    I've made recipes from cookbooks you've recommended before, but this has been my first time attempting a specific recipe that you've done a video on. Having your footage to use as an additional guide was a big help in following along with the steps. I hadn't browned chicken before, so seeing what yours looked like helped me to gauge whether mine were done yet or not.
    One thing I immediately appreciate about the way this recipe is written is that it frontloads all of the chopping work into step one. I'm personally still quite slow when it comes to stuff like chopping and peeling, and if I leave some cutting steps until stuff's already cooking then I can easily end up falling behind on when ingredients need to be added to the pot. For this reason, I usually parse through an entire recipe looking for any mention of slicing & dicing, and re-order the steps in my head to complete my mise en place before I turn any heat on.
    With this recipe though that wasn't necessary, because the steps were already in the exact order I would want to do things in!
    The amount of salt the recipe called for did worry me somewhat, so I reduced it slightly and I think that was the right call since it came out tasting pretty much perfect.

    • @MisoHungrie
      @MisoHungrie  2 роки тому +8

      Glad it helped! And yeah I'm the same way. I usually prep all the ingredients beforehand cuz when the fire gets goin' it's hard to stop!

    It cool to see the cookbook covers dishes from all kinds of cultures, I wonder if it covers any more? Also, I loved the little touches like the montage at the start and straw hat at the end. They're small, but it makes clear your passion for channel :)

    Curry, One Piece, and Sakuraco all in one MisoHungrie video--literally so many of my favorite things in one place lol (but seriously, those Sakuraco boxes are tasty, I've been getting them for about a year, but now I'm tempted to try the TokyoTreat ones too). I keep meaning to try this curry recipe since I have the cookbook, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. This seems like a good excuse to finally make it! Loved the video as always!!

      Thank you! Yeah the recipe is definitely worth a try. And yes the Sakuraco box was fantastic! But for me I actually like the TokyoTeat box more because I'm a sucker for KitKat and Pocky. Also love the ramen they included so it's right up my alley. Highly recommended! 👍

    Curry is so underrated by those around me. Nothing beats a bite of plain white rice covered with a bite of curry. It would probably be my last meal. Some thai yellow curry, some japanese curry, some indian curry.

    I know many people like sweet curries. To me I'm not a fan, because to me it makes the whole dish too sweet and it spikes my blood sugar. I always make it super savory and spicy, I gonna switch the honey for spicy peppers and I'll be happy with it.
