R.L. Burnside - Burnside On Burnside (Full Album Stream)

- Опубліковано 1 сер 2024
- RL Burnside’s first break came in the early ‘90s when the documentary film based on author Robert Palmer’s book Deep Blues featured R.L. as one of its highlights. Subsequently Palmer produced R.L.’s Too Bad Jim for the fledgling Fat Possum label. Along with Junior Kimbrough’s All Night Long, Too Bad Jim was one of the most important and influential blues albums of the ‘90s.
In the year 2001, R.L. Burnside was still breaking down boundaries, and bringing the blues to where it had never gone before. Listen up.

This genius does more with one chord than most bands do with 10. He makes it seem easy, but doing a lot with a little is one of the hardest things in any art form.
This is the most awesome album by R. L. Burnside in my opinion. The atmosphere of a juke joint, raw power, and an in your face sound. Love it! If I had to go to a remote island and only pick one album to take with me, I'd pick this one. Thank you, Fat Possum Records, for giving us this jewel!!
It's like an out of control freight train thundering down the tracks, best thing I have heard in years, astonishing.
High level of the force. Stay in heaven to play for the angels all night long..
One of my favorite live shows. So brutally authentic. Long live R.L.!! 😎🎸🙏
One of the best live blues albums there is.
OMG....I JUST found out about this amazing blues brother today!!! SHIT FIRE he's good and my go to on PANDORA! Thank you for givin us what we need!! SOUL FOOD!
These songs are my garden of delights!!
Lord bless you, Mr Robert!!
Took way too long for the world to know the amazing talent of Mr. Burnside. Been listening and loving, and learning since the early 80's. Thanks to the late night weekend DJ at WKSU back in the day. Jeff Esworthy was a senior at my school when I was a freshman. His musical interests were eclectic, to say the least. He played a sitar at the senior talent show and won! ;O
A few years later I was glad to hear a familiar voice on the radio.
I started taping those shows on cassettes to learn how to play guitar, and because I absolutely Loved the music! Still Love it just as much!!! Won't stop playing until I can't.
BTW the story that leads into 'He Ain't Your Daddy' has me laughing no matter how many times I hear it. That's my go to on any bad day. ;D
I was there. What a night!
Thanks tout!!😮

to me, Robert Johnson is true blues. Burnside is closest to that.

i hope to see you in heaven someday ... i might have to travel for that one...
who knows tho it could be a stairway to the heavens or ...well ...a highway to hell
its hard to say really, what the future holds or were we'll go back to or how far we'll go before we return back to the very earth its self...
Get straight man before it takes all of yer
Jack White stole this style lol its ok Jack I still love you.
Dan aurbach stole it better
Saying he stole it suggests he got away with it. White stripes is reminiscent at best of this heavyweight. It's ok Jack, I still love you.
