Cake for her birthday after her relapse and recovery means a lot to her, to the point she even wrote the song “Melon Cake” about it. She was so haunted by her body image issues and eating disorders and they made all of it worse. When she started again into her bulimia it got so bad she was vomiting blood and when she asked for help her manager told her sending her to rehab would make them look bad and she wasn’t sick enough. 💔 she/ they have been through so fucking much.

I’m 36 and I knew when my baby sister who is 12 years younger introduced me to Demi when they were 12 watching camp rock ( I want to say it was 2008 ( because I was pregnant with my 14 yr old daughter ). I KNEW then that they were gonna be a huge star. Their vocals are amazing. I went to her ( she uses the pronouns they,them,her & she now ) concert in 2017 in St. Louis when she toured with Nick Jonas and I begged my ex wife for tickets and she got us 4th row seats for our anniversary. When I say I had cold chills the majority of the show because her voice / lyrics she sang made me so emotional. She sings from the heart. I’ve too struggled with opioid addiction and it will be 8 years clean from them on Dec 31st ( yes I got sober on NYE ). Demi might be younger than I but we’ve battled our emotional trauma ( our upbringing) and everything our addiction put us through and then to overcome and work through our pain/ emotional trauma is one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through . I’m sure they would say the same exact thing. I’m so proud of Demi . I thank her for being real and authentic. The industry will eat you up and spit you back out and she’s handled it with more grace than I ever could’ve !
