I’ve gotten a couple of comments about the Ishin variants, and even though I didn’t include spin-offs, if I had to rank them in here, Doubt would be above the current number 4 and Archetype would be over the current number 3.
My personal favorite is Slash You and I have the theory that it reminds to Kiryu's theme cause the motivation of Majima at this point. This time he's not fighting only for fighting (well yes, but he has a purpose xd), he fights to protect Haruka, Kiryu's daughter, and in my headcanon that's the reason why the theme feels nostalgic and a Mix between Majima's themes madness and Receive you. His purpose to fight Saejima is to protect Kiryu's legacy and Haruka's dreams
Receive and bite you is such a good choice , it makes me wanna run into a room full of 50 dudes and use that rising knee move Saejima uses. It also is a really good work out song 😮💨
With Receive and Stab You, I think it was trying to show off Majima's more serious side, as Yakuza 3 has alot of more Serious Majima moments, and I believe the only serious moment Majima had before then was when he got beat up in Yakuza 2. The part after the "Showdown" part is so good, I'm surprised you didn't mention it.
at first I was like aw man hyperactive didnt get number one then I immediately realized bite was number one and was like "uh I no longer feel upset it earned it spot"
I literally predicted every single one of these songs perfectly in ranking because I would rank all of these the exact same. I said to myself "If bite isn't the top and turn second, there is something wrong". Bite encapsulates everything Majima. It just ramps up to let you know this guy is a fucking maniac. Bravo
For me personally, Receive and Stab you would feel perfectly for a secret Majima fight in Kurohyou, or something like that, this version just has that Kurohyou vibe.
Bro 8:42 goes crazy I swear. All the transitions into the rank are amazing. Also you did a much better job at explaining the mad dog style theme than I did lol
@@FullyB8ked Hahaha I wish I put more time into UA-cam tbh. Twitch is my baby at the moment, but I gotta get on it over here 😅 Just your friendly neighborhood Majima obsessed girlie ☺️👌✨
Personally Receive You The Prototype is the perfect Majima song, i think its due to it having more of a foreboding feeling to it, but also a bit of that insanity that we all know and love.
Yeah bite is my fave aswell. The entire scene preceding it builds the tension so that when the cork finally pops with "Ikude, KYODAAAIII!" Your heart is already thumping.
Madtype is very interesting for me, it goes great, falls off, picks up again, over, and over, like at the minute twelve mark it goes down, i really like the synthy(?) part at the start, and wish it was used more throughout the entire song
Receive and bite you is so damn good. Just when you think it’s letting up, it just gets even louder, faster, and more intense. It’s exactly what you’d expect to hear fighting a lightning fast demon.
Feel incredibly called out as I was about to type a comment in defense of 3 right as you say "the average Mine fan". Great list though! Love how you went into your reasonings instead of just numbering them and being done with it.
Weirdly enough "Receive and Stab you" seems to share a lot more of it's leitmotif with "Sneakin' Drive" from "Like a Dragon: Kenzan," which was a Japanese exclusive Yakuza game that launched before Yakuza 3, than with "Receive You" itself. In Kenzan "Sneakin' Drive" was the boss track for Majima. You'll probably notice some similarities between it and "Stab you" if you listen to them side by side.
Ngl i was a bit sad to see stab at the bottom in my opinion its perfect to watch a purely insane human to serious is perfect specifically bc the voices and guitar and what plays near the end and inspiye of the changes not being smooth its better because majima is gritty asf
The only ones I’d probably swap are Slash and Madtype-the latter leans too much into dissonant synth for my taste. Everything else is basically perfect-maybe even swap Prototype and Subtype (Prototype is just so RAW) from there, but I absolutely agree that Bite is the all-around best.
Receive And Slash You would've been my #1 favourite if it had more than just one "showdown, it falls down" in the entire track Prototype is also among my favourites, but it's just so raw and it's a slightly modified version of Kiryu's version of Receive You from 1, so I don't find it anything special.
I remember playing yakuza 4 with receive and bite you being amazing fast paced. Helping best to show that you were incredibly slow a Saejima compared to you as he spins knife circles around you. I feel like too many end up playing the newer entries and just sleeping on bite because it's an older game and having the fact that Like a Dragon doesn't need much of the other games to carry itself. Receive and Turn you is still good. It's just not bite.
I do have a favorite semi Majima theme that isn't a "Receive you", And that one is Reign. When his girl got hurt and he left the hospital to commit the most satisfying act of revenge ever. He fought the dojima family singlehandedly
I want to give a small correction regarding the first PS3 Yakuza title: It was not 3, but in fact the Japan-exclusive ''Kenzan!''. That one is a retelling of the story of the historically important Samurai Miyamoto Musashi; in the style of Yakuza. It has more sword fighting than brawling, so it kinda counts as a Hack 'n Slash.
It’s not the worst yakuza game, it’s the weakest. Yakuza 3 is still really good, it’s just suffers a bit due to the passage of time and the remaster supposedly not doing the combat justice. Worst implies it’s severely lacking, while weakest implies it’s just not as strong as the others.
@@FullyB8ked The glitchy and blocky remaster aside, I still wouldnt call it weak. The understandable and straightforward plot (except for the minister part I really hated that) and really likeable and alive characters (Rikiya my beloved) make Yakuza 3 way "stronger" than Yakuza 4 for example which you could say was done better with longer story and 4 playable characters with Akiyama and Saejima being the most memorable ones. But the plot and overall feeling of Yakuza 4 was way weaker than 3 in my opinion.
Gotta disagree with 3 being the weakest game, the remaster kinda fucked the game a bit but it's def still mad fun, I would say 5 is the weakest. Good video though. My ranking worst to best Subtype Slash Stab Prototype Madtype Hyperactive Recieve and bite you KYODAAAAAI
@holfwaley1588 but in a nutshell, 5 is a downgrade combo wise and enemy ai wise in every way. Enemy ai is just fuckin abysmal, their attacks have no tells majority of the time and they're really hard to read. They also love blocking and turn while you hit them, also can just block from behind sometimes because this game was designed. so getting behind them is barely even a solution anymore. Characters like saejima and akiyama were dumbed down and given less to work with, In akiyamas case he straight up loses access to a lot of good moves because of the stupid launcher bs. Saejima on the other hand almost lost his entire combo game due to bounds being killed. Kiryu is still mostly fine and pretty fun tho but I think the bounding in 3 allowed for more fun, if bounding still worked in 5 it'd be pretty damn fun. But as is it's just really bleh for me to play, especially akiyama. That was still a bit of an essay, sorry.
@@scottyj8655 I agree with most of the reasons you gave, though I feel like the first reason applies to Yakuza 3 as well. I just think that it's an overstatement to say that 5 is the weakest since the good things outweigh heavily the bad ones *cough* tiger drop buff *cough*

I personally kinda dig how Receive And Slash You has the leitmotif of _Kiryu's_ version of Receive You. Not sure why, I just do.
I never noticed that, doesn't really change its position in my mind but that's cool to know

8: Madtype
9: Subtype
