A very helpfully focused, concise and uncluttered presentation of a Lightroom tool I thought Lightroom should have, but didn't know existed. Please do more of the same for other Lightroom tools that Adobe has tucked away in dark corners. Thank you.
This was so super helpful I've been stuck for about 4 Months .. found this video and it put me backup today With the destination part. Thank you so much.
Hi Tarralynn Yours has been the most helpful tutoring of all the sites I have visited and I have learned much from your short video. Your presentation is simple, detailed, and step by step which is what we newcomers to Lightroom are looking for. You are a natural teacher with a pleasant way of speaking and teaching. Your surroundings are perfect, all in all, very professional and encouraging. Please, please continue to post videos, you will build up followers very quickly. By the way, you are also a superb photographer.
Terrific. Thanks Taralynn for your clear tutorial on how to set up a personal File Renaming Template, how to create the destination folder and a sub folder (and naming) to save the photos. Much appreciated.
Excellent tutorial and agree that it gets to the point without so much extra filler that ends up making me click off. My question is can I do the renaming if my LRC files are a mess? Will this put my missing files back in order. Really technically challenged here.
Thank you. for explaining in simple terms, how to import and organize files to avoid a mess later.my instructor skipped this crucial part of this awesome photo processing /workflow tool , LIGHTROOMI will be looking for more of your videos
This automatically started playing after a different video finished. I thought, hey, I will see what it's about. Then I saw her open lightroom and realized this must be old. 2014 lol. Times have changed. Good video for the time though.
HI Tarralynn I have found your tutorial very valuable I am dyslexic so I have struggled with Lightroom for a very long time. I find the pitch of your voice and pace at the right pace. I find you very pleasant to listen to you. Do you have anymore lightroom videos if you do not please do more. thanks john
TARALYN, you are a great teacher but I am very disapointed that you havn`t made anymore videos. you have helped me with the organizing of my files and was looking forward to going ahead, but alas not to be. please let me know if you are going to make any more. kind regards KEN.
That is clear - Thank you for posting this clear explanation regarding starting with a memory card. It's CATALOGS that are so confusing to me. I am still confused by the program requesting to form a catalog when I open it without an SD card inserted. That doesn't seem to be mentioned here. The remarkable thing (to me) about Lightroom is that it is easy to use for editing images BUT extremely difficult to understand how to save changes to the edited files and FIND the finished work on your computer. Wonderful application but Very confusing (to me) relative to almost any other photo program when it comes to files you've worked on. Mysterious.
Hi and Thanks for your excellent video. However I cannot find my photos in my apple photos even if I try to export again it says this file exists in my photos. Thanks
NIce job. When I use my memory card as the import source it brings in both the jpgs and raw files. When I first copy everything to my computer and then import that into lightroom it correctly brings in just the raw files. This happened after I upgraded from Lightroom 5 to CC. Any ideas on that?
Hello, I need to rename a folder. I have done this many time before without issue. However, today I keep getting the message... "the folder could not be renamed or moved" I tried multiple times without success. Any help would be surely welcome as it is frustrating that I can no longer rename a Folder. Thanks in advance. Hi sister...today i took some raw files...then stack it...i got convert file..then new fld created and moved it .again but i can't import that converted file in that same lightroom cc..catalogue ...my questions is why i can't import that covert file in that same lightroom catalog ...wr i was going wrong..how can i change my settings
When I set up my new computer I had all my images on a external hard drive. When I set up Classic I mistakenly imported the images to my internal hard drive vs using the add function to keep the images on the hard drive. How can I repoint the catalog to use the photos on the external drive (and thus clearing room on my internal drive)? Thank you in advance.
Hi, You have done great job. When i created old file it was already save but i want to import new file light room not works i mean to say not open tool like library and other function. so how can i edit photo.plz guide me
When I import and choose a destination, LRC creates 2 sub-directories underneath the directory that I want to place the imported files into i.e. YEARdir > DATEdir. I don't want these sub-directories, I want my files placed in the destination directory that I choose. I can't find a way to stop this :( Anyone have a solution?? Thanks!!
Can someone help. I dont import from my memory cards, I make a folder on my hardrive and import from there. It HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM till recently, it converts the DNG files to my "photos" folder instead of the folder I make on my hard drive. This is difficult because the foldER lightroom makes a collection based of the "date" instead of the folder name I import from. And i cant seem to find any help, site or video to help me fix this. Example: im working on a Church Calendar, the photos are in a folder named "Church trip 2018". when I import it, it moves the photos to photos/2018/08-2018...how am i going to remember my sessions based on the date???? AHHHHHHH PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Top video !! can I ask if I don't want default setting for imported photos to go to Pictures can I change it to go to external hard drive as DNG ? Thanks in advance x
Hi, my Macbook is running out of space so I've formed the habit of importing my photos straight into my external hard drive, and then importing the photos into Lightroom. Is this recommended, and do you have any tips on how I can backup those photos that live on my external?
hey, I travel a lot and use an SSD on the go. But when I come back home I wanna move everything to a bigger HHD. How do I do that will containing my catalogs, collection, and final images? Is there some way I can make this work?
I get what problem you're facing. Since they are two different places of storage but you start editing on the go, it seems easy to correct for your second disc import. Just tell LR that your files are in a totally different place. Usually, when moved as a whole catalog of files, you point to one and LR does the rest (as in place of storage). I hope that helps, I know adobe sucks!
What I would do, is locate the photos wherever they were imported, select them all, and then move them where you want them. Doing this is going to cause an alert in Lightroom, in the form of an exclamation mark in the upper right hand corner of the image previews. If you click on that, it will ask you if you want to locate the file. Say "yes" because you know were you put them. Your file browser will then open, and you can locate that specific file and click OK. Doing this will also locate all the files around it. Hope that helps
Lightroom engineers need to find an easier and faster way to do this. What if you put it in the wrong destination without knowing it and can't find it?
When you do what I said above, it opens in the last known folder the files were in. I'm not sure how much easier and faster it could be done. If you know the file number, you should be able to search your whole system for that particular file. I suppose LR could write some code into the software to automatically do this....
Version 2.3 on a Mac. Still on the free trial...am I missing something? Yeah, no, totally different toolbar. No disk visibility inside Lightroom. Didn't get past the first 30 seconds of this video because the toolbar differs, and there's no disk indicated in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Something as simple as file naming would require searching all over the place then having to see several videos to figure out how it's done, seriously! I would've thought twice about getting LR if I knew just how complex file manipulation is. I wonder how high the suicide rate with people using LR, FS etc.? I can't wait for my 1 year subscription to be over.
Dear Teacher!: You made my Day
By far the best tutorial on Lightroom on UA-cam. Thank you much.

Hi and Thanks for your excellent video. However I cannot find my photos in my apple photos even if I try to export again it says this file exists in my photos. Thanks
great vid, thank you
For some reason I have no 'file handling' or 'file naming' options on the right hand side
If I store my RAW photos on my desktop, does it occupy space on my PC? Please explain. Thanks

Unfortunate this seems to be the one and only video in her series.
What is importing?

She is hawttt
The Bokeh on this video is so pronounced that it is almost impossible to watch. Anyway, she does a good job.
