Excellent "How to" Video - Thanks for sharing - One of my new "Must - Watch " Channels! These guys are making a mark in the Catfish Game !....Check out my latest videos too..
Excellent Information on your Video. I have been so busy playing games with the military for the past 33 years and wife is getting ready to retire in the UN LIKED STATE OF CALIFORNIA and we are Moving to Texas hopefully within the next 3 months. I do not have a fish finder or a boat and never have had one, BUT... I am moving to Texas within hopefully the next 100 days and I still have to tell the wife what she is getting me for Christmas. ( A 1448 Jon Boat and a few toys to go with it) I have been doing research and trying to learn things in advance to help me decide what to Get and how to play with it after I get it. Your video is really helping me lean what things look like etc... Thanks for the help and the easy to understand and follow instructions... The best video so far I have found when it comes to using a Fish Finder... I have subscribed..
Just got your channel from Steve Douglas catfish dude. Pretty awesome you guys help me out like that weighing that fish! Being cool like that gained me as a subscriber! Good luck on the water guys!
Awesome video of how to setup and understand your fish finder!! I actually have a Lowrance, however, the settings are similar and I now understand some of what I've been looking at!! Thanks brother!!
Thanks for the video out of all the how to videos I've seen you explained it the best far better than anyone has I live close to pickwick lake and trying to get my helix 7 dialed in you have helped me tremendously thanks so much
Awesome video... Found you from the shout out by Steve Douglas on his channel... I'm a new supporter and can't wait to watch more videos and learn your tricks...
Very useful for me - thanks. U so young but know much more than me. I have same exact 10” helix but gen 1. I just use it to find ledges and anchor there blind. My settings must be very wrong, i rarely see big fish. And i never see nice arches.
This would have been better at night hard to see with glair and brown color. Also would have been nice to put the sun in front so it was not making screen unseeable. This was great info and explanation just wish it was more visible with explanation.
Awesome great explanation I learned more from this video then any video i saw so far thanks for posting. I have a question are you running a seaark procat 200 if so what is the largest size hummingbird helix you can mount without obstructing your vision.
great... Thanks I will be watching for it... I was trying to see what I could but it was hard at times.. .But I Really liked the info you put out and it helped me a lot as I am n the learning and research part of it.
Phenomenal video... a good refresher for me. i.e. clear/max mode. Can't wait for the solix video. Get'er done...! So hitting the check mark allows you to change frequencies quickly vs in the menus? Didnt know that.
Any tips for bass? I've never seen a single arch on my mega 10 + and it's very irritating with the money spent. Lol. My oldschool 10 year old lorwrance finds me more fish. Thanks for the help.
I have a hummingbird 1199 and I have changed settings a hundred times and I can not see arches for real it is not my first unit I had a 597 and saw a few fish with it can u help me how 2 set 1199 di si
Great video. thanks for sharing. This video DOES NOT pop up when we search for mega imaging settings or hummingbird mega imaging etc. i think you should change the name /title of the video to simply hummingbird mega imaging or other easy to search names so more people could watch this video and learn from you. thank you again for sharing with us.
Hey bud awesome videos. I'd like to invite you to come to NC some time man we hold a lot of tournaments on the yadkin river chain and pull out some hogs. Plenty of big fish in lakes and good crowd to fish with. If you would like get with me and I will send you a flyer for next years tournament series
Yes ,fall time the Kerr will have a tournament called fall brawl and in the winter time it's called the ice bowl. Big turn out maybe see you there this year
With your colors I could not really see much on the SI. Probably just the lighting or glare. Really just looked black with the white distance lines. Have not decided yet if I want to go with Humminbird or Lowrance. leaning toward the Lowrance hook 2 tripleshot.
I do not have a fish finder, or even a boat yet but still researching... Do you have to pay extra for GPS on a fish finder and for maps? Maybe I am not using the right terminology But like if I want to mark a spot to come back to or if I want to know exactly were I am on GPS is that a extra charge or is it included with the fish finders. I am still researching on what to get for later.
CatFish 911 when you buy a unit you’ll need a navionics card or lake master card for it. Lake master only works for humminbird units. After that there’s no more cost, no monthly fees if that’s what you mean.
This is going to be the winner of the dumbest question but when your point out all the logs and rocks, where are these in relationship to the transducer?... 25 feet behind the boat? directly under the transducer? By the time one sees the image how far away is the boat?
WAR BROTHER THE RIVER MAN some setting will I’m not very familiar with those units so I don’t want to give you and bad info. However the imaging side of things won’t be able to reach the quality since the birds came out with mega.
Jason I turn chirp off because with chirp I can’t see arch details. With catfish they display a very specific arch return. If I had that on I could mistake stripe, carp, or gar because they would all look similar.
@@BackwoodsCatfishing gotya thanks for the reply. I'm in process of getting this 12 worked out due to humminbirds 1.9 update. Will give it a try. Thanks
You will need to go into settings (menu twice on any screen) go all the way over 2nd from right I think. In that column you’ll see a setting that says user mode. Depending on when you bought that unit it will say either advanced mode or custom mode. Turn that on. Then go to the bottom of that column and you’ll see chirp configuration. Select 2D and turn that off. Now your unit will read 200khz or 83khz.
Jessie Barrington catfish on 2D sonar will have a 3/4 arch with a hard hit on the head because of the bone density. However we don’t know what they will eat until we try giving them some bait.
Humminbirds are great until something goes wrong with the unit, they will promise you the world and do nothing. I had the unit a couple months only, I sent the unit in for repair or replacement months ago, I guess I am out the money spent on it and will never see it again. So be careful what you buy and who you buy from.
Excellent "How to" Video - Thanks for sharing - One of my new "Must - Watch " Channels!

K&B Anglers it should have similar settings they just are named something else I would imagine I’ve never had a lowrance.

Double check that your frequency is set to how mine is. You can get arch’s my sonar settings are the exact same as the gen 1

My side imaging works well
I am learning a lot from you just would be much better if the sun glare wasnt so bad... but still is better then any others I have found.. Thank You
CatFish 911 the next video will be better. I plan on redoing this I wasn’t aware of the glare until I starting importing video to my computer
great... Thanks I will be watching for it... I was trying to see what I could but it was hard at times.. .But I Really liked the info you put out and it helped me a lot as I am n the learning and research part of it.

Where are you located in Alabama? I’m in Cullman county near Smith Lake and Duck river.
Any tips for bass? I've never seen a single arch on my mega 10 + and it's very irritating with the money spent. Lol. My oldschool 10 year old lorwrance finds me more fish. Thanks for the help.
Just subbed y’all great video brother!!!!
Thank you! Hope you find the channel helpful.
What do you see on the HBird for good bait fish to catch/net?
Nice explanation. Could you tell me please witch gen of mega si? My G3N Mega 9 dont have that menu of 83Khz.
I have a hummingbird 1199 and I have changed settings a hundred times and I can not see arches for real it is not my first unit I had a 597 and saw a few fish with it can u help me how 2 set 1199 di si

Mud Cat we’ve definitely wanted to get up there and fish Kerr and gaston
Yes ,fall time the Kerr will have a tournament called fall brawl and in the winter time it's called the ice bowl. Big turn out maybe see you there this year
That is why hummingbird has fish id, Take all the guess work out of it,
What part of alabama you from
With your colors I could not really see much on the SI. Probably just the lighting or glare. Really just looked black with the white distance lines. Have not decided yet if I want to go with Humminbird or Lowrance. leaning toward the Lowrance hook 2 tripleshot.
Very informative video, thanks.
Yes I didn’t realize the glare was that bad when I was filming. When I come back to this it’s gonna be much better
Also found you from Steve D video
D Tbone thanks for watching hopefully you’ll learn something here
We’re did u get the mounting bracket

Would these work for a older Humminbird 998 unit?
Why is the screen and ground Moving on a fishfinder!? I never understood this!
Can you please tell me what color palette you are using?
Tony Harvey this is pallet 6
Great video. Is this the mega Di or Si model?
It’s the Helix 10 G2N SI
Backwoods Catfishing , thanks man. Appreciate your videos!
What unit is that
This is going to be the winner of the dumbest question but when your point out all the logs and rocks, where are these in relationship to the transducer?... 25 feet behind the boat? directly under the transducer? By the time one sees the image how far away is the boat?
It depends on what mode your in. Down imaging is directly underneath the boat. Side imaging is either side of the boat
Will some of these settings b the same for other brands ie: say Garmin or lowrance?
WAR BROTHER THE RIVER MAN some setting will I’m not very familiar with those units so I don’t want to give you and bad info. However the imaging side of things won’t be able to reach the quality since the birds came out with mega.
@@BackwoodsCatfishing right on ty brother
Why do you turn off chirp on sonar? I have a helix 12 mega so kind of interested in the benefits.
Thanks
What humminbird helix is your unit?
Tony Harvey that’s a helix 10 mega
Do you run a separate transducer for your 2d sonar?
No I don’t it’s the factory transducer
I have the helix mega 12 and the 2d sonar I cant change it to 83khz it dont give me that option.
You will need to go into settings (menu twice on any screen) go all the way over 2nd from right I think. In that column you’ll see a setting that says user mode. How do you know that it is catfish and what are they bitting
Jessie Barrington catfish on 2D sonar will have a 3/4 arch with a hard hit on the head because of the bone density. However we don’t know what they will eat until we try giving them some bait.
Can I do this to my helix 12 gen one
Yes you can only thing you won’t have on that model is mega
What sonar is that
That’s a helix 10 mega, a solix video will be released soon
Humminbirds are great until something goes wrong with the unit, they will promise you the world and do nothing. All these guys that's spending big money on these fish finders gonna be pissed when this new federal law they trying to pass to make them illegal
Sorry had to give you a thumbs down. You present yourself as a salesman for Hummingbird.
Bobby Noname definitely not, they are not even a sponsor for us.
What kind of boat do you have ?
Steve Ramer it’s a G3 Sportsman 200
