Marin Bear Valley SE 1995 Mountain Bike Full Rebuild Restoration ASMR

In this video I’ll be rebuilding a classic Marin Bear Valley SE mountain bike that I picked up locally. Problems included, wheel bearings, headset bearings, odd tyres and the bike was caked with dried on grease so it just wanted a right good service. Best thing was to strip down the the frame and fully rebuild to make this look and ride like new again.

Thanks! It does work well and you can get the parts really cheap if you need to replace anything. My favourite of this era is M73x Deore XT. That’s what I have on my little red Cannondale 😊

I was able to buy a "virtually" new BV SE last year. Still with original tyres from '95! But now with Race King ;) It's a first-class "Mini Gravel". It will always remain in the collection :) As a teenager I always wanted a Marin, but I couldn't afford it...

I buy a lot of these bikes with the intention of keeping and riding them but I always drift back to my roughest frame which is the little red Cannondale. It’s super fun to ride and because it’s not minty I don’t have to care about giving it a bit of hammer 🔨 😅

I have this exact same year and model but its basically just the frame, bars and post that are original. Lovely bike and surprisingly light. An early Saracen or GT would be cool to see rebuilt.

They’re a real nice frame aren’t they. I’ve got an RTS-3 coming up very soon. Just waiting on a rear triangle for it and a pair of suitable forks then I can get on with it.
