- The Source Filmmaker Discord server is hosting another collaboration event, inspired by a previous Pwnisher collaboration. I figured I'd make something too! If you want to join in on the fun, head on over to the Discord server below for more information! The deadline is June 30th, so there's plenty of time to get involved. ;)

It took a while to settle on an idea I liked, but I eventually ended up on something a little Death Stranding-inspired. The scene took around 2 evenings to make.

I absolutely love animations like this, while they are somewhat simple, the environmental storytelling is phenomenal
The little puddles of water were my favorite because they were reflective.
Back in my “communal lego bin of elementary” days, the clear lego pieces were like currency among kids because they were tiny and hard to find in the bin, now a part of me is still attracted to clear or shiny things hahah.

Damn Harry. You absolutely need to talk about your process and methods more - your original “how to make source filmmaker look good video” is still one I recommend to people (which almost always are non-SFM users) all the time, because you explain the actually important principles so well - stuff that isn’t specific to one software, but rather methods like lighting, framing etc. and graphics concepts like bounce lighting and areal shadowing. I would really like to see more of that :)

Very Nice. I am taking my time working on models and setups for scenes part of my BW project. I should start having stuff like this in a few months.
The interesting part is what software are you using? I use Lightwave as my main software. Keep up the projects.

Hope this attracts game developers to the Source 2 game engine. I hardly know any using it for their games.

I feel that the least that could have been done would have been to contact Clint's discord if you wanted to reuse the idea, the pose and camera.
Glad to see that the discord is inspiring others to create art, but copiying someone's work is a bit dickish.

Clinton "pwnisher" Jones and his team dedicated a lot of time and effort to organize a huge 3D community challenge, in which more than 2400 artists participated.

The user here reused the concept, backbone organisation, camera setting and an extremely similar pose without crediting the previous work, asking for authorization, nor contacting us in any way at all.
@@ronanlegall3642 Hey there; to be clear, absolutely nothing here was from Clint's project files. The entire project, from character animation to camera was animated from scratch in Source Filmmaker (and uses free Mixamo mocap data). The idea was of course heavily inspired by the Pwnisher collab, to inspire the much smaller SFM community and have a bit of fun. No infringement or animosity was intended.
@@ronanlegall3642 But... this is still an original creation. Clinton doesn't own this pose or camera setup, it has been done time and time again in films and games (I mean, look at death stranding for instance) - and the scene composition and creation as you could see was entirely original so I don't see the issue here ? Its not like this is some big commercial thing, its just a small collaboration with a tiny community, so I don't see any issue. Nothing tangible was stolen or copied. Was it inspired ? Maybe, I don't know. And especially seeing that the thing you say was stolen from was an open collaboration anyway I literally can't find any reason whatsoever why you are complaining.

I'm just saying it's not a cool move not to have contacted Clint and his team, not that anything was actually stolen besides the idea of such a challenge and the concept of the art
