Well to be honest, I read the history behind the creation of this character and the motivation was to make the comic more "diverse". The story was also very similar to Peter Parker's so I don't really see why that was better than the current Marvel bullshit. I guess they didn't need to "put a chick in it and make her gay as fuck and lame" at least, but it was the beginning of this revisionist trend, so that probably makes it an even worst offender. At least it was popular, (although controversial), only proving that fans didn't really care what race Spider-man is, which in turn proves the whole woke movement never achieved anything. I don't believe wokes ever succeeded in turning even one racist person into a non racist one. I do believe they created a new brand of anti white racists though, and probably created a bunch of classic white racists that weren't in the first place.
@@acharat6 I get your point. But diversity isn't same thing as replacing people. Morales can have similar backstory, he's still not Peter Parker. He's created to be Morales. The reasons behind his creation, i could rejoin your reasoning. But, there is a difference between having a black Ariel with exact same origin as the original white Ariel for example, and a character being created to be a "black comparison" to another character as Peter Parker. Including copy paste character trough different skin color because of diversity, that's maybe political diversity reason, but if the character itself is well developed, that's still a character that can grow up from its own story. That's not like changing the name but using exact same story, or worse, using same name but changing ethnicity, obviously, trough diversity claim. Being woke, that's not being diverse. And being diverse doesn't mean having similarities but other appearance means woke. In the end, the woke movement is so stupid they don't even understand what being racist means, but call everyone racist in the end, the moment they dislike a woke race swap. But i would say the character of Morales was created because of woke agenda, and is woke by definition. One of the problem with woke, among the obvious ones, it's the fact it applies so often everywhere nowadays, every situation where you see "diversity" became fucked by it, beyond even being diverse for the reason of being diverse. I would put an analogy here: at my working place (i am since 17 years), with an average amount of 20 persons involved from all departments, we had 6 dudes called Sebastian since i'm in. 6/20, 30% sharing same name. (not really this number statistically, but you get it). But, that's just coincidences. We don't target "Sebastian names"... And if suddenly, we don't have a "Sebastian" in our crew anymore, that doesn't mean it's because of diversity woke claim. Again, that's just an image. My point is, woke is specifically something MADE to REPLACE some characters. Creating diverse ones, that's not the same thing.
@@mang4260 EXACTLY. If they want to develop non white and/or non male characters to add to an existing story or storyline, few will have an issue with it if they actually bother to CREATE and develop the character. Disney has actually done that in the past and the characters and movies were well received. I've never heard anyone who didn't like Moana because she's not white. At the same time, would it be acceptable to suddenly change Moana to a white female? Of course not, yet Disney has chosen to make Ariel black, yet they wonder why people reject it. Imagine recasting Black Panther as a white guy. Not only would there be outrage, it would be rejected because Black Panther is NOT white. It's inexcusably lazy to change the race of a character just for the sake of diversity at the very least when it would be VERY easy to create a new character. Not only would it make more sense, it would be a lot more interesting. Imagine creating a black mermaid who is one of Ariel's best friends and building a full story around that character? Hell, you could even leave Ariel out of it completely and just create a whole new story around the new character. There's a reason they don't do any of that. They're more interested in political activism than actually making good movies, and they're tanking as a result. Disney deserves it.
Diversity is a nice word for saying we dont want white characters. Thats it. If a black man creates black super heroes thats perfectly fine, just like a white man would make them white and a Japanese man would make them Japanese. Because its their story and an artist should be able to create whatever he wants. Its nobodys bussiness to put gender or racial quotas in works of fiction.
I love that Disney is mad at them for this and Trey and Matt said they already have two follow up episodes for this and a string of many more about Disney.

I had a friend who was a small business owner. He said you cannot create a vacuum as a business, you can only fill one. Disney doesn’t understand this simple part of business.
Miles Morales is a character with his own good story, made 13-years-ago, with his own struggles and accomplishments, his own strengths and weaknesses, and everyone loves him. He’s far more than just “Spider-Man if he was black and from Brooklyn”. They all looks at the successful diverse character and then only focused on the fact they are diverse, failing to realize that diversity is not what makes them so successful (or at least is not a major part of it)

He really had no choice. Disney was merely the company least likely to mess that much with his life’s work. Plus, Lucasfilm had worked with Disney plenty of times in the past on projects.
It's bad in the UK too! Every quiz/panel show has to have black/alphabet contestants. Ever soap and drama has to have mixed race families and alphabet children. Current affairs and sports exactly the same. Groups that make up 5% of the population must be on 95% of programmes.

I watched the original Snow White as a child. It was the first Disney movie that I watched at age eight. My mom passed away two years ago because of cancer. Missing with a memory of seeing Snow White as a kid is a huge mistake on Disney's part. 😢
The Disney animated Snow White was made back in 1937. It can only help Disney to make any Snow White reboot different in some way, considering how many adaptations of Snow White exist, but Disney just is creatively lazy and no good new ideas.
Agreed. They made an entire special which focused on how lazy we are. Randy does everything he can to not fix a door hinge, Kennedy refuses to create new and exciting characters, and Cartman just blames everything on wokeness. All are lazy, yet Matt and Trey took the time to create a special that resonates with your average hard-working joe. That is good witting, animating, performing, and advertising.

I loved how they did also include a plot line to point out there are some troll that are going to hate the movies no matter what but that doesn’t mean that the fair criticism isn’t warranted
I do love the fact that they talked about miles morales being a constructed character from the comics instead of just making peter parker diverse
At least it was popular,
(although controversial), only proving that fans didn't really care what race Spider-man is, which in turn proves the whole woke movement never achieved anything. I don't believe wokes ever succeeded in turning even one racist person into a non racist one. I do believe they created a new brand of anti white racists though, and probably created a bunch of classic white racists that weren't in the first place.
@@acharat6
I get your point.
