Amazing performance. Queen was a One of a kind. My mother was born in England, so I had the pleasure of growing up with all things English. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Queen. You are soooooo much fun to watch reacting to these things that have been a part of my life for a long time. Did you know, that when they demoed the song for their manager he told them nobody will listen to a 6 minute song on the radio. So Freddie found a radio station that played it and the world lost their minds.
Hi Rebeka, I like your reaction. Check out “Mother Love” it’s the very last song Freddie sang before he died. He could not complete it sadly enough because he was too ill to finish it. He told Brian May he would finish the recording the next day but Freddie never returned to the studio.... so the last part was sung by Brian instead.
When I saw them do this live back in 1980 and 1982 it was amazing! I loved the song from the album, and the original promotional film in 1975, no MTV or fancy videos back then.This was the most anticipated part of the show when he started out on the piano. When it got to the center part of the song, or as Freddie called it "the operatic section" and the stage went dark and they played the actual audio from the album as it was too complicated to play live. In a video about the song Brian said that that part had so many overdubs of vocals and double, triple and quadruple tracks of the instrumentals it was impossible to recreate live. Oh by the way I can only imagine you sitting in the audience at a Queen concert bck then. You have such enthusiasm watching a video of it, you probably would've burst.
