@@kingsosa2481 I think Joker is definitely the better villain considering that while Bane is a phenomenal villain, Joker is essentially tailored specifically to Batman. Bane could be an effective villain for nearly any fictional character. Joker was such an effective villain because he specifically targeted all of Batman's weaknesses and broke him down through those weaknesses, Bane didn't.
I guess I'm not the only one who love the dark night rises more than the dark night. The hole scene was phenomenal. 'Then make the climb. Without the rope. Then fear will find you again'. Love it!
Interesting that u didn't mention the scene where Bruce escapes from the well. It was best scene...u get goosebumps no matter how many times u watch that scene
i tried to keep it as close in points but rises to me just had so many better parts and i had to cut some parts out to mention but that was one i had but didnt make it into the video
Loved that scene as well. Very inspiring. My favorite scene was at the very end, when Alfred saw Bruce in that restaraunt and saw that Bruce was still alive and finally happy. Just like Alfred had told Bruce he dreamed about earlier in the movie.
Very underrated movie. Reminds me of Marvel’s Captain American: The Winter Soldier. The impending sense of doom in The Dark Knight Rises gives eeriness that is nonexistent in the preceding movies of Nolan’s trilogy. The Joker’s mystique in The Dark Knight provides us with uncertainty but throughout the movie Batman always seemed in control and the clear winner. In TDKR, stripping Bruce Wane of all his money along with Alfred sets the tone and shows Bruce isn’t invincible leaving him the underdog with a seemingly predetermined fate. Loved the story and what it stands for. The character development in TDKR was unmatched by BB and TDK. Best movie in the trilogy and great ending to the trilogy.
The Dark Knight Rises is not better than The Dark Knight, but I still love it. The Dark Knight Rises is a lot better than I remember. I mean The Dark Knight Rises had a better ending, a better story, a better soundtrack, and a better theme. But then The Dark Knight has a better villain.
I will give you DK has the better villain , but I don’t agree w the story , DK really bogs down , and the stuff w the two boats and the sequence w Lao just seem drawn out. I think I like the Rises music better . And the feeling of Armageddon and chaos is Gotham in Rises I love
The Dark Knight Rises has a better story and is more entertaining in general. But The Dark Knight is more realistic and a better made film in terms of less plot-holes. The female lead though was hideous.
Better villian doesn't make a better movie. If Joker was way better than Bane, then I might agree. But he wasn't. Overall, I enjoyed Dark Knight Rises much more.
I respect your opinion, but with regards to the thing you said about the joker, I never felt that he needed a motive and I don't think I'm alone in this. But I understand what your saying though.
if he didnt have a motive thats fine , he didnt have a affinity or thing for batman like jokers of the past. i just dont jive with this joker as much as others
Watched them all again recently. I think the reason I prefer Batman Begins and Rises is because they're more focused on Bruce. Dark Knight is more of a gotham city story.
i think they had Bane portrayed pretty well in rises. Talia was the leader of the group and Bane was the first in command and ultimately willing to sacrifice himself for her
I like TDKR more as well. Like the other guy said the pit scene was Def one of the best scenes. Bruce Wayne was one of the 2 persons ever to escape from that pit. Regaining his fear to die again. Although I do like the joker from ledger much more than Nicholsons. Huge Nicholson fan. For me top 5 best actors ever. But ledgers joker is legendary and I do believe even if he didn't die he would get the Oscar. Now TDKR. it's long but time flies by. Agreed with the cons btw from TDK. boat scene also I didn't like. It has less re-watch value. Weird cause it's for me still one of the best movies. I like Bane as much as I like the joker. I like the sequences with the bat. I love when batman reappears after 8 years. For me TDKR is one of my favorite movies of all time and has great re-watch value. Opening scene also better than TDK for me. I don't understand the bitching about this movie. It's just people just love to repeat what others say without even knowing what they say. One more thing. The back break scene and fight was heart breaking and spectacular. One word. I LOVE TDKR. thanks for giving props to this underrated masterpiece.
thank you for the positive feedback and input. Very well said. I love the whole feel of TDKR and sound more than TDK. For me Rises has better flow and consistency . I thought TDK felt like it was more of like multiple movies w diff storylines put together and i didnt feel like it jelled as well as TDKR. I just didnt love the whole bruce wayne , harvey dent , rachel thing, it didnt feel natural. I can pop in TDKR and watch it WAY more than dark knight. Im just not able to sit through and enjoy TDK nearly as much as i can TDKR.
@@AvgJRetro agreed totally. Don't like the wayne, Rachel and Dent thing either. And yeah now you mention it. It does feel like multiple movies with different story lines. Messy. I also didn't like the forgot the name of the guy who tried to tell everybody batmans identity. With Wayne saving him. The concept is nice but how it's worked out is a bit messy imo. I remember i came out of the theatre and was disappointed liking BB more. TDK is a masterpiece imo. But a flawed one. The ending is great with batman taking the fall. But just like you say I can now I'm thinking about TDKR also put the disc in and watch it again. It's intelligent and highly entertaining.. TDK sometimes I think let's watch it but just don't feel like to watch it. Yesterday I saw your video and immediately I wanted to re-watch TDKR. a strange thing with this trilogy. But for me TDKR is the best one and the most consistent one. Most entertaining one. Etc. And thank you for also appreciating TDKR for what it is. For me a masterpiece. It's one of nolans best looking movie imo... O yeah. One more thing. Banes quotes are ridiculously good and smart. Don't k iw how they came up with that writing. It's insane.
@@israelbuzzofftothemoon i saw both TDK and TDKR at theaters and i knew immediately when i walked out of the TDKR that that movies I loved more and was one of my fav movies
I think the biggest factor, and advantage, is CatWoman. Anne did an awesome job in that role. Not to mention the chemistry between her and Brue. The scene where they are dancing and playing their “persona’s” it’s perfect. “I’m playing Bruce Wayne eccentric Billionaire. I also appreciate how you like the original Joker. Batman 1989 is my favorite for that reason 🦇
@@AvgJRetro 100% he was also accurate to the comics with his persona, behavior and gimmicks. Ledger was awesome, but that version of Joker was not like how it was portrayed in the comics. Regardless, awesome performance by Ledger, but no one tops the GOAT jack. I also love the practical prosthetics they used for his looks
one thing about rises i like is how alfred and bane know bruce wants to die basically hes given up the will to live....and how he finds himself again at the end away from batman...but i did not like how talia just dies at the end..in the comics she loves bruce too much heck they have a son who becomes a new robin so it is weird to change her character so much to not sorta hear him out and her plan is so convoluted and basically only meant to be a shock but we comic fans already know she is talia so that was a lame build up to a nothing reveal for us...they even foreshadow it in the movie cause you can tell its a girl not a boy who escaped and also her loyalty to the league of assassins' and ras is stupid imo....they don't give her enough reason to care and betray the man she slept with...what was the point of that?..why steal his money?..why allow catwoman to break him out when talia knew that was not part of the plan?...shes written very poorly imo...the comic book version would try to help him save the day after regrets and guilt and out of love for bruce even over her own father..shes that kind of grey character just like catwoman..shes not that evil
Love both films, but I have always put The Dark Knight Rises above The Dark Knight. The trilogy is about Bruce Wayne’s journey as Batman and Rises ended that story perfectly, while also having him fight a foe that is stronger than he’s ever faced with Bane and coming full circle with the trilogy with the League of Shadows, I thought it was fantastic. Regarding the Joker in the Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan isn’t one to plan for sequels. In December 2008, he mentioned how he wrote a potential outline for a third Batman film, but didn’t want to go all in on the idea until a story came to him worth telling, so since he finally had some inkling of an idea for a continuation of Bruce Wayne’s story, so at that point in time the Joker would have never been a consideration for appearing in a third film, despite what people online say as they don’t ever site any reference where Nolan said Joker was supposed to be in a third film. It’s like people loved Heath Ledger’s Joker and were sadden by his death that they invented a story out of nowhere that Nolan intended for Joker to be in a third Batman film, likely during the making of The Dark Knight. The only time he thought of more than one Batman film was when he made Batman Begins, where he thought it would be interesting if they would be able to make a trilogy, but then disregarded that idea as he wanted to focus on Batman Begins only and make it the best film they could instead of planning for sequels that may never happen if Batman Begins was a failure. Producer Emma Thomas, Nolan’s wife, did say he pretty much had an idea of where he’d like Bruce Wayne to end up since Batman Begins, but whether that idea was implemented in The Dark Knight Rises, it’s never been completely clear. Apologies for the length of my comment, but this is a pretty good video and I wanted to sort of address the whole Joker in another Nolan Batman film that I’ve never seen/heard a direct quote from Nolan anywhere online, either in written form or a video for an interview nor has anyone been able to provide a link where Nolan ever said anything that could be taken as that being the case.
thank you for the feedback, i appreciate the compliment on the video. i just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there who like rises more than the dark knight cuz i really feel strongly its a better film and i enjoy it more.
@@AvgJRetro actually, leadger is close second for me. But jack Nicholson is still number 1 for me, like how bale is my second favorite Batman and number 1 for me is Keaton. Honestly, my top 3 would be Keaton, bale, and Pattinson.
Like why do people even saying rises is not that good And I gotta tell, I had a fun time watching Rises, I never get bored by shit, and the ending though, they really did the unthinkable
Omg thank you!!! I was so scared to say this feeling I would get flamed for it. I enjoyed the dark knight rises more than the dark knight. I don’t really see the plot holes and dumb things people complain about the movie.
I saw DK at theaters and everyone applauded and I just didn’t see the greatness of the film they saw I guess , or they were going along with it what many said and because the unfortunate circumstances they were going to overrate the greatness this film regardless
The way I cheered when you said Jack Nicholson joker was your favorite was amazing. Also I prefer rises to dark knight that’s why I clicked on this. Amazing.
It’s only opinion Dark knight was goat but rises was inspirational, emotional, goosebumps Lot of great scenes in this movie : Climb from pit Stadium , explotion Batman s broken back Batman s sacrifice Cops 👮♀️ vs banes army
highly disagree. but i can always respect some TDKR appreciation. criminally underrated. it’s not as great as the dark knight but it’s up there for sure.
it's always fun to discuss and have different takes. I wanted to love the dark knight and it to be the best one but i just didnt feel that after i watched it , and even after watching it many times i still feel the same.
The dark knight rises is absolutely a better movie than the dark knight. That’s not taking anything away from the dark knight, it was amazing and my favorite movie at the time of release, but subsequent watches diminished this feeling, and you said it; the joker and the opening scene, not to mention development of two face. The hong king scene was mid to me, same with the boat scene. Rises nails almost everything it does. From catwomans chemistry either Bruce and Batman, to bane, to Gordon, to the pit, scarecrow was back, the story was great, the ending was miles better than the dark knight. The dark knight was good but rises was the masterpiece.
Good points , I saw it at the theater and people clapped at the end and I felt it was more so to honor ledger than for how good the movie was, I walked out feeling like ok it was good but not as great as people talked about it being . I walked out of rises absolutely loving it . I walked out of Joker after seeing it on the theater and that one I honestly said to my son “ that might be one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen “
It’s def a better movie. Not by much , but still it’s better. The performance of the joker (cause it was so great) makes it seem like the DK was the better movie to most, but the writing , the action , the ending …DK rises is just brilliant. The cinematography was a nod better too
There is nothing wrong with this point of view. I feel the same way. The Dark Knight Rises is my favorite super hero movie and maybe my favorite movie, period. The movie is emotionally inspriing in ways that most super hero movies are not. Especially the last 10 - 15 minutes of the movie. I thought it was very inspiring how Bruce Wayne found the will to live again, escaped that prison, and came back to Gotham and defeated Bane. I just loved it. Where I disagree with you is regarding the Joker. Heath Ledger nailed the Joker, much better than Nicholson did. There is no rhyme or reason to what the Joker does, he just loves chaos and matching wits with Batman. Heath Ledger's version of Joker is much truer to the comic book version of the character.
i feel like the dark knights rises is the most satisfying movie. Ledgers joker may be more comic book accurate but I love Nicholson joker , i was 9 years old when i saw it and forever left a memory in my mind and will always love his version the best
Yes TDKR is better in every way, the opening outshines the opening of the bank in TDK 2 the way the movie is the ending battle is literally visually epic as hell. Literally TDKR IS A COMPLETE MASTERPIECE. Outshines every marvel movie to. Yes including endgame. But that’s another thing. Another thing Batman is fighting out in complete daylight which is rare in Batman movies and comics. And one last thing is Bruce’s ending, the whole trilogy is not a Batman trilogy, it’s a Bruce Wayne trilogy and Bruce Wayne finally got his happy ending. To me it was a better ending then Steve and Peggy’s dance. But either way TDKR is a masterpiece in the superhero genre
Not sure if I would call it a masterpiece. It has its own fair share of issues. The opening scene is definitely near the levels of the bank robbery, but I give it to the latter for the writing being better. It's a slightly better introduction for its villain.
Talia was his friend and he was as dedicated to her as his followers were to him. His expression when she leaves him is rlly great acting from Hardy. He kicked butt and outsmarted everyone the whole movie and all of his confrontations with Batman were amazing.
@@AvgJRetroI'm talking about Joseph gordon levitt's character not the reveal. He had as much screen time as Bale, Hathaway and Hardy. I just wasn't really interested in his character

For me, that TDK was better with Joker while Batman was just being passive. Hence, TDKR, I love when batman gets his own feet to climb up and for his redemption and sacrifice for the Gotham.
Gotta disagree with this take. The Dark Knight was definitely a better made movie from its flawless cinematography, to its extremely quotable dialogue, to the complex and layered story that goes beyond a simple action flick and asks philosophical questions about the nature of humanity, to everything else that The Dark Knight has. Rises is a phenomenal movie, but I wouldn't put these two in the same ballpark
@@theinvertedprotagonist being more entertaining isn’t all that’s there for a movie to be better. Otherwise every action movie would be better than movies like The Godfather or Citizen Kane

TDKR has a lot of great moments, but they are outweighed by too many dumb moments that are so glaring, u dont hv to nitpick for them to stand out like a sore thumb. Gordon still keeps his written speech about Harvey Dent, a STACK of papers, from a few days ago in his jacket when he’s captured by Bane. Really? Also the climax battle is neither thrilling nor well choreographed. Its a band of supposedly highly trained killers vs a group of highly trained cops. But what we get is an all out brawl with zero planning and suspense. I get that the cops are now exhausted and desperate, but i just dont feel the emotions we are supposed to feel for that climax. The ending is perfect though

i like rises more too but dark knight is a cleaner film that sorta subverts what you expect at the end...its more of a crime thriller while rises is more about bruce wayne.....some people just do not connect with bruce so rises is kinda meh to them...they prefer joker...i get it...
I like DKR better as well lol I got to verbal war with my family over this opinion but to comment on your joker point that is what always made Joker such a incredible villain is bc no one knows where he came from. The movie won’t have an origin story for him bc the comics don’t.
The Dark Knight obviously had the better villain & better thematic story but the staging of many scenes in the 1st act was dull & dragging (nobody will admit it) until *The scene where the fake batman is hanging* Its from this scene the movie somewhat picks up, but its not awesome like many make it out to be, the Joker's plan being so coincidental & some illogical scenes aside it was good till the end, that's it. The Dark Knight Rises was better staged, more entertaining & not as dark as the dark knight (which was more dull & grittier) The visuals of dark knight rises eats alive the Dark Knight & the adrenaline rush of seeing bane blow up the bridge & the 3rd act with batman returning despite the illogical sequence made up for an adrenaline rush that was sensational & finished the Nolan's batman arc on a high.
I don't agree about his passing he was phenomenal even if he didn't pass one of the greatest movies ever dkr has way too many plotholes great movie still but yeah
I watched the Dark Knight trilogy for the first time and I enjoyed both Batman Begins and TDKR more than the Dark Knight. Part of that may have been how much I heard TDK hyped up. Everyone said it was like the best movie and the best batman movie and so I was expecting it to be great, especially after loving Begins. But I just didn’t love it that much. It was a good movie for sure and Heath Ledger was fantastic, but the story and character development was not the greatest and I feel like a lot of it was focused on showmanship and aesthetic over anything else. Plus I hated its rendition of Dent so much. Two-face is meant to show how circumstances and darker impulses can turn the best of us into monsters, and versions of Harvey in the Long Halloween or Batman the Animated series show Bruce believing in and caring about Harvey, making his turn to insanity something that challenges Bruce’s faith in humanity. Instead Bruce hates this Dent and Harvey post accident just pisses me off rather than being an interesting and tragic villain. Also you’re right, no hate to Maggie Gyllenhaal and maybe it was just the writing but that whole plot line just fell flat and I could not care when she died. Rises however??? I freaking loved every second. There were definitely some parts of the execution that weren’t the best and some cheesy parts but the character development, ambitious storyline, and overall scale were fantastic. Where the Dark Knight felt really long to sit through, I was sad when Rises ended because I was just able to get immersed in the setting of Gotham more than most Batman media. Bane was amazing, I even liked the Talia reveal even though it was too late in the movie to utilize her more. Selina, John Drake, Gordon, even Folley(?)…everyone had a good arc. And oh my word, Bruce’s development was some of my favorite for his character that I’ve seen so far. “What are they saying? - “Prisoner: Rise” I got chills. Some braindead critic wrote that TDKR even got its own name wrong because why is it called Rises? Like did you even watch the movie? He rose out of a literal and figurative prison so that he could move forward in life and it was so freaking good. This has been my Ted Talk, but yes I agree with you😂
Funny i just wrote the same thing yesterday after watching it again. In fact I think the story was poor irrational and just written to set up the action

i'm not gona BS you , I don't or havent seen may super hero movies . I have misses ALOT of the iron man, capt. america etc. I like some but i dont catch many
The Dark Knight rises has the laziest writing in any Nolan film, how and why did batman make a bat sign on a building and light it on fire? Why did the scene where batman comes back for the first time transition from day to night in the blink of an eye? Bane broke Batman's back and destroyed him physically and Bruce's plan to beat Bane when he gets back? Punch harder. And this somehow works! What? Every cop is sent under ground? Why? So many stupid moments in Rises.
@@AvgJRetro I know what the fire was for but the Nolan trilogy was all about how could batman work in the real world and this was a huge oversight considering how meticulous batman begins was about explaining how everything works. This movie was clearly a WB squeezing Nolan for all they could get and he just didn't care as much anymore.
Did you even watch the final fight? Bruce's plan wasn't to punch Bane harder. He was fighting defensively compared to the first time where he used brute force and got owned, until he saw Bane's weakness which is his mask. He started targeting Bane's mask and that's how he won the fight. You guys don't even pay attention to the movie and yet still complain about it.

eh....dark knight rises relies too much on the other film...it needs that ground work to be good..and it has like 8 plotholes...and some wasted time..could of cut this film down like 10 minutes easily..if not 15...dark knight is superior in what its trying to be in its execution imo...i prefer dark knight rises but tdk tells a story where joker is in control and that changes the way we normally get films from the hero's pov and I like that...by the end joker still won...he planned all of it...that deserves more props then bane getting taken out by a gun randomly when he was about to kill bruce just like that after toying with him for so long all movie long how convenient and then how talia dies is a joke sorry...the villains are the difference in these 2 films...bane in the last 1/3 sucks compared to joker
@@AvgJRetro First off you gave too little pros for the dark knight. examples would be the interrogation scene, the writing for the dark knight was amazing, the music for tdk was beautiful, and gordon teaching his son about what batman is about at the end of the movie. you gave way too much cons for the dark knight which in my opinion were terrible cons. the actor who played harvey dent is criminally underated. my mouth dropped when in this video you liked that terrible twist at the end of tdkr. shit was wack how they wasted bane and that bum ass chick. also the prison scene wasnt that good. the first shot of bruce waking up in "hell on earth" but for some reason is getting the best treatment in his life. that robin ending was mediocre. there was nothing truly iconic to where years from now someone would talk about a certain scene from tdkr. also remember me saying how jim gordon is teaching his son at the end of tdk who batman is, " Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight." then we see him taking an 8 year break and for what. batmans not the type to take a break to that extent. theres just so much more i can say about both movies but i dont have the time rn lol.

Joker was such an effective villain because he specifically targeted all of Batman's weaknesses and broke him down through those weaknesses, Bane didn't.
@@errwhattheflip nah i dont know. Bane broke down batman physically and mentally. He outsmarted him too. Joker was great but he was just chaotic
Nolan's films are a reminder that superheroes aren't merely a frivolous distraction, but an embodiment of our best selves.
I think The Prestige just might be my favorite Nolan film
I guess I'm not the only one who love the dark night rises more than the dark night. The hole scene was phenomenal. 'Then make the climb. Without the rope. Then fear will find you again'. Love it!
I agree
They did the unthinkable of killing of Batman, I love that
Awesome stuff that whole sequence. Very inspirational. Dark Knight doesn't have that sense of awe that you get in the first and third installments.
Beg to differ. That scene could hv been shot/edited in so many better ways. And that was my first impression upon seeing it. Still my opinion
Best movie in the trilogy and great ending to the trilogy.
thats another reason i loved it , we see bruce wayne and batman as mere mortals with no money and no power.

How can you say that dark knight has a better story lol, maybe rewatch the movies?
@@iBMcFly I have rewatched these movies. Several times actually. Actually, you’re right. The Dark Knight Rises has a better story.

9:45 the only problem I had with that twist was that it felt like bane was being a pon like he was in Batman and robin but he was better in rises imo.
i think they had Bane portrayed pretty well in rises. Talia was the leader of the group and Bane was the first in command and ultimately willing to sacrifice himself for her
@@AvgJRetro yeah, but I just want a movie that bane is a full on villain and not have a twist like it was in rises.

without a doubt rises was a way more powerful film and left more impact on me at-least than the other two films in the trilogy.
i agree, i walked out of the theater saying Rises was all time great, i really love that film, i love it
I like TDKR more as well.

Thank you, I agree about their chemistry they work well together and she played a great catwoman. Joker jack to me was the best
This movie changed my life forever. My favorite movie of all time and this movie made become a spiritual and stoic person. TDKR is a masterpiece.
It’s such a great movie, the whole post apocalyptic feel , I loved this film when I first saw it and knew it was a all time favorite
one thing about rises i like is how alfred and bane know bruce wants to die basically hes given up the will to live....and how he finds himself again at the end away from batman...but i did not like how talia just dies at the end..in the comics she loves bruce too much heck they have a son who becomes a new robin so it is weird to change her character so much to not sorta hear him out and her plan is so convoluted and basically only meant to be a shock but we comic fans already know she is talia so that was a lame build up to a nothing reveal for us...they even foreshadow it in the movie cause you can tell its a girl not a boy who escaped and also her loyalty to the league of assassins' and ras is stupid imo....they don't give her enough reason to care and betray the man she slept with...what was the point of that?..why steal his money?..why allow catwoman to break him out when talia knew that was not part of the plan?...shes written very poorly imo...the comic book version would try to help him save the day after regrets and guilt and out of love for bruce even over her own father..shes that kind of grey character just like catwoman..shes not that evil
2:00 jack Nicholson is also still my favorite joker to date, heath Ledger is still really good though. He’s my third favorite joker.
Ledger was really good but the rest of the movie is what I have issues with that makes this movie less enjoyable than the others

And I gotta tell, I had a fun time watching Rises, I never get bored by shit, and the ending though, they really did the unthinkable
I really feel like if people were honest with themselves they would see that rises is better
Rises really get overshadowed not because of Dark Knight, but because of people saying its not that good making it feeling its actually bad
Omg thank you!!! I was so scared to say this feeling I would get flamed for it. I enjoyed the dark knight rises more than the dark knight. I don’t really see the plot holes and dumb things people complain about the movie.
neither do I, if i have a choice i will always watch rises over dark knight
In one watch, dark knight was better for me but dark knight rises have factors that you want to see again like the bane and batman fight
Amazing.
It’s only opinion Dark knight was goat but rises was inspirational, emotional, goosebumps
Lot of great scenes in this movie :
Climb from pit
Stadium , explotion
Batman s broken back
Batman s sacrifice
Cops 👮♀️ vs banes army
highly disagree. but i can always respect some TDKR appreciation. criminally underrated. it’s not as great as the dark knight but it’s up there for sure.
it's always fun to discuss and have different takes.
I walked out of Joker after seeing it on the theater and that one I honestly said to my son “ that might be one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen “
i love both of theses film
It’s def a better movie. Not by much , but still it’s better. The performance of the joker (cause it was so great) makes it seem like the DK was the better movie to most, but the writing , the action , the ending …DK rises is just brilliant. The cinematography was a nod better too
I know banes performance gets like mocked and spoofed but Tom Hardy did a great job as bane
Absolutely agreed best movie ever
But either way TDKR is a masterpiece in the superhero genre
i agree , i love rises . thank you for the view i appreciate it
Not sure if I would call it a masterpiece. It has its own fair share of issues. The opening scene is definitely near the levels of the bank robbery, but I give it to the latter for the writing being better. It's a slightly better introduction for its villain.
They turned Bane into a chump and I cannot forgive that.
I guess i disagree with the idea they made bane look like a chump. Compared to the Bane in Batman and Robin i thought he was pretty great.
@@AvgJRetro he was working for a dumb ass chick. since when does bane take orders
Talia was his friend and he was as dedicated to her as his followers were to him. His expression when she leaves him is rlly great acting from Hardy. He kicked butt and outsmarted everyone the whole movie and all of his confrontations with Batman were amazing.
Maybe for you, Bane is chump for a villain, but comparing the two movies with Batman performance, TDKR stands out.
I think there was too much "Robin" in rises
They didn’t reveal it till the end ? I enjoyed Joseph Gordon’s parts in the movie , to me it didn’t feel out of place or forced

i will always love DKR more than DK
Gotta disagree with this take. The Dark Knight was definitely a better made movie from its flawless cinematography, to its extremely quotable dialogue, to the complex and layered story that goes beyond a simple action flick and asks philosophical questions about the nature of humanity, to everything else that The Dark Knight has. Rises is a phenomenal movie, but I wouldn't put these two in the same ballpark
Better made doesn't automatically make it more entertaining.

The joker bankrupted the mafia in the Dark Knight film
I like DKR better as well lol I got to verbal war with my family over this opinion but to comment on your joker point that is what always made Joker such a incredible villain is bc no one knows where he came from. The movie won’t have an origin story for him bc the comics don’t.
The Dark Knight obviously had the better villain & better thematic story but the staging of many scenes in the 1st act was dull & dragging (nobody will admit it) until
*The scene where the fake batman is hanging*
Its from this scene the movie somewhat picks up, but its not awesome like many make it out to be, the Joker's plan being so coincidental & some illogical scenes aside it was good till the end, that's it.
The Dark Knight Rises was better staged, more entertaining & not as dark as the dark knight (which was more dull & grittier)
The visuals of dark knight rises eats alive the Dark Knight & the adrenaline rush of seeing bane blow up the bridge & the 3rd act with batman returning despite the illogical sequence made up for an adrenaline rush that was sensational & finished the Nolan's batman arc on a high.
I don't agree about his passing he was phenomenal even if he didn't pass one of the greatest movies ever dkr has way too many plotholes great movie still but yeah
The Dark Knight story -SUCKED but honestly neither one was on same level as Batman Begins
This has been my Ted Talk, but yes I agree with you😂
DK got so hyped up and after walking out of the theater i just wasnt impressed and thought it lived up to the hype
Batman begins is better than both.
Such a good movie , I think for me I go back and forth if I like begins or rises more, I wanted more of scarecrow
Funny i just wrote the same thing yesterday after watching it again. In fact I think the story was poor irrational and just written to set up the action
I think people only like the dark knight better because of the joker and not the plot which is not really a good reason in my opinion
Exactly, overall it’s not a better movie in my opinion. DK drags on and on
Agree 💯 The Dark Knight Rises is better
TDKR is a mess of a film with glorious plot holes and a lame ass villain twist
The Robin reveal sucked. His name is literally Robin? Why isn't his real name Dick or Jason or Tim? So dumb.
I guess maybe they thought if they said Dick or Jason or Tim not enough people would get the reference maybe? Thats my guess. i know the hardcore fans would get it but maybe not the casual ones
Yes
I don't agree with you but i respect your opinion
Thank you I appreciate the positive feedback
How would you ranked ever Batman movies?
I still have to watch the new Batman movie, but I am a huge fan of the Keaton films and that Batman and Joker
@@AvgJRetro ok, but what would you say is your favorite Batman movie?

I agree
But my favorite villain is joker
I think my favorite joker is jack Nicholson
Dude your not the only one so dont worry
Not really much to say but good video otherwise.
thank you much , thank for the positive input and checking out the channel
@@AvgJRetro yes it’s preston from twitch. But yeah this is a honestly good video.
Why? So many stupid moments in Rises.
i guess the fire was to let them know he was back ? I duno i think we agree to disagree on this , I love Rises so much more than DK
@@nooboi1510 so the first time batman fought bane it never occurred to him, a so called genius, to attack the glaring weak spot on Banes face? You're just excusing bad writing.
@@Awnos Batman wasn’t taking Bane seriously he thought of Bane as just another ordinary goon. That’s why Bane whooped Batman in the first fight. Batman took him seriously in his second fight and started figuring out his weaknesses.
Dam dislikes must be off the charts
From the feedback liking DKR more is not the popular choice . But I appreciate all comments opinions and thoughts , thats what makes this forum great
eh....dark knight rises relies too much on the other film...it needs that ground work to be good..and it has like 8 plotholes...and some wasted time..could of cut this film down like 10 minutes easily..if not 15...dark knight is superior in what its trying to be in its execution imo...i prefer dark knight rises but tdk tells a story where joker is in control and that changes the way we normally get films from the hero's pov and I like that...by the end joker still won...he planned all of it...that deserves more props then bane getting taken out by a gun randomly when he was about to kill bruce just like that after toying with him for so long all movie long how convenient and then how talia dies is a joke sorry...the villains are the difference in these 2 films...bane in the last 1/3 sucks compared to joker

wow terrible opinion
Please elaborate more
@@AvgJRetro First off you gave too little pros for the dark knight. examples would be the interrogation scene, the writing for the dark knight was amazing, the music for tdk was beautiful, and gordon teaching his son about what batman is about at the end of the movie. you gave way too much cons for the dark knight which in my opinion were terrible cons. the actor who played harvey dent is criminally underated. my mouth dropped when in this video you liked that terrible twist at the end of tdkr. shit was wack how they wasted bane and that bum ass chick. also the prison scene wasnt that good. the first shot of bruce waking up in "hell on earth" but for some reason is getting the best treatment in his life. that robin ending was mediocre. there was nothing truly iconic to where years from now someone would talk about a certain scene from tdkr. also remember me saying how jim gordon is teaching his son at the end of tdk who batman is, " Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
@@saiyan_angel9596 i gave dark knight less Pros because i didnt feel it had a ton i really liked, I am just not a aaron eckhart fan, or at least not as two face/harvey dent. the boat scene is just too long and didnt need to be drawn out like that, the scene capturing Lau dragged on. I prefer the music and look and feel of rises better. Was Heath great ..yes but i dont think it was better than Jack. I loved the post apocalyptic feel of rises. I am not sure why you disliked the plot twist in rises w Talia, i really enjoyed it. I think the dynamic and emotion between Alfred and Bruce in rises is second to none.
@@AvgJRetro if u cant show the respect Aaron Eckart deserves for his brilliant performance, but you can like that Talia twist at the end, means no one should be listening to your ideas about the movies. listen, tdkr is a good movie but not a good batman movie. batman literally did some pushups and all of a sudden can beat bane. cmon😂
@@saiyan_angel9596i think his portrayal of dnet and two face as brilliant is a farce and a great stretch, he was better than tommy lee jones which isnt saying much, but saying it was brilliant i think is a WAY over exaggeration. They didnt have the time to show batman going through strenth conditioning and each workout to get stronger , the movie could only be so long. I am perfectly ok with nobody agreeing with my takes on movies, i am not a expert or get paid to review movies, i am just a guy that wants to put out my thoughts , i am ok with people disagreeing or different takes, thats what makes this great..we can discuss and agree and disagree and talk about or thoughts on things
