Sure felt that way every time I tried invading in the base game, except more often the host just hid and let the overleveled phantoms do everything. Then there is also the other side of the experience: Playing through the DLC blind casually (I.e without any meta gear or playstyles, just whatever we find in the DlC that feels fun to use) with a friend and getting our journey disrupted frequently enough to be annoying by invaders, especially by players with extremely powerful / spammy late game gear who kill us in a couple hits.
