I WAS THE ONLY PASSENGER! - LOGANAIR during Covid-19 - Scenic flight from Glasgow to Campbeltown

- I was suffering from aviation withdrawal symptoms. The regional UK governments recommend no foreign travel until the current wave of Covid-19 settles down, so I decided to fly with Loganair from Glasgow to Campbeltown. On this scenic flight... I was the only passenger!

The hand signals were his lunch order ...... Fajeto wrap and 5 Stellas! Enjoyed the trip. The beach looked beautiful. Thank you!
Brilliant answer!
I love Loganair. The beach landing on Barra and Orkney Inter-island flights are fantastic.
Hi Billy... With airlines struggling to get bums-on-seats, I would love Loganair to do scenic flights with some of their empty aircrafts. I think the problem is that they don't have empty aircrafts. Most flights are operating as per normal because they are a vital lifeline to remoter parts of Scotland, and are subsidised by local councils or airports. Loganair are absolutely brilliant.
Very enjoyable to watch.
Signals were telling ground crew to take chocks away and then that brakes were off and finally that they were about to power back.
Thanks for your help.
Can't wait to get on that plane and go back to what I call home
I think the hand signals are for the ground crew to remove the chocks and to let them know that a power back will happen
Thanks for your help. Greatly appreciated.
I hope that this now improves rapidly for Loganair, who sound as if they know a thing or two about good customer service.
Hi Neil. Loganair is a brilliant little airline with a very loyal following. Also, some of the routes they fly are unique, such as Barra, the world's only commercial airfield on a beach, and the route between the islands of Westray and Papa Westray which, at 1.7 miles, is the shortest commercial flight route in the world.
I really enjoy your content. Thanks
Amazing having a twin otter to yourself🤪
Ooh that looks amazing, I'm so envious! Glad you had a good flight. I would LOVE to visit Scotland. I live in the South of England so hopefully I will go one day. I haven't been on a plane for two years since I went to Belfast. But not been abroad since 1994.
Hi Kate - the way things are going, no one will be travelling abroad for some time.
@@PlanesTrainsEverything Thanks for replying. Hope you are having a good week. Will look forward to your next upload x
Another great Adventure that was fun take care my friend
A number of years ago I went to Campbeltown on the paddle steamer Waverley, got a bus to the airport and flew back. Great weather but unfortunately photographs out of window on the way back were out of focus!
thanks
I'm ex RAF ground crew, the hand signal was first chocks away for the ground crew to remove wheel chocks then the opening of clenched fist was to signal he had release the brakes. I.m not familiar with the last signal as not used on military aircraft in 80s and I worked every RAF, RN and several NATO aircraft . would be interested if that is used on places like RAF Brize norton which is more airport than military base ?
Thanks for a great reply. The mystery is just about solved!
Last signal would be for the pushback
Was there a toilet on the plane?
Wow you had your own personal plane for a day.
That's what the co-pilot said while I was on the tarmac.
Omg Rusty! Is that tiny plane safe!!! Fantastic views but where was your cabin service! !
Hi Sue - that type of plane is the backbone of regional services here in Scotland. With so many islands, it's necessary to have little planes to land on small runways. In fact one lands on a beach, and that's on my bucket list. Regrettably, no cabin service or inflight entertainment.
io sicuro mi sarei tolta la museurola !!!!
Did you need a covid test lateral flow or a pcr I’m planing to fly next month to Campbeltown and I can’t find any information on this topic x
I may have missed it but what did you go there for and how long did you stay?
Hi Lesley. This Sunday I'll have the second video available. I wanted to see the village of Machrihanish which I used to sell years ago when I worked in a travel agency. It's a popular golf resort. I then went to Campbeltown to see a painting of Jesus in a cave. I was only there for the day.
I went to menorca back in 2019 so much to there
Is it just me or would anyone else feel really awkward being the only person
I only felt awkward when approaching the aircraft from the terminal building. All of the ground crew were stranding there and looking at me.
