Yes. One might think Herman Li and Sam Totman are the ultimate guitar duo, and they are indeed super technical, but what comes to playing together well and working with melodies and rhythms in a perfect sync. Midori and Miyako just do it better. I also think the girls are more consistent, with less mistakes in live setting.

Elite level musicianship in this band. No one member carries the band. They equally bring perfection to the table. In my opinion, it's one of the best collections of talent in a single band I have seen in over 50 years of being a metalhead.
I totally agree. I went to my first rock concert in 1978. It was Deep Purple. And since then I saw, Metallica, Judas Priest, Saxons, Accept, Motorhead,Megadeth,Pink Floyd, Supertramp,Symphony X, Nightwish, Rammstein, Dream Theater, Epica... well so many and not all are metal or rock. But Lovebites was really magical. I saw them in Paris on June 25th. Then in Clisson (Hellfest) on June 28th. They are amazing, kind, humble. And what a musicianship. My wife got a High five by Midori and I got a fist bump by Asami.

A little extra info. This concert was recorded in March 2021 and was under strict Covid restrictions. The audience were limited to 50% capacity with mandatory masks and no shouting or cheering. Miyako, the Guitarist with long black hair playing the Dean ML Switchblade was several months pregnant. The only concession she made for a 2 hour concert was to wear flat shoes instead of her usual high heels.

Congratulations on discovering Lovebites. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. Welcome to the Wolfpack. 🐺. Named after the Grammy winning song, Love Bites (So DO I) by Halestorm. Lead singer ,Asami, has joined Halestorm at Download 2019 to perform that song. Formed in 2016 by drummer Haruna and original bassist Miho(seen here) after their former band , Destrose, broke up. Miyako and Midori (blond pony tail) are IMO 2 of the best guitarists today. Miho left in 2021, Fami won the auditions and joined in Oct 2022. Good call on the bay area sound, Metallica is one of their big influences, along with Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Helloween. Some songs lean towards the thrash, some towards power metal, and a few ballads. 4 EP's and 4 full albums, and a bunch of concert DVD's to date. This song comes from the 2020 3rd album, Electric Pentagram. Lyrics by Asami, music by Miyako. As you see, they are awesome live. Suggest "Holy War" and "Swan Song" with Chopin piano intro (Miyako is a classically trained pianinst) , both from Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020. Hello fellow Aussie. You've just discovered probably the most musically talented metal band to appear in the last two or three decades. Your comparisons are spot on. LOVEBITES catalogue consists of almost 70 extremely well written original metal songs that are clearly influenced by the classic metal sound of the 1980s and early 1990s. Iron Maiden is the most obvious comparison (although LOVEBITES play harder and faster than Maiden), but you'll also hear influences of Judas Priest, Megadeth, early Metallica, Anthrax, Helloween, Slayer, Testament, Motörhead etc ... For any fan of classic 80s metal, LOVEBITES may very well become their new favourite band, as they have become mine. Asami's vocal style is often described as being like a female Bruce Dickinson, perhaps with some Ronnie James Dio thrown in the mix. She sings in English, but her strong accent and poor enunciation means it can be difficult to understand her. If lyrics matter, I say just Google them and you'll know exactly what she's singing. But its the musicianship that puts this band on par with a band like Dream Theater. Every one of them are elite on their instrument. Miyako and Midori are possibly the best guitar duo in the history of heavy metal. Haruna, the drummer is a machine, who can play at 190 bpm for 2 hours straight, all the time throwing in some of the best fills and cymbal work you'll ever hear ... and without breaking a sweat. Their new bassist is one of the best technical bassists I've ever seen. Continue down this rabbit hole my friend. If you appreciate high quality metal music, you won't find a LOVEBITES song you don't like.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about them: The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest. They also played their first US shows this year in September. In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs. Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. Their tiny bassist even does death growls! They just released their new album “Born Again” on June 28 and it’s a banger. BURRN is calling it a masterpiece. Metal Hammer compares them to Lovebites. Yes. One might think Herman Li and Sam Totman are the ultimate guitar duo, and they are indeed super technical, but what comes to playing together well and working with melodies and rhythms in a perfect sync. Midori and Miyako just do it better. I also think the girls are more consistent, with less mistakes in live setting.

Elite level musicianship in this band. No one member carries the band. They equally bring perfection to the table. In my opinion, it's one of the best collections of talent in a single band I have seen in over 50 years of being a metalhead.
I totally agree. I went to my first rock concert in 1978. It was Deep Purple. And since then I saw, Metallica, Judas Priest, Saxons, Accept, Motorhead,Megadeth,Pink Floyd, Supertramp,Symphony X, Nightwish, Rammstein, Dream Theater, Epica... well so many and not all are metal or rock. But Lovebites was really magical. I saw them in Paris on June 25th. Then in Clisson (Hellfest) on June 28th. They are amazing, kind, humble. And what a musicianship. My wife got a High five by Midori and I got a fist bump by Asami.

A little extra info. This concert was recorded in March 2021 and was under strict Covid restrictions. The audience were limited to 50% capacity with mandatory masks and no shouting or cheering. Miyako, the Guitarist with long black hair playing the Dean ML Switchblade was several months pregnant. The only concession she made for a 2 hour concert was to wear flat shoes instead of her usual high heels.

Best metal band to come along in decades. They are phenomenal. Elite musicians who compose at the same level. Midori & Miyako are among the best duos I've heard ever. Dive deeper, they just get more impressive.
Congratulations on discovering Lovebites. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons.

Welcome to the Wolfpack. 🐺. Named after the Grammy winning song, Love Bites (So DO I) by Halestorm. Lead singer ,Asami, has joined Halestorm at Download 2019 to perform that song. Formed in 2016 by drummer Haruna and original bassist Miho(seen here) after their former band , Destrose, broke up. Miyako and Midori (blond pony tail) are IMO 2 of the best guitarists today. Miho left in 2021, Fami won the auditions and joined in Oct 2022. Good call on the bay area sound, Metallica is one of their big influences, along with Slayer, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Helloween. Some songs lean towards the thrash, some towards power metal, and a few ballads. 4 EP's and 4 full albums, and a bunch of concert DVD's to date. This song comes from the 2020 3rd album, Electric Pentagram. Lyrics by Asami, music by Miyako. As you see, they are awesome live. Suggest "Holy War" and "Swan Song" with Chopin piano intro (Miyako is a classically trained pianinst) , both from Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020. Hello fellow Aussie. You've just discovered probably the most musically talented metal band to appear in the last two or three decades. Your comparisons are spot on. LOVEBITES catalogue consists of almost 70 extremely well written original metal songs that are clearly influenced by the classic metal sound of the 1980s and early 1990s. Iron Maiden is the most obvious comparison (although LOVEBITES play harder and faster than Maiden), but you'll also hear influences of Judas Priest, Megadeth, early Metallica, Anthrax, Helloween, Slayer, Testament, Motörhead etc ... For any fan of classic 80s metal, LOVEBITES may very well become their new favourite band, as they have become mine.
Asami's vocal style is often described as being like a female Bruce Dickinson, perhaps with some Ronnie James Dio thrown in the mix. She sings in English, but her strong accent and poor enunciation means it can be difficult to understand her. If lyrics matter, I say just Google them and you'll know exactly what she's singing.
But its the musicianship that puts this band on par with a band like Dream Theater. Every one of them are elite on their instrument. Miyako and Midori are possibly the best guitar duo in the history of heavy metal. Haruna, the drummer is a machine, who can play at 190 bpm for 2 hours straight, all the time throwing in some of the best fills and cymbal work you'll ever hear ... and without breaking a sweat. Their new bassist is one of the best technical bassists I've ever seen.
Continue down this rabbit hole my friend. If you appreciate high quality metal music, you won't find a LOVEBITES song you don't like.

Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations.
Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice during their recent European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen in over 60 years 🤘🐺

There aren't many metal guitarists today who could match either of their technical guitar skills. But when you put Midori and Miyako together, there's no other guitar duo around that could keep up with them. Personally I think they are the best metal guitar duo of all time.

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already released 4 full length studio albums, 4 EPs, a best of compilation and a bunch of live albums, available on CD/DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They also played their first US shows this year in September.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. They are not chicks, they are magnificent LADY'S.
Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. Their tiny bassist even does death growls!
They just released their new album “Born Again” on June 28 and it’s a banger. BURRN is calling it a masterpiece. Metal Hammer compares them to Lovebites. They have posted two video singles from the album:
