His game relies more on strength and size than they would like and there's always the "killer instinct" narrative that he'll never escape.
To be fair to Lebron, the skill level of the league is way higher now and the pace has increased to speeds unseen since the 70's and that elevates Lebron too.
Most of the all-time greats from the pre-90's NBA wouldn't make a team today and gap in skill is only getting bigger with time.
MJ, Isiah Thomas and Bird are the only players with skill levels that could translate to the modern game and still have hall of fame careers.
Take my favorite basketball player growing up, Magic. He was a bad defender, a bad shooter and could barely dribble with his left hand.
Some consider him the greatest point guard of all time but he'd be lucky if he was a starting power forward today.
