My family went to see Garth in Nashville last year. Right before the concert started it started pouring rain and lightning and we're outside in a stadium filled with metal benches. 70,000 people had to leave. We all gathered under the stadium seats around the food counters, hoping it would stop. But it got worse. My 6'4" son started singing this song and soon the entire place joined in. Garths private room was under us. I've never had so much fun missing a concert! Later he said on the news, "I'VE GOT THE BEST FANS IN THE WORLD. NO ONE WAS MAD. NO ONE GOT ANGRY. THEY JUST STARTED SINGING LOW PLACES" It's true. It wasn't his fault. And we southern folk can make the best out of a bad situation. We love Garth and will be going back to see him asap.

"The Dance," is a song that gets me through all types of loss and you can get a lyrics video of that. It stands on its own, but sometimes you can find the video where he's honoring the troops with it. (Then listen to Kelly Clarkson's tribute to him singing The Dance. Or Chris Stapleton's tribute to him singing, "Shameless.") This man is an INCREDIBLE entertainer. I saw him several times in the 90's when he would wear a harness and fly right out over the audience and come nose to nose with people in the nosebleed seats! Look for, "Ain't Goin' Down Til The Sun Comes Up." That is the highest energy song and the words just flow ... he used to run around the stage while spitting those words out. Holy cow, he could (and still can) absolutely electrify an audience! You could feel the crackle before he ever stepped foot on stage. He stopped his career at the height of his incredible fame to raise his kids, came back 10 years later and did not miss a beat - still selling out stadiums in minutes!

I was listening to this song in an icehockey stadium before the game. it was sang by a player who left the team for a team which very often wins the german champtionships. and as he came back to the underdog team this song was a perfect statement. he came back to his friends in low places!

Agree with the others who can't believe you've never heard of Garth. Not only is the the top selling country artist and one of the top 2-5 selling artists of any genre, but he has specifically played huge shows in Europe, especially Ireland. Thus, for many outside of North America Garth is the only name they know when they think about country music. You noted how hard it is to find his music and that is intentional on his part as he is possibly the most aggressive artist in music at blocking his music from sites like UA-cam. Because of that, if you do go to react to a song, there is a very good chance it is a cover (and in fact I was convinced when I was watching your intro to this video that you were going to be reacting to a cover, but you weren't). Because of this, I would either have somebody who knows Garth check out a potential video before reacting or check the comments on a video to see if it is actually Garth or not.
I can imagine that people from other countries might hear this as possibly crass, or uncouth, and maybe even slightly “trashy”… but I think it’s one of those things, “Ya had to be there.” I hated country music, so i made my favorite mistake and moved down to almost the very bottom of the Gulf Coast of Texas. Corpus Christi. So far south it’s hardly even south anymore. It was not what you’d think. There were good looking people who spent tons of money on what you could call cowboy clothes, AND they could dance. AND they knew what to do with a campfire after a long day running around on a lake all day doing personal watercraft competitions. Those nights were wonderful. The smell of the magnolias that you can only find in the south, mixed the smell of a bigass campfire, with the right people and lots of beverages… knowing your sunburn is going to hurt like hell in the morning but not caring… AND THIS SONG IN THE BACKGROUND. Garth’s vocals seriously are impressive. And our favorite thing about him, he doesn’t have a stick up his a$$. He knows who he is. And we believe him. He really is a great guy!

I don't like country music but I wanted to see a rxn to this song because it is great. EVERYONE cheers and sings along at karaoke, even rockers like me. We all feel (for a few minutes at least) that we are all friends in a the bar together instead of strangers at karaoke.

You haven’t really heard this song until you hear the THIRD VERSE version. Gotta find a live version to hear it though because they can’t play it on the radio. Worth the effort to at least listen on your own time.

Garth Brooks is probably one of the best country artists yet he is also the demise of modern country music. He bridged the gap between country and pop which ushered in today's Bro-country.

the title came when a guy took some friends to lunch at a place he had been to when the dinner was over he found out he had no cash and laughed that he had friends in low places and they would let him work off the bill
Agree with the others who can't believe you've never heard of Garth. Not only is the the top selling country artist and one of the top 2-5 selling artists of any genre, but he has specifically played huge shows in Europe, especially Ireland. Thus, for many outside of North America Garth is the only name they know when they think about country music. You noted how hard it is to find his music and that is intentional on his part as he is possibly the most aggressive artist in music at blocking his music from sites like UA-cam. Because of that, if you do go to react to a song, there is a very good chance it is a cover (and in fact I was convinced when I was watching your intro to this video that you were going to be reacting to a cover, but you weren't). Because of this, I would either have somebody who knows Garth check out a potential video before reacting or check the comments on a video to see if it is actually Garth or not.

I can imagine that people from other countries might hear this as possibly crass, or uncouth, and maybe even slightly “trashy”… but I think it’s one of those things, “Ya had to be there.”
I hated country music, so i made my favorite mistake and moved down to almost the very bottom of the Gulf Coast of Texas. Corpus Christi. So far south it’s hardly even south anymore. It was not what you’d think. There were good looking people who spent tons of money on what you could call cowboy clothes, AND they could dance.
AND they knew what to do with a campfire after a long day running around on a lake all day doing personal watercraft competitions. Those nights were wonderful. The smell of the magnolias that you can only find in the south, mixed the smell of a bigass campfire, with the right people and lots of beverages… knowing your sunburn is going to hurt like hell in the morning but not caring…

Garth’s vocals seriously are impressive. And our favorite thing about him, he doesn’t have a stick up his a$$. He knows who he is. And we believe him. He really is a great guy!
Yes you won’t find Garth’s Music on UA-cam. Something to do with his record company or management or something. However if you find videos of his concerts they’re a spectacle to witness

Garth Brooks is not NEW he's been in country for at 20years probley more his song if tomorrow never comes is just brilliant he stepped back from music for awhile for his family but he's back now he's great
