fingers and toes
Question, what is the length and width of the board
Dust collector A must!!!!!!
What is the length of the board at the end?
So Good
What were the final dimensions of the board?
That tablesaw looks like an accident waiting to happen
And he still makes a great looking cutting board. What do you make besides shit comments.
Jerk !!!

Use an angle finder and transfer your cut line.
How long were your original boards, six feet?
They might of been. I just cut them to 3ft so it would be easy to work with.

nice..

Good video. Cheers mate.
I’m wondering why no PPE or dust collection? You are asking for cancer, allergies, or emphysema.
3/4" stock??
how long are your 2 inch boards ?
i think they were 2 ft boards
You didn't use the end grain for the board's surface. End grain is much better for a cutting board Apart from the pattern you may just as well have used a plain flat board.
Geoff Sims yes end grain is stronger and more durable but but we’re talking about hard maple walnut and cherry all solid wood it will last man

Hey, awesome project. I’m curious, what were the final dimensions on your cutting board?
Nathan Jenkins I’m guessing L-16 W-8 inches but you can really make it as big as you want
Nice Job! How long were your stock boards?
Mark Estrella Thanks mark, I don’t remember but if I had to guess probably close to 3ft boards
hey man that board is AWESOME..thank you for sharing hey how many feet each did you cut? again thank you peace
David Persico sorry I don’t remember the exact amount my guess would be 2 1/2 or 3 foot boards
