  • Charles Barkley Wants LeBron James To Retire Soon So He's Not Michael Jordan On The Wizards
"I hope he retires while he can still play. I've been there myself. I saw Patrick Ewing on his last legs. Saw Michael Jordan playing with the Wizards. That's the greatest player I played against, I don't want to see him doing that with the Wizards."

Lebron has become a liability in spite of his stats. KD is starting to look better as a sixth man. Westbrook is washed. CP should’ve retired years ago tbh. Lowry is stealing money these days. Kawhi has spent most of the past five seasons injured. It’s a changing of the guard, time for these guys to bow out gracefully for the sake of the game.

I like how y’all are just talking Jordans offense during those years and not even mentioning the lack of defense. Yet literally every time Lebron steps foot on the court some of y’all be going on whole tirades about how he’s not trying on defense, why doesn’t he stop anybody, etc.
I just find it funny how Jordan fans seem to give him all the benefit of the doubt on things like that but literally turn right around and crucify Lebron for doing the same thing.

Jamal Mashburn is another excellent example of a great player who maybe wasn’t a bonafide superstar player, but he is an outstanding businessman and grew an amazing portfolio over many years of wise business choices. Exactly. Compared to 90's Jordan obviously he had lost a step and couldn't elevate anymore. But Jordan was averaging 25 6 and 5 until he got injured. And he got really injured. Not "I was basically playing with a broken hand" after dunking all game injured.
Up until the All Star Break there were 2 players averaging 25 5 and 5. Jordan and Kobe.
Kobe ended the season with 25 5.5 and 5.5 on 47% from the floor.
In Jordan's last 10 games before the injury he was averaging 29.7 6.6 and 6.1 on 47% from the floor.
When LeBron came into the league he averaged 21 5.5 and 6 on 42% from the floor.
If Jordan was washed with 25 6 and 5 then what was LeBron doing as a rookie.

before the meniscus injury, jordan was getting *better* averaging 25, 6, and 5 . Not only that, 20 games before the injury, he was averaging 27.5, 6.5, and 5. 10 games before the injury, he was averaging 29.7, 6.6, and 6. He did all this while still getting into basketball shape and having broken his ribs. The wizards were on pace to be a 50-winn team, and that would have pushed them to a potential payoff run . The year before jordan, they were a 19-win team. People who were saying jordans wizard years were straight garbage and didn't actually watch the games. He played on a bad meniscus for 14 games before finally getting surgery. If jordan hadnt been carrying the majority of the load most likely he wouldn't have gotten as injured, if he had the same team as some of these old stars at that point in his career he probably would have at least won 1 more ring. If jordan was able to do all that without being a top ten player in the league at that point, what are we talking about. Also jordan was not trash on defense his defensive rating his last year was 102.9. Rudy goberts defensive rating this year is 104.2. The wizards had the second worse defense in the league before jordan. After adding him they become the 6th best defense in the league. Anyone who thinks jordan wasnt also playing defense didnt watch those games. The man was still hussling to try amd block on bad knees.

The problem it’s when people put things out of context and don’t put things in perspective.
    1. The league on the 80s and 90s were based on physicality. Prayer didn’t last that long.
    2. New roles are made to protect the investment of advertisers and team investment.
    3. The offense it’s now spread out because of the three points shot, and benefits the mead range players due to the lack of big players.
    4. When Shanon saids that Jordan took a break, his it’s not understanding that changing a sport to adapt to another it’s more difficult than continuing with your own. Coming back from playing a total different sport and in just a year and half break the all time winning record! And tree picking for the second time. achieving what even today has never done twice like hem.

He's talking about players that went straight from High School to pro.

did you even watch the video? he was talking about players that jumped straight to the NBA from high school. Use your brain, please. Barkley played in the same era with Jordan. If anything, he'd be very protective of his era. Aint no way he's going to say anything that might diminish the accomplishments of the players in his era.

Last 10 games before getting injured. 29.7 points, 1.4 offensive rebounds, 5.2 defensive rebounds for a total of 6.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists on 47% shooting.
Across those 46 games he had 25 6 and 5.
Kobe ended the season with 25 5.5 and 5.5. Shooting 47% from the floor.
It's such a shame Jordan got injured when he did. He would have carried that 19 win Wizards team to the 5th or even the 4th seed and shut all the haters up.
But now the clowns can point at his numbers, leave out the context of him getting injured, missing a dozen games and playing the last part of the season on restricted minutes and say "See, Jordan was a bum at 40!"
They often don't even know Jordan was right up there with the best up until the All Star Break because they've only ever heard Nick Wrong talk about it and have never seen any basketball game before 2015.

Those bogus, inflated stats aside... he's worse than what he's making Mike out to have been in DC.
Shannon just COULDN'T get through this interview without this Klutch Sports nonsense.
June 2011 ended ANY discussion of "GOAT" for LeBron James before most knuckleheads on Klutch Sports payroll on TV could even get started.

yes he was bad he was the one that assembled that team in 2 years he made all drafts and trades for that team then he bragged about how its gonna be a dynasty and was so sure of himself he thought he could come out of retirement and milk out a few more rings but... NOOOOOOOPE THEY SUCKED!! so yeah he was bad he wrecked that franchise then left them and bought into charlotte instead of staying around to help rebuild it after he ruined it all HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
