i didnt play swtor for a long time, but i still remember that x-52 was the best sniper rifle and you could get one with hud scope. Vendetta armor and that rifle = you are a classic Empire elite sniper
I haven't played in years but you perfectly described what my sniper was like from launch. Tac hud heavy sniper with the tionese set in black/ red dye and a comlink earpiece/headset that made it look like my guy was actually using it when calling in orbital strike.
I adore the sniper rifle you get during Rishi, I keep going back to it even though I have the grey bowcaster as my 'main' weapon of choice. I just love the design.
I've got a black and red theme going on my sniper character with the Expert Outlaw pieces and the Red Efficiency Scanner. And the Stronghold Defender's Sniper Rifle goes great with the look.
Shout out for the PW-12 Plasma Core Sniper Rifle, comes with the strap tuning built in, not overly sci-fi or too normal todayish looking, scope is decent sized not too big or small or missing altogether or just outright silly, has some glowy parts along the barrel that change with the color crystal, and maybe most importantly doesnt sound ridiculous either.

I need to be ready for the next BBA event, one of the cosmetic looks for my sniper is the power ranger themed one and a bowcaster would absolutely be the perfect touch for the look
I've got first Legacy items from Chevin event and then first Gree event, was one of first to use these on server. I think it mattered more then than now.
Will they ever bring back the chevin event? I barely know what it is and have just heard about it from really old players. I've been playing since 2014 and never saw it
Sadly probably not, it was not designed be played a second time since it is so old. All the rewards from it are available thru other methods now though!

Yes, but you earn it the same way as you would any other piece of gear. They go up to 306 the same way. Check this tip out - swtorista.com/articles/gearing-up-solo-at-level-75/ read the section #3 Spoils of War Vendor this should help you a lot!
Me only using the sniper rifle from the first flash point : lul Feeling like a drug dealer, cause i found a lot of unique snipers from random drops, and just sell them on the gtn for ridiculous amounts.
random drops are not unique, I doubt they can be sold for "ridiculous amounts". Unless the buyer is dumb and/or not aware of real value of the item they buy ;).
My favourite sniper rifle is the Indomitable Raider's Sniper, i love the look, colour and the fact it has a laser sight :) . I used it on my first ever Agent.
The only reason I played as a sniper in the game was when they first released the Tac-HUD rifle. Back then all sniper rifles on the GTN were insanely cheap because it was such a specific class weapon. Once I saw that rifle I knew, that was the only way I was ever going to play the Agent.

I probably won't cover that soon, but in general, there is not a ton of "great" unlocks to feel like a sub. Most of them are cosmetic like.. unify colors, or companion customizations. Just look through the unlocks section on the cartel and see if there's any that you would find annoying if you didn't have them. Even Artifact Auth is a bit of a waste to buy these days.

My favorite lineup of weapons in SWTOR is the WL-29 production line. They sound good and look nice, I just wish they'd have more pixels in them.
My favorite is the Imperial E-1 Enforcer Sniper Rifle with Red Crystal (since color crystals also change the paint and scope lense on this weapon)

Would recommend the Mantellian Frontline Sniper to add to your "Wooden Snipers" collection! It has a rustic look and even a folding stock!

I'm so glad BL-28 Sniper made it on this list. I recently came back to swtor after a 5 year break, and I still love the look of it.

The sniper rifle of sniper rifles is the X-500 Wraith Sharpshooter. (ask any sniper main who played since launch) + vendetta armor.

My favorite sniper rifle is the Corellian K5 Sniper with the strap attachment tuning for its simplicity.
