- Bohol is unbelievable! Such a surprise for us and Anda is a huge secret spot in the Philippines. It won't stay this way for long so get to Anda while you can. Bohol is famous for a few areas and the tourists flock to these places but Anda is only 3 hours from the main city in Bohol and feels like your own piece of paradise.

I totally understand how you feel, when your in your own head. I am currently traveling and its hard to escape that horrid bad feeling when your in such amazing places. Would love to know how others cope.
I know what you mean. I think we forget that just because we (travellers) are doing/seeing awesome stuff, it doesn't take away the daily human emotions we all feel. We are all just normal people but in a different locations. Would love to know how other travellers cope as well so pinning this comment.

I know not everyone believes in Jesus and so a lot of you might not understand and don’t even bother to read this, but I tell you people live their lives aimlessly trying to find happiness by being busy, going place etc but still go through those days when they feel empty inside. Well, I use to feel that way too until I found Jesus and started an intimate spiritual relationship with. You know what the gift is when you become a believer? PEACE, JOY, LOVE, KINDNESS. SELF CONTROL. Things you cannot buy with money or fill with busyness in life or travel or anything else. When my mom past away, I felt like the whole world have collapsed on me. But because I knew God and who He is, for some reason I was sad but my spirit was never crushed. Deep in me I still had joy and I somehow understood why things happen the way they do. It was this immeasurable peace & joy & understanding that I knew God was in control of everything and that it wasn’t the end of everything and I also knew that He was with me through that very dark valley in my life. So my answer to your question? My joy comes from loving & following Jesus. I am okay because of His supernatural healing and blessings. I pray that somehow someway you would be interested to know Him as well and that you would receive His gifts that transcends all understanding. 😊🙏🏼 I hope you guys feel better. Count your blessings and be grateful always. Gratefulness counteracts sadness. God bless you both. 💖
Dude, don't be upset if your gadget have failed you we love what your doing showing the world how beautiful our country, I am from cebu and also I stayed their in bohol for almost 4 years and i agree with you that place is awesome. And back to your concerns about being upset, you don't have to what is important is that you are as what both of you said are in a paradise. Enjoy it it doesn't matter to us if you can't show to us, waht's important is that both of you is having a great time in our country. Here’s something I do when I struggle to be happy, even when I’m in a place, situation where I’m supposed to have the greatest time, I pause. I pause to think that my happiness is a state of mind. I could be in a not so ideal place or situation BUT if I choose to be “happy”, I could be! I’m in control of ME! I don’t believe we will ever achieve that state of HAPPYNESS but it is all about perspective. We enjoy your vids! I’m from Bohol, living in the USA.
What do I do when I am down or depressed or sad about my life? I look around. Your surroundings will speak to you how blessed you are that life may not always be what we want that imperfection, frustrations, heartbreaks, rejections, sickness etc. exists but that would make life more meaningful. It is how we appreciate all the things we have, and how we accept uncertain things in a way that would show courage to others or inspire people. I always tell myself that things happen for a reason to teach me and grow. It may sound cliche but that is what I always tell myself when things go wrong. So cheer up guys. Emma girl you are pretty and Alex those eyes are freaking crazy sick. Are they gray now?
Budget traveling is not just a physically tiring activity. It's also emotionally and psychologically exhausting. Broken go-pros, drones, perhaps it's the universe telling you to enjoy nature by yourself for yourself. I applaud Emma for recognizing that and even showed you. That empty experience-- perhaps it's because you resist to detach yourself from the material things around you and you feel lost without your technological gadgets. The secret to Filipino smiles (maybe not that secret :D) is that even though we want more, we are still happy of what is available, right there in front of us. We can smile because there is still something left for us to enjoy. We usually say this phrase, “pasalamat ka at meron” which basically means, be thankful of what you have (or be thankful that it is available). So be positive!

I'm a filipino living in the Philippines, and I have watched a lot of your vlogs(videos) which I find interesting & fun to watch.
Now.. I have experience being down & depressed myself sometimes, and what helped me is saying a sincere prayer & entrusting everything to our Lord God Jesus Christ.
If you feel depressed and empty inside... may I 'suggest' going to(finding) a catholic church, sit down & kneel, say the 'Lord's prayer' & say another prayer on your own words.
And offer everything to God... your doubts, your troubles, your fears & concerns, and then trust in Him. Hope this helps, take care. :)

Alex and Emma, life is good, our ups and downs are the basic requirements to truly finding happiness. If we see life shining beyond all of these uneven incidents that have happened in our lives then we could probably get out from the loads we're carrying on our shoulders.
A puzzle can't be perfectly solved if we haven't found yet the strength in our weaknesses.
I admire you and I am truly inspired by your bravery. To tell you honestly, I am also getting strength from you, Everytime I hear you both talk I feel so happy and contented.
Be strong always my friends. Unveil the true happiness that is inside you! Never allow bad things to penetrate your happy day. If bad day strikes out, smile and say, today I could be happier even if this thing disturbs me. :-)

I live in Los Angeles but grew up in Cebu. I follow you guys so I can reminisce those places you've been to. Thank you for sharing and if your feeling the way you guys are, congrats! you found the perfect place for you two where you are expected to carry on life smiling because nothing else matter.. It’s a good thing to put a human face of our bad moments. It makes your video authentic, truthful, and more human. We cant be jumping up and down laughing every second. It’s our attitude and flexibility that matters most given the human circumstances we may not have any control. If things starts to malfunction then let go of it. You primary purpose to is savor with your eyes and soul the beauty of a leaf 🍃 landing on your shoulder. Dont be a tourist. Be a traveler. But more than that be a seeker a too. See, hear, listen, and taste the world for your discovery.
When you find those moment of happiness. Drop what you are doing, take a moment to soak it in, store it deep, remember it to heart, never forget. For those moments, you bring out during dark days, days of failed expectations and bumps on the roads. Remember that moment of being at home.

I have been randomly watching your videos and little by little, I am "getting hooked" to watching you guys. This video is somehow different as this showed the other side of the person in you, which is normal. Everyone of us do have bad days but we just have to think about the bright day which comes after. Can add Camiguin Island on your bucket list when you come back to the Philippines. Its an Island next to Anda Bohol. You can you snorkeling at Mantique Island and savor the awesome scenery of White Island... you can visit waterfalls and many many more...
Glad you showed the real side of life whether it’s traveling or not. Things can be overwhelming. I’ve been traveling to the Philippines every year for the last 3 years now. At some point in time I will definitely get melancholy, depressed, stressed, or just tired. Try 3 things:
1. 3 deep breaths to help physically deal with stress.
2. Name 3 things you are thankful for to help with peace of mind.
3. Have 3 drinks. The alcohol helps but taking time to sit and enjoy a few drinks can really help slow your pace and anxiety and put you in a better mood.

Anda is my tranquilizer when i need peaceful place to relax. Just live the town before anda guindulman i just need to ride my motorcycle for 30mins and there anda is more than most people know about this place. There is so much more to explore there.

Aw Alex! Part of getting over a rough day is allowing yourself to be sad for a few moments. Understanding your emotion and then trying to remind yourself of the things that are good (like you still have other working cameras) also trying to remember that in the moment there is nothing you can do so worry and stress does nothing. Once you were back in town or in room and able to fix the situation then you can maybe allow yourself some stress or worry and figure it out. And Hugs-proven fact that hugging for 30 seconds can make people feel better. Just suggestions that sound easy when typed out but I understand doing is harder! Much love and aloha to you both! 💕🌈
Thanks Mara. I agree completely. It is weird when I edit videos like this as I am very rarely in a bad/sad mood. Usually I have bundles of energy and the bad moods don't last long. I woke up the next day feeling fine and almost couldn't care less about the equipment. Human mind is a funny thing haha.
20 years ago, we went to this spot. No one was there, but us. There was one old house for us to stay. It was great place, til now.

Please know that both of you are wonderful people to be able to freely express yourselves in the form of traveling, and to be able to smile and respond to your audience despite the fact that you may be carrying a weight on your shoulders. Depression doesn't always equate to sadness; the chemical imbalance in our brain have a strong effect on our general mood, and certain predicaments in life paints it up, making us call it a sadness. When we're depressed, we sure have periods or episodes of sadness, and knowing that you're dealing with it bravely is just something that inspires me. I wish you could find someone, a therapist that could shed more light on the issue, and it's nothing to be reluctant or be ashamed of, they can help suggest ways on scientific approach to help deal with depression.

I've just subbed! You guys are amazing! Anyway, for me...whenever I feel like I'm not in a good place, I always just focus on the things I CAN control, rather than those that I cannot...and that sort of puts my mind at ease. I used to suffer with crazy amount of anxiety (still working on it 😉 ), but I've come to a realisation that bad things happen and what happens next is (almost always) up to me.

I’ve been watching you guys since the day you start filming Philippines,im a filipino and i loved watching foreigners enjoying my mother land..thanks for exploring pilipinas and if things went down ,mode change ,just take a pause.
Because im an ofw here’s 2 things i do if sometimes my day is bad..i watched funny videos ,videos from my phone when i was happy with my friends or watch documentary videos about people who are very poor ,have nothing at all so i can tell my self im still lucky ..and change my bad mode into being inspired and happy...

Hey Travel Beans! Awesome video! Will now add Anda on my places to visit when in Bohol. On your next trip, you may want to try some of the best snorkeling sites which I've personally visited. They are, in no particular order: 1. Romblon Island, 2. El Nido in Palawan, and 3. Apo Island in Dumaguete.

Love the opening aerial shot of Bohol! Quite spectacular. With regards feeling depressed at time, just think: you show happiness with your vlogs because you edit out those scenes that don't make it to the final cut. Life is somehow like that. You only want to always keep the happy thoughts and edit out those depressing moments. Visualize yourself in your vlogs!

You should teach us how to fly a drone, edit videos and your music selection is awesome. Where do you find your music? Anyhow, you guys are amazing!!!
Don’t know if y’all knew these already. Go Pro sometime fogged up when you take it outside from your airconditioned room, the best way to do this is moisture blocker, and if you don’t have those, assemble your go pro inside your hotel room where it is cold from airconditioning , never open it until you’re done filming. Snorkeling mask or goggles, you see those seaweeds? Take some of those and rub it inside the glass (lens) of your mask and rinse it with water ( sea water okay), you will be seeing a very good visions.

Remember the dreary 9 to 5 back in the UK? Cold miserable UK winters where you are stuck inside? I am a Brit like yourselves and my Thai wife has to put up with that to get her UK citizenship. I am just saying sometimes you take for granted the wonderful things you are doing and experiencing. How to deal with those dark moments? Well they are moments that will pass and think of the good things in your life. Despite being in a foreign cold land with few friends, my wife is always happy and positive because she feels we are blessed. Good health, enough money, a house in Thailand and the UK, some free time to go travelling and money to do it. Life is good?
