Everything looks so fresh & beautiful! Them purple avocados got my mouth watering, haven't had a taste of those for over 20 yrs....omg the seafood looks so good too! 😢
Fantastic, love your channel. I wish we had a market like that in London. Still with a little effort most Caribbean ingredients can be found here and i've enjoyed making some of your great recipes. I'm white English but falling in love with your delicious food
That was a fantastically fun video. In the USA we have outdoor markets like that, but very, very few have the incredible diversity of your market there. Thanks for posting.
You making me miss home in de islands man! The vibrant colors of all the fresh vegetables jumping off the screen they so bright in colors. Ah man i was in love with that huge pile of Conch when you stopped by it. All that SaltFish at 10:57 yea man. All the best fish and seafood are all in the Tropics. Really awesome that you took us all to the market with the video. Big Thumbs Up!
omg i loved this video i love going to the market we have farmers market in the summer i try to go every weekend this reminded me of last summer so relaxing and enjoyable
Chris, excellent. I love the markets in the Caribbean and the interaction with the people. But may I suggest that you slow your pan down. I know you want to get everything in but it makes it more interesting when the viewers can see it. Keep up the good work.
caribbeanpot You should. you will love everywhere you go. and when you do, visit the market places and local places cos that's where the real culture is.
That looked like Marabella market..the conch and everything else looked sooo fresh. How come we in San Juan don't have avocadoes as yet. We really have it nice in the Caribbean 👍👍
Hi Chris I was going to say Penal Market but! I don't think so. Thanks for the video great to hear and see the hustle and bustle brought back fun memories ... My mom would Always buy doubles for me on the way out of the market. 🇹🇹
Sorry, not Penal.. to be honest I've only been penal 2 times in all my life. Once to play colts cricket and the other for food. However that can definitely change if I know where/when the market is
Hey Chris, are you planning on showing us you cooking some of those fresh produces. That would be lovely especially the seafood. I can almost takes tge freshness in my mouth with all thoses wonderful herbs and spices. Im Jamaican and we love our steam fish. Thanks for the video we share similar market style in the Caribbean.
definitely.. plus remember there are over 450 recipes on the website to test drive. Been to a similar market in Ochie a couple yrs back, unfortunately I was on vacation mode and didn't film things
Thank you for this video of the market.......I envisioned the different smells...lol....especially when you went by the fish! Loved it, one of my favorite outings as a child n a Saturday a.m. or after church on Sunday ...where the puddding man tho?
Hi. I really enjoyed watching your Channel. Market on Sun, instead of worshipping our Awesome God anď give him thanks? Please let's take another day to sell our goods. May Almighty God continues to Bless us all. Thanks!
when I first saw the intro at 00:01 I thought it was the San Fernando market, then when I saw those red beams and galvanised roof at 3:00 I'm sure it's the Marabella market, the fish section was a dead giveaway as well.
Nice things in the market Chris can you tell me where this market is in Trinidad..and I like everything that you cook .I made 1 our 2 things from your video .I'm also from trini. but living in the U S A.....love you Chris and GOD bless you and your. Family...by .... for now ...
Alyooooooooooo! Nice water mellon alyo, nice crab alyo, fresh fish alyo. All goodness in this market alyo. Come and get your fresh produce alyo. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂#marketlife #caribbeanlife
This is a market in 2017 Trinidad? I thought they had laws about keeping meat on ice? I could have sworn I heard something like that about Chaguanas market. Anyway, I hope vendors start using ice soon.
Whoa - this is where i do market but on a Saturday. Cannot stand the Sunday hustle and bustle. Less vendors, same price but better quality on a Saturday. Yep - that's Marabella market. It's a lot lot cleaner than most markets in Trinidad. Sunday is when all the vendors try to sell the remainder of their goods since most of them don't sell during the week. You tend to get fresher stuff on a Friday and Saturday.
St Thomas.. wanted to visit this last carnival..soon. Shes cutting the green mangoes, which are sold (probably by the pound) to people for making curry mango. A spicy mango side dish, loaded with garlic, masalla, peppers and brown sugar. So it's a sort of spicy, sweet dish. Others buy it to dry and make something called Mango Amchar.
Thanks for the info. I accustomed to eating mango whole, not in pieces that's why i asked. I got to take a trip to T&T mehson for real. BTW...Big Up Destra and Farmers Nappy for me.
Hi Chris .. please let me know which foods are in 2:50 & 4:54 .. also why were there small fishes swimming in bags of water ? Are they to be brought as pets or food 🙈🙈 .. the market is completely different to the ones in London! Scotch bonnets laid out in heaps and the other exotic foods 🙋🏽 thank you for sharing was a great insight into my own culture not yet experienced!
Princess Powell 2:50 looks like local crabs and the other one looks like conch (large snale). I live in New England in the USA. We are bordered by the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Seafood is big here. I love conch but I have never seen so much at one time. It is so EXPENSIVE here.
caribbeanpot oh wow I haven't seen pet fish displayed like that in a market!! So different yet so interesting 😊 I wonder how the fish live without a filter or fresh water 🙈 thank you for replying Chris
I love conch (lambi) Chris you should definitely do a conch recipe (Haitian & Bahamian)... I know it's not the easiest to get but it will definitely be a delight!
Oh this brings so many memories of the markets back home in Mauritius.
so far apart, yet cultures so similar.
I miss home so much. We don't have beautiful open markets like this where I live in the States. Thank you for making these videos.
most welcome
Those avocados look like heaven!
This brings back great memories of my childhood in Trinidad. I remember going to San-Fernando Market every Saturday morning. Miss those days.
Everything looks so fresh & beautiful! Them purple avocados got my mouth watering, haven't had a taste of those for over 20 yrs....omg the seafood looks so good too! 😢

@caribbeanpot I was wondering if you know of any small organic farmers in the island that import fruits and vegetables to America.
I would have a bellyache if I go there, I'd be eating all the fruits I missed! 😂 Then another bellyache at dinner, but my heart would be happy! 😁

Greetings from St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Chris, can you please tell me what the hell this woman is doing to the mangoes @ 12:37 ?
