You’re traveling deep beneath the ocean’s surface, where faint lights flicker and toothy grins flash. Your mission is to survive these depths and journey to the surface after sundown to feed. And as a hatchetfish, almost every other deep-sea creature is trying to eat you. Can you complete the quest? Philip Renaud and Kenneth Kostel share how to survive the ocean's Twilight Zone.

The Narrator does sound like he'd be perfect for narrating the Twilight Zone.
I like this video game style
@@nopjhg if you don’t already, you should watch Tier Zoo. He does stuff like that all the time

I think there is an error with the crediting of the Narrator.
He is obviously not Jack Cutmore-Scott, who has a more husky sound.
The Narrator of this video should be Addison Anderson right?

@@shivajidhawale5475 but in PC version you can only collect DNA points after you beat the Abyssal boss, and thats close to impossible with the hatchet fish!

Theres just something about these animations that make me wanna watch all of ted ed content
they are addictive
Yeah me too but unfortunately I'm too late to watch them all
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call Serling's Twilight Zone.
Funnily enough that actually describes the ocean twilight zone very well

I love how they find a way to make almost every TED-Ed video a story, no matter what the topic is. It really helps for someone like me, who has an easier time understanding information in the form of a plot, rather than bullet points.

I really love this guy’s voice..
He is Addison Anderson
Such a soothing voice he has:)
Yes, same here! It's so nice to listen too :)
I thought this was about how I could survive that show at first...... this is better
No one survives the show The Twilight Zone. No one in our reality anyway.
"But you must repeat this journey everynight for the rest of your life"
Me- ooo that hurts
Hy... what's your name?
Kurzgesagt uploaded another existential crisis and TED-Ed gave me another answer I wanted to a question I never had in the same day; today is a good day.
I know right - though I'm already in the middle of several existential crises - as much as I love their videos - (and these) - been avoiding the other one for once...

TED-Ed has finally collaborated with TierZoo
“The light is a bioluminescent lure belonging to an anglerfish.” That’s like Marlin & Dory playing with a light before realizing that it belongs to an anglerfish and quickly swimming away.
There's something terrifying about deep sea creatures
The ocean is terrifying in general...I'll just stick to swimming in a kiddy pool...if the opportunity arises. 😅
But intriguing
can you imagine how deep sea creatures look on jurrassic period or far more ancient period. must be very interesting
Finally some comedy "just kidding you don't have a choice" yes
These animator's aesthetic sense is on another level !!!!
They always answer the questions I’ve wanted to know about
"a little luck" *proceeds to fill the whole bar up*
Ted-ed should make games like these, fully immersing in the daily life of your character, or the story of your character like Hercules, and then while playing gives you facts and tips on your adventure

They really did my boy Tier Zoo like that.
I CANNOT emphasise enough how much the deep sea fascinates me. Its like a whole other dimension.
What a lovely and refreshing animation! Absolutely loved the videogame vibes
The storyline and animation reminds me of TierZoo 😭
This video was exceptionally well done, from the information to the entertaining presentation style. Well done
Great video. Always very high quality! I watched all of the Twilight

The animation is amazing, the narration is funny, video = perfection
This is amazing. To say the least
Woooow that was awesome ❤️
I honestly wonder too if we would survive the twilight zone! Good for the hatchetfish though, they got life covered!
The initial intro quote is always amazing and very ...
This is the best.
that was awesome
Just love the explanation
Now this feel like some zootier stuff right here and I am loving it
I wonder how you guys make such Quality Animation with such accurate information in a short amount of time, I know you guys probably has team's that works on Audio, Research, and Audio but still it's impressive.
I know that this is a shot video but it also takes time. idk if you guys just stock on videos that is already done and publishing it on a date, I would appreciate if you answer
My favorite narratoR!
Very good animation and the adventure of 4 minutes was damn good.
Aquarium hatchetfish are adorable, deep sea ones look so much like something you'd expect to see in Courag The Cowardly Dog.
Please consider doing a video on diabetes. It's a glaring omission in your excellent series and would help those suffering from the disease tremendously. Thank you.
This video is really good.
And I can sense the essence of TierZoo in it.
Yo is this what tierzoo was talking about.

The artwork in these vids are so pretty
ANIMATION IS ON POINT 🔥
Nice video.
Very creative with the story
"You may now pick your player,"

"Just kidding, you don't have a choice. You're a hatchetfish."

Three of my favorite things are _The Twilight Zone,_ the natural world and Ted-Ed animations.
This has all three!
Ilove when you said we don't have a choice that was very funny and I like your voice actor he fits really well
I love the 3d models and how they’re shaded to almost look 2d in some angles
Having played subnautica, this was giving me some flashbacks xD. Awesome video!
Ted Ed has so many different art styles that they are single handedly employing 90 percent of art graduates
Imagine being a hatchet fish that came all the way from the twilight zone, escaping three predators just to get nabbed by a fisherman
Neat idea for a new animated series or game in the App Store.
'Little luck' proceeds to almost maximise the counter.
Alex Gendler's voice suits every video and its theme
Hey Ted-ed! I think you should make little educational games! The animation is amazing in every video!
The deeper you go, the more nightmares there are!
What's your drive,in making some critical decisions on relationships, just curious and I wanna know more about some facts in my life😟😟
Crazy to think that life continues on way below us while we’re just out and about
This sounds like a great idea for a horror movie or video game!
I glad we got a more cartoony style. Those haunt my dreams
Me at the beginning of the vid: cool, the name hatchetfish already inspires fear. and one soon learns..
beautiful 🐠
very interesting way of education
Twilight Down is my favorite zone in the ocean, and I wish to go to it.
Also this gameplay of the amazing life of a Hatchet fish, also I wish y'all a good day.
Please, could You make a video about whalefalls? These are such magnificent phenomena, I feel like everybody should learn about it.

What love the animation
You should make more videos like this
Awesomeness Mr Serling himself would be proud of.
The animation 😍
Does the intro remind anyone else of that one fish game on elementary school computers back in the late 90s? You would design a fish, swim around a chosen habitat, and eat other fish.
Is this some new Table Top game turned Video form? I'm here for it.
I'll be a Fang Tooth Soundrel with +2 in stealth! No am Angler Mage fish with light magic!
GM: Lol no, you're a Hatchet fish.
I love the way this animation is similar to mobile games in the first part
