mustang owner here since everyone's asking was not ideal conditions stability trac was cutting power either completely or until i let off fully was a cold day on a sandy bumpy surface so to be expected and yes i let the 10spd shift itself an no i don't recommend nittos lol but with perfect condition i don't think it would have made a difference against the g70 on E (its a Korean rocket not the north ones) thank for the invite sam had a blast spinning!

I own a 2018 Genesis G80 Sport with the 3.3T. Has 90k miles and no major issues except an intercooler leak that warranty took care of, so far it's been a reliable car.
Very few issues with the 3.3T, even with those north of a 120K miles at this point. The engine loves fresh plugs, an oil catch can, and snorkels, but other than that, it literally has no Achilles heels.
@Rob Snow I think around $550 CAD. Only time my warranty was needed. My service advisor did say for mine to start leasking at 150k kms was good as some leak as early as 60k kms. My warranty runs out in about another 23k kms I may trade it in after that.

Before seeing the race: Tuned cars are always a wild card. Depends how they are tuned. But with the same stage of mods, Merc and Genesis should be pretty equal from a dig and from a roll (if the Genesis is tuned to build boost at launches). The Mustang will probably have lots of difficulty to grip and will be left in dust from a dig, but should do very well on a roll. Let's see! Very good match-up 👍
I have an S550 but what most S550 owners don't do besides having the tune is not adding the Steeda "Stop The Hop Kit" which makes them launch much better with almost zero traction loss!
Did you seen the specs? How could you say it's EQUAL kia and c43, as kia had 30bhp more at same weight? Also i doubt about power OR weight of that merc.. there it is or some 4200 weight, or less than 430whp (maybe those 430 are BHP?!)
I dont think the avg person understands how amazing of an engine the H/K 3.3TT is. It can hold considerably boost increaeses with very few mods. The internals are top tier, as is the transmission and AWD system. It is not as aggressively geared as a B58-equipped M340i, but it is quite the phenomenal car, especially tuned. The 5.0 must've had issues because I've not seen even stock Mustangs do so poorly on a roll. The MB has good off the line traction, but the car is geared for comfort overall.

The c43 did a full boost when he wasn't supposed to, launch while I did 0 boost. My best 0-60 on just pump gas is 3.3 seconds in boost weather. It was more like 3.9 here because I didn't use launch control. I have wmi now, I'll see what it runs once it's all dialed in.

@@downsouthlouisiana it's not that straightforward. AWD has a disadvantage on rolls dude to more drive train loss, then there is the trans shift times and gearing to consider and the weight. Lots of factors that can lead to many different outcomes. Traction being a nig one of them. You can have 2000hp but if you can't put it down it doesn't really matter does it?
@Slip Angle Midnight Performance has gone 7.90s with only boost added to a 100% oem sealed Coyote and A10 transmission. Don't let this example of an NA car losing and cloud your reality because when a 5.0s get boost....both of these others would have busses put on them. 😂

I'm the g70 owner, it's definitely 460-470 as of this race. I've raced many c43s even when I was stock. They really have a hard time shifting. I now have wmi and the car is running waaay better. I wasn't using launch control to build any boost in the digs cause we wanted to give the mustang a fair go at the digs but the c43 ended up using full launch control. The first roll I wasn't in boost and it shows. The second roll I was in boost and you can see the difference. The c43 was likely 460 crank. I was 460wheel.
Considering it’s a Hyundai/Kia car…the underdog that would never have been mentioned alongside an AMG and a 5.0 5 years ago and on…yeah it’s a big deal. G70 is very lightly modded along with the AMG and mustang/mopar drivers always say, “i’ve got the power, i just need a good tire and it’s game over”…the G70 and Stinger are beasts of cars. I will say that the Mustang owner in the comments has been humble and upfront about his races which shows he was a good sport at the end of the day. Not many are. Usually it’s always excuses why people get beat by a hyundai/kia car when they just simply got beat. Just have a fun race and move on to the next.
Trust me it doesn't even need that at all. Not everyone can drive a Mustang. Its all about the driver. I drove Mustangs since i was 18 years old. And i can easily tell you my 2014 can take them. No tune. Only suspension and an aluminium one peice drive shaft and Falken tyres. I go against Srts. Amg 63s not 40s. New Bmw M3s and m5s.

@@slaterelliott3780 I have a trick for this (2022 GT premium PP1 10-speed owner here), too. For dig racing, especially on non-ideal surfaces, try the following: 1. Leave TCS/advanced-trac ON (I know, but trust me). 2. Sport + mode (not drag, since the shifts are much harsher and tend to break traction) 3. Leave shifter in D, tap left paddle to put the transmission into "temporary manual" mode in 1st gear 4. Brake boost and launch! 5. Don't touch the paddles. The cool thing about temporary manual mode (as opposed to permanent manual mode with shifter in "S") is that it WILL upshift instead of banging off the rev-limiter, but it WON'T short shift, either! And it will only time out of temporary manual mode if you hold a steady speed for too long, or go to slow and trigger a necessary downshift. So, what this means is that you get the benefits of TCS, but when it kicks in, it won't short-shift you to the next gear (or even sometimes a double short shift from 1 to 3). It'll carry you all the way to redline and shift only once it reaches redline. The quick way to remember this is to just tap your left paddle just before launching and do nothing else!
Just fyi, the new G70 for the 2023 have been upgraded to: 1. 2.3T up to 2.5T engine or the 3.3T to the 3.5T engine (stinger or the gv70 engine options) 2. Better standard brakes (brembo even in the 2.5T) 3. Interior has been updated to look more modern. These updates have been changed on the Korean site and have been selling since 4 or 4 days ago. I'm not sure when these changes will be implemented into NA
The 3.5T will NOT be offered in the G70. Only the 2.5T is being introduced to replace the old 2.0T. It's getting more or less the same updates that the Stinger got for the 2022 model year.

A lot of people sleep on them for sure. I knew it would be this fast but only because I research into all the cars in this class and know very well how fast these cars can be with a proper tune. It gets overshadowed by the b58 so no one bats an eye until something like this happens in a race.

Mustang was falling all over itself…either had shifting issues or driver mod needed. You could hear it failing to up-shift and it appeared to be having traction issues, as well. But such is life with a high powered car with 2wd. AWD FTW. The G70 impressed.

the fact tht the g70 has already crossed 1 lac kilometers with tune is insane in itself. that proves how reliable the machine is even after heavy tuning. Hats down Hyundai and Genesis engineers.
Mustang at a total disadvantage. Not only is it stock, but being it's RWD and can't get traction because the owner didn't come to the fight with a proper drag radial. On the other hand that G70 is AWD and probably pushed near its limits for both the engine and transmission. For the record, I have no Bias, as I have both a 2023 G70 3.3T AWD SP, and an 825 HP Whippled 2017 Mustang GT Premium.
So the mustang guy Is a friend and we did try a 100-200 and it was just not close. The mustang should have top end but the g70 with that tune just pulls hard even up top.

Tune may only add 30 hp top end, but it adds a lot of hp and torque in mid range, and it would have definitely won the roll races.

Power is not everything. You have to put that power down. Rear wheels drive, not surprised of the result. Surprised how fast the G70 is though..

It is fast and consider it's running an 11.6 in the 1/4 Mile. The fastest G70 is running 10.7 with just a tune +wmi and intakes. Stock exhaust!

I'm the g70 owner, it's definitely 460-470 as of this race. I've raced many c43s even when I was stock. They really have a hard time shifting.
I now have wmi and the car is running waaay better. I wasn't using launch control to build any boost in the digs cause we wanted to give the mustang a fair go at the digs but the c43 ended up using full launch control.
The first roll I wasn't in boost and it shows. The second roll I was in boost and you can see the difference.
The c43 was likely 460 crank. I was 460wheel.

Considering it’s a Hyundai/Kia car…the underdog that would never have been mentioned alongside an AMG and a 5.0 5 years ago and on…yeah it’s a big deal.
G70 is very lightly modded along with the AMG and mustang/mopar drivers always say, “i’ve got the power, i just need a good tire and it’s game over”…the G70 and Stinger are beasts of cars.
I will say that the Mustang owner in the comments has been humble and upfront about his races which shows he was a good sport at the end of the day. Not many are. Usually it’s always excuses why people get beat by a hyundai/kia car when they just simply got beat. Just have a fun race and move on to the next.

Trust me it doesn't even need that at all. Not everyone can drive a Mustang. Its all about the driver. I drove Mustangs since i was 18 years old. And i can easily tell you my 2014 can take them. No tune. Only suspension and an aluminium one peice drive shaft and Falken tyres. I go against Srts. Amg 63s not 40s. New Bmw M3s and m5s.

Good race! This Mustang is stock, not tuned, and had issues. I've seen them a lot and generally speaking they're easy low 12s stock out of the box.
Fastest stock 1/4 time for the gen 3 s550 is 11.6@121

99% of Mustang drivers don't know how to race the 10spd Auto from a roll. And doesn't the title state "tuned 5.0"?
I know, right?!?! So frustrating. Set to drag mode, put shifter in S, tap paddles to activate full manual mode, pick gear, floor it and then immediately pop it back into "D" and let it rip.

There's plenty of videos out there for lap3 stingers beating full bolt on e85 tuned mustangs. And the stinger area 200lbs heavier than the g70s with the same internals.

@@slaterelliott3780 I have a trick for this (2022 GT premium PP1 10-speed owner here), too.
For dig racing, especially on non-ideal surfaces, try the following:
1. Leave TCS/advanced-trac ON (I know, but trust me).
2. Sport + mode (not drag, since the shifts are much harsher and tend to break traction)
3. Leave shifter in D, tap left paddle to put the transmission into "temporary manual" mode in 1st gear
4. Brake boost and launch!
5. Don't touch the paddles. The cool thing about temporary manual mode (as opposed to permanent manual mode with shifter in "S") is that it WILL upshift instead of banging off the rev-limiter, but it WON'T short shift, either! And it will only time out of temporary manual mode if you hold a steady speed for too long, or go to slow and trigger a necessary downshift.
So, what this means is that you get the benefits of TCS, but when it kicks in, it won't short-shift you to the next gear (or even sometimes a double short shift from 1 to 3). It'll carry you all the way to redline and shift only once it reaches redline.
The quick way to remember this is to just tap your left paddle just before launching and do nothing else!

Just fyi, the new G70 for the 2023 have been upgraded to:
1. 2.3T up to 2.5T engine or the 3.3T to the 3.5T engine (stinger or the gv70 engine options)
2. Better standard brakes (brembo even in the 2.5T)
3. Interior has been updated to look more modern.
These updates have been changed on the Korean site and have been selling since 4 or 4 days ago. I'm not sure when these changes will be implemented into NA
The 3.5T will NOT be offered in the G70. Only the 2.5T is being introduced to replace the old 2.0T. It's getting more or less the same updates that the Stinger got for the 2022 model year.

Nobody except other people that own them. That's why a lot of people trying to flex on the streets frequently get torched by them.
A lot of people sleep on them for sure. I knew it would be this fast but only because I research into all the cars in this class and know very well how fast these cars can be with a proper tune. It gets overshadowed by the b58 so no one bats an eye until something like this happens in a race.

Mustang was falling all over itself…either had shifting issues or driver mod needed. You could hear it failing to up-shift and it appeared to be having traction issues, as well. But such is life with a high powered car with 2wd. AWD FTW. The G70 impressed.
No problems with the car, lots of problems with traction and surface.

That monster 340i runs on hybrid turbos. All that G70 has is stage 1 ecu tcu tune. That's enough for him to go mid \ low 11s.

I had JB4 with wmi and TCU. I replaced JB4 with Lap3 ECU and added sec dowpipes. I was running 11.6-11.9's.
Now 11.2-11.3's...

‘17-‘18 C43 have a 7G+ trans, ‘19-22’ have a 9G trans. This is before I watched the videos but the more aggressive ratios of the 9G make a difference.

Mustang at a total disadvantage. Not only is it stock, but being it's RWD and can't get traction because the owner didn't come to the fight with a proper drag radial. On the other hand that G70 is AWD and probably pushed near its limits for both the engine and transmission. For the record, I have no Bias, as I have both a 2023 G70 3.3T AWD SP, and an 825 HP Whippled 2017 Mustang GT Premium.

So the mustang guy Is a friend and we did try a 100-200 and it was just not close. The mustang should have top end but the g70 with that tune just pulls hard even up top.
