    Interesting. In some way, pretty realistic. Stalin wanted to wait and let Allies fight the Germans and later be the decisive player. Also, Greece had a strong communist movements, for example ELAS.
    However, some things don't fit.
    1. Hitler would never favor to invade Britain instead of USSR. Communism was always his greatest enemy.
    2. If it still happened, the borders would be way different. First of all, USSR would be bigger, would annex states like Poland and Czechoslovakia.
    Second part, Germany would retain some lands east of Oder-Neisse. And I think it would not be divided. Also, it would keep Austria.
    Yugoslav-Italian border would also be different, with more lands for Yugoslavia
    3. Communist movements in Italy and France. No, I don't think they would be so popular. De Gaulle was much better organised. I can imagine some civil war or east-west split, however.
    Italy, yes, had some significant communist movements, but southerners for instance would fight the Red Army or surrender to Allies. So Italy could also see a civil war or a north-south division.

    Although,a couple of things I need to ask
    1-did Germany and Italy avoided declaring war on US? Because,then I doubt that the Allies wouldn't land at Southern Italy,and Soviets overruning it so quickly,as the Partisan movement was mostly in the north. As well as the Normandy landing,which,I think would be just as successful as IRL,considering that Germany in panic throws all resources to the East.
    2-Post war map. Needs some more details,like,the allegiances of Nations on it,the German split explanation
    3-Why does Yugoslavia owns Albania? Wouldn't it be more logical to Unite Bulgaria and Yugo instead? Albania is not Slavic. And if Balkan Socialist Union vibes,then unite them all together.

      Germany and Italy avoid declaring war on Germany ??? 😅😅

    • @General-HD
      @General-HD  3 роки тому +14

      Sure thing
      1- I think you meant USA and yes they did, after the US declaration of war against Japan both Germany and Italy return the same
      respond to the US. Years later Italy is being invaded in the South and in the North which makes them forced to negotiate and join them against Germany. They let in the Soviets along with the Partisans into the country. Regarding the Allied amphibious assault on France, it certainly would be possible but still not an easy task to do just like in reality. The downside is that the battles over Britain goes on into 1942 and Germany would have beefed up its Western coastal defense since their focus was mostly on the West (North Africa too), this in general ensures the Atlantic Wall to be a strong defense and you can see at the end the last defenders remaining in those areas. My aim was to prevent this landing for this scenario and so I even made the war end a few weeks before the actual assault date.
      2- I didn't think it needed to be addressed that much but basically Bavaria and Saarland are "self" governing states (Communist most likely)
      and Stalin strengthens the alliance with the Western Communists by accepting Netherlands' annexation plan and giving France (maybe with Belgium)
      its own occupation zone in Germany, the rest under Soviet control.
      3- Albania have been influenced mostly by Yugoslavia and it wasn't that important for the Soviet Union, espacially now after "liberating"
      most of Europe. So Yugoslavia could annex Albania without interventions, but pushing for a unification with bulgaria might alarm the Soviet
      Union that Yugoslavia seeks a greater influence in Southern Europe. The post war map was created last days of the video for extra, it doesn't
      have to be accurate.
      I did read your other comment, thanks and sry for the late respond.

      The possibility is: Hitler didn't invade USSR. That's why it went like that. USSR was strengthening, while the war in Western Europe was going. i think this is well made but i do have a problem, the german army was stronger than the soviets, what gave the soviets an advatage is that they could keep and grow their army. if the soviet union invaded germany then they would be pushed back, maybe afterward statrting a counter attack ad defeating germany. you could make this with the only differance being D-day happened at callis and failed. other wise ad a key and this is great stuff.

    • @General-HD
      @General-HD  3 роки тому +11

      Thanks! There are other advantages for the Soviets in this alternate but overall Germany here isn’t the same Germany that invaded the Soviet Union, and they are the one who are caught by surprise and unprepared which is a different situation. It definitely would be a good idea to make a failed amphibious assault attempt on Calais/Normandy and prolong the war to the next year 1945 with the same outcome. I just decided instead to go for a greater Soviet victory with better combat capabilities, leadership and that could luckily end the conflict earlier, which is a more rare scenario.

      @@unrealisticfiction4182 Yes that’s true but once again, which path will it take after that change? Will it lead to 1944 ending like in this scenario or instead end in 1945 with a failed allied landing or perhaps even in some other completely different scenarios? These what-if scenarios are impossible to predict by nature because we don’t know exactly how things would have changed and affected the future. I opted for the first option since my intention was to present a bigger Soviet success. The fact is that it’s not just one thing that changes here since “History does not happen in a vacuum”, so it could go for any of the alternative but the circumstances just need to be right.

      1. Germany didn't declare war on the US

    A really high quality and entertaining video, sadly not really accurate. The Soviets wear down their oppontents like an iceberg and enflicting heavy losses on them while falling back in their homeland. The Blitzkrieg is only a german thing due to its encirclement and fear of two front wars. In my opinion the soviets would be stopped imedeatly by the far superior germans. Without the disaster in Russia, the germans would have all its manpower left. The soviet officer core was stuffed with complete morons, the germans could built up a defensive line at posen or the oder and would enflict severe damagt to the russians. I even think the germans would get some support of the west, because in the 40s communism was seen as a threat to the existence of western civilsation while many sympathised with the nazis in the us and england.

      Glad that you enjoyed it and I respect your opinion. It's understandable to conclude that it's not realistic, but that's because of how different it is from the actual event which is the case when comparing to an alternate. The German combat capability in this alternate doesn't have to be the same as to how it was, and the Soviets in this scene have the manpower, resources and better leadership.
      Btw it's a headquarter named Tannenberg and it's located in Germany near French & Swiss border.
