- In this video we're taking a look at one of the easiest and most powerful linear drum patterns and putting it together to a cool, dynamic linear drum groove.
As drummers, dynamics are one of the most important strengths we need to acquire and when you start to master the art of drum dynamics - it all sounds and feels better.
The pattern is simple with just Kick - Right - Left. Start by just practicing the pattern together with a basic groove and when you feel comfortable, then start adding dynamics to the pattern and turn it into a linear groove.

What metronome are you using for this?
I so appreciate you being the awesome one who always watches my content!
For my videos, at the moment, I'm just using the built-in metronome in Logic Pro X.
When I'm practicing on the go, I use an app called "Tempo Advance." It's an awesome metronome!

Hi CJ, is the notation available for the various grooves and beats anywhere on your channel? I have been screen grabbing them and pasting them into a word file to use when practicing but this is kind of clumsy. In a few weeks I can see a marked improvement in my drumming, I think 49% of that is maintaining the discipline to practice daily, and 51% is your channel. Thank You! (well maybe more like 20% for daily practice and 80% for That Swedish Drummer) :-)
