For anyone concerned about the lack of stalks, you can buy aftermarket stalks for ~$300-400. I installed them on a 2023 X and 2024 M3P and they work perfectly. The steering columns are the same and have slots for them. The fact they got rid of the stalks is ridiculous. Most people want the stalks.
Do most ppl want that? Do you have evidence of that? A study or survey results of actual owners?
@@michaelsmithers4900 No, mostly anecdotal. I’ve rarely heard or read anyone say they prefer it vs “I got used to it” which doesn’t mean it’s better.

Ryan, thanks for all the effort that you put into providing these videos. They are extremely informative. By the way, regarding stalks, I was very resistant to the idea of not having them. However, after experiencing the new system, I think it is so much better, and driving a car with stalks now seems antiquated by comparison.

I’ve had my refreshed Model 3 for 3+ months now… the lack of a turn signal stalk really bothered me for about the first 2 months, but have adapted now, and is just OK. All other stalk control functions were intuitive and, generally better than previous. Shift on the screen is really great, easy to adapt to, and there is added intuitive controls based upon vision, etc. Ethen you stop put on break and push door unlock, auto shifts into to park, etc. Great!

As I was parking my new Model Y in the garage one evening a few weeks ago the car autonomously turned on a deep throbbing sound on the music system and began flashing all its lights, even flashing the letters TESLA un the garage wall. It was a hoot and impressive display of what the car can do. Its never done it since. Has anyone else had such an experience?

I drove test drove the new “Highland” model 3 today. I did not worry about the lack of storks - I am sure within one week of owning I would adapt. However although the model 3 was nice, it was not appreciably better than my 2023 model Y. If I wanted a new car I would not wait for the refresh unless the cooling seats or rear screen are particularly important to you.

I think it's about valuation too. 2023 model 3 is significantly less valuable than 2024 because of all the changes. The change cannot be explained by valuation lost from being 1 years old
I test drove a new M3 and it wasnt enough of a upgrade to warrant waiting and the blinker system is a downgrade. So hopped on the MY with the .99 interest rate. Now we have 2 MY no gas cars. Never going back to gas. I dont think we will get new batteries until tesla makes their own LFP so I think its basically the same model.
I don't know why I keep falling for the same videos, "The NEW Model Y..." Nothing new Tesla fans don't already know.

I wish there could be a weather map option on the map's screen. It could come on for a dozen seconds and then switch off. Just like the way the map resets after you move it or turn it.

While Tesla is moving car physical controls (switches & buttons) to the touch screen (software controlled) some owners may not know that Tesla is developing Voice Controls to minimize the need to navigate the screen menu system while driving. At present voice controls are somewhat limited but as Tesla expands voice controls these can be added via Over The Air updates.
I love how we say the current model wide and the model 3 are loud. I have a Jeep as my other car that’s loud.
No "refreshed" model Y coming this year people! But a "reengineered" model Y... well that's a different story 😌
I'm glad I got my Y when i did. I prefer stalks, the ventilated seats don't have the backside pouches that I use all the time, the non-ambient interior LED lights are ugly, and having split tail lights is safer when you're standing back there next to fast traffic.
Model Y refresh, I really want V2H power option.

The US will not see a Juniper Model this year but Asia and Europe will have it released this year and orders start in October 2024
The new Model Y is not coming out any time soon. Many of the M3 "Highland" improvements have already been implemented for the 2024 MY. Tesla updates components of the vehicle to as closely to match the fleets technology. This helps drive down costs.
The M3 released in 2017 the refresh release for the M3 was in 2024. That is 7 years!!! I think the MY next release date will be shorter than 7 years! It's a better selling vehicle. My IMHO prediction is a mid to late 2025.

@@Mamba310 Not entirely correct. Check out Unplugged Performance’s video. The new M3P seats fit into the older model 3s. Straight bolt on. Motors and heated function works. They do get errors on the screen regarding the restraints. It’s a matter of time until someone figures it out and come out with a kit.
I just bought a model y in March - with the improved ride quality, and interior it makes me want to trade it in. However, I think it’s best to wait a year after the refresh as some issues may occur.
When somebody buys full self-driving it should stay with the person and transfer to whatever car he is driving for riding in. If you pay $15,000 5 years ago for FSD and it has never lived up to what it claimed is just not fair.

The currently $99/mo FSD subscription seems like a better option if planning to change vehicles every few years. The $3k i paid 7 years ago on my vehicle for the FSD upgrade has seemed worth it so far but I STILL don’t have the driverless FSD promised at launch. Hopefully they extend the FSD transfer promo until they at least achieve what was advertised.

I find it hard to believe the Cybertruck is outselling Rivian. I love my R1T. I see R1ts and R1Ss all over the place in Colorado. I have yet to see a Cybertruck. The stainless steelexterior and lack of ability to see out of the back window with the cover closed would keep me from buying it (it probably can withstand a hail storm better than anything out there). I can see it outselling the Ford. The Ford is full of plastic on the interior and it is just a gas engine design converted to an electric vehicle. Nothing exciting about it.

On of the most exciting changes would be a head rest that was adjustable and doesn't suck. Otherwise I have model Y that is amazing.

@@svenhodaka9145 I think Telsa should software lock every feature that isn't mandatory to drive and sell the car for 15k, they can make so much money on subscriptions or one time unlock. They'll earn the other 15k and even more over the life of the vehicle, they'll also simplify production.

Keep an eye open for aftermarket turning signal/stalks. A few companies male them. Telaunch and EVOffer bother have aftermarket stalks for the refreshed Model 3 and basically they'll either work with the new Model Y or soon these companies will have a proper retrofit.
On FSD transfer, do you know if your Tesla is totaled in a wreck if they will let you transfer it or are you screwed trying to buy it again and seeing if the insurance will pay for it.

How can you tell if this is a leaked Model Y? It could be a prankster putting front and rear covers on a current model Y waiting for the blogosphere to take a photo? Worse still it could be Tesla competitor or a short seller planting a story trying to push an osborne effect on the Y. Nothing would surprise me re: the dirty tricks some will get up to.
Would like to see the Model Y upgrade will use the improved temperature range and power density battery chemistry to truly make the long range versions normal operating charging recommendations significantly better than the standard range maximum charging version recommendations, even after expected battery degradation. Hoping to get over 600 mile driving range per battery charge under extreme weather conditions 😊

They soon actually are. You can't get a 5-star safety rating without them. Model Y Juniper from Berlin will have them, or Tesla is just stupid playing with that egomaniac. Europe is one big roundabout and there's no reason to ditch the stalks.

I was so against stalkless stuff but still got the new model 3 a week ago (free FSD transfer), and not super unhappy anymore. Getting used to it, some things are actually OK-ish, like car deciding to pick forward or rear gear about 80% of times correctly. Not as much of an issue, except remembering the left turning signal button, almost remembering it by now. Next thing, they'll remove the steering wheel and track your eyes to where you want to go. That will be a greater learning curve, but WTH, we have no other options if we want to stick with Tesla. Still hope that one day they start listening to customers and improve waiting times on service (weeks out) I need new alignment, get rid of a rattle, fix driver's door, and about six more items on a brand new car with FIVE miles on it. Six years ago my old Model 3 was flawless compare to this one (if you ignore 5 foot panel gaps, etc.). Still, like my car so far. Can't wait for the new shiny whatever they will release in the next two years.

Tesla have just introduced 0% finance in the UK. They did the same for the model 3 last year to move itinerary a couple of months before the highland came out.
Our Tesla here in Glendale Arizona has incredible customer service. Dont know where that guy is from, but I talk up our Tesla store and buying experience to everyone i know. Sucks for him
Is Elon being tricky and referring to Fiscal Year? That would mean Juniper could be out on October 1!!!
Well, he keeps mentioning "this year" so that indicates it is most prob coming out next year or else he would've said it won't be coming for a few years. Also he is most prob referring to the US market since he has been replying to people in the US. You can deduce that Model Y Refresh could potentially come out end of 2024 for China/Europe and then sometime in Q1 2025 for the US. If it doesn't come out anywhere in late-2024, then it'll be at different points in time in 2025. Also based on timelines with the Model 3 refresh and Model 3 Performance refresh, them testing it out in public means that it is somewhat close (several months) to release and not something like a 1+ year wait. All that being said: even if it comes out Q1 2025 in the US, it would still take some months for actual deliveries so it is close to a 1 year wait to actually receive the vehicle.
New Model Y will come in Februar and it will have blinker and gear lever. At least the information i have. But lets see what's really coming next spring. :D

@@czean2125 2024 Quarter 2 F-150 Lightning "deliveries" were 7,902 but many are still on dealer lots. Tesla delivered between 8,000 and 9,000 Cybertrucks during the second quarter.
we need long-distance wireless charging for Tesla vehicles. This is another tech Tesla needs to explore and develop, otherwise they’re going to have to utilize solar charging to address range issues that come up during extreme hot and cold weathers. If it can be possible to charge the batteries via long distances, that would be a game changer and make Tesla vehicles travel for any length of time or distance non-stop and would beat any piece of crap internal combustion engine vehicle in range.

I can’t see how deactivating the FSD for an owner can be legal. Either you are buying something for the car in which case it stays with the car if you sell it. Or you are buying something for the owner to use on the car so they should be able to carry it over to the next vehicle. If it’s deactivated and not carrying over then you aren’t buying anything. You are renting the software for whatever length of time you own that particular car. They can’t define it as a subscription and a purchase if the purchase is only temporary.
Removal of stocks is just plain stupid and it is crazy that this company can get away with it. It is just unsafe and people will be more likely not to turn on their turn signal when changing lanes. This will become a major issue when you drive in big cities with big traffic.
Be patient, it’ll become simpler and signals will be available by voice activation.

Now is actually a great time with the 1.99% APR, you have to get in before Aug 1st. We don't have a hard launch date for the Model Y Refresh just that it will come in 2025.
Would be disappointing if the Model Y refresh did nothing more than the Highland refresh after more than an additional year. At least a new battery technology with quicker charging would be welcome….

NGL I demo drove the stalkless 3 the other day and it was fine. Would I prefer them, yeah, but I doubt it’s swaying many purchase decisions
Interest rates and macro factors are the reason. China, Europe and NA are hurting. China is rebounding. Stalks won’t change majority of buyers.
Stalkless is just a learning curve. No lambo or ferrari owner has ever moaned about there being indicators on the steering wheel. Theyve been on those cars for 10+ years.
@@iCozzh Yeah but I've seen the way they designed the Lambo and Farrari turn signals, they make sense, but the Tesla design is just plain wrong.
Don't forget the $7500.00 federal rebate also went away at the end of 2023 on the cheapest model making them much more expensive due to the use of a Chinese LFP battery that no longer qualifies for the rebate.
