Hey Sean, just wanted to give you your flowers and say thank you so much for the work you put in to spread knowledge and guide us music producers. I had an idea for a video. It's a little basic but I've been using Logic Pro stock plugins to mix/master for over 10 years now. I just purchased Ozone 11 Advanced and am just blown away by everything that is possible. I am finally uploading to beatstars and I was looking for an approach to mixing my beats with or without ozone 11 advanced (Example being like a tonal shaper on buses and what not) Basically the video idea would be mixing/mastering a beat start to finish using only Logic Pro stock plugins + anything you would pull from ozone 11 advanced for the mix and as well as the master. Thanks agin Sean, your videos are amazing and have helped me so much. Your sound is truly divine. Love and respect, Swivel.
You autocorrect I used to try to adhere to 14 lufs and I found that my mixes were significantly lower than commercial releases. I thought I was doing something wrong so I downloaded some High Fidelity commercial releases and found that they were nowhere close to 14 lufs. They were more like 9 and 7 lufs. Since then I started mastering in between 10 and 8.5 l u f s. Depending on what I was going after have the clarity of course
Funny how the devs thought it would be a good idea to have the lights flash, but I'll always associate it with my 12 V days when that meant your power wasn't sufficient. I find it unnerving when i use this plugin. :-).
Yeah there should be subtle differences it shouldn't be overly dramatic unless that's what you're going for. However, If you find that you have to overly tweak things to get them sounding A certain way then revisit the mix.
Thanks for the showcase. Think you succeeded in making something deliverable and competitive for streaming. Looks like you can push things pretty hard with this plugin but it doesn't overcook things.

When I was a young man, I was foolish and impatient, and unwise- gratefully those are experiences I can share in my testimony.

I wouldn’t say better. They’re very different workflows and sound. This to me is more “analog” if that makes sense :)

what if im mixing vocals on a mastered beat, my overall track is really distorted when my LUFS are green
Bring the input knob back and go easy on the LOUD knob. You want at least 3 to 4dB of headroom before processing with Master Plan.

Gold clip right before Master Plan. Clip a couple of dbs to get a little more out of MP! #chefskiss. I actually go Mixhead to Gold Clip to Master Plan

I'd recommend at least 3-4 dB of headroom. LUFS will vary.

Use whatever plugins come with your DAW to start with. Stock plugins have come a long way and you can still get good results 👍
