Mi ídolo y buen amigo BROOKE ST JAMES (TYKETTO) participará en el nuevo álbum de ALGAR

Brooke St James me ha enviado este video desde Wisconsin, hablando de su participación en mi nuevo disco, para el que ha grabado un excelente solo de guitarra en una de sus canciones, en cuya producción también ha participado.
Conocí a Brooke como guitarrista y fundador de TYKETTO en una de sus visitas a Madrid hace ya 20 años, cuando me terminó de enamorar musicalmente viéndole actuar sobre el escenario. Desde entonces hemos mantenido el contacto y compartido algunas circunstancias personales desde la distancia, lo que ha hecho que, además de tener una gran admiración hacia él como músico, haya surgido una relación de afecto muy importante.
Quienes me conocen bien saben que, de las muchas grandísimas bandas de rock melódico que me encantan, hay 3 con las que crecí, escuchando sus casetes y volviéndome loco con su música y su estilo. Estoy hablando de TYKETTO, FIREHOUSE y SANGRE AZUL.
Siempre sentí algo muy especial escuchando a los músicos de estas bandas y sus discos de finales de los 80 y principios de los 90, y todos ellos fueron una grandísima influencia para mi, tanto a nivel compositivo como personal, y la forma de entender y vivir la música. Grupos tan diferentes entre si, cada uno con su toque personal, pero con muchos aspectos en común que confluían en grandes canciones repletas de fuerza, actitud, melodía, armonías, musicalidad… que hicieron que cayese totalmente rendido a este género musical.
En el caso de Brooke, fueron sus guitarras rítmicas, solos, el sonido de su fantástica Charvel y su estilo tan particular tocando las canciones de TYKETTO, los que hicieron que mi cabeza estallara en mil pedazos. Tres décadas después no logro sacar de mi cabeza riffs de temas como “Wings”, “Meet me in the night” o “Strenght in numbers” por citar solo algunos. Brooke también ha sido guitarrista de uno de mis cantantes favoritos; Steve Augeri, que grabó las voces del 3º disco de TYKETTO, y unos años más tarde ingresaría como vocalista en JOURNEY.
Me siento mucho más que afortunado de que tanto él, como Bill Leverty de FIREHOUSE y Juanjo Melero de SANGRE AZUL hayan colaborado en este trabajo tan personal, siendo mis 3 bandas más influyentes, y estoy muy agradecido a todos ellos y el resto de músicos que han participado en mi disco por el cariño y el respeto que han mostrado a mi música. Es mucho más que un sueño cumplido.

I met Brooke as a guitarist and founder of TYKETTO on one of his visits to Madrid 20 years ago, when he finished making me fall in love musically watching him perform on stage. Since then we´ve maintained contact and shared some personal circumstances from the distance, which has meant that, in addition to having great admiration for him as a musician, a very important relationship of affection has emerged.
Those who know me well know that, of the many great melodic rock bands that I love, there are 3 that I grew up with, listening to their cassettes and going crazy with their music and their style. I'm talking about TYKETTO, FIREHOUSE and SANGRE AZUL.
I always felt something very special listening to the musicians of these bands and their albums from the late 80s and early 90s, and all of them were a great influence on me, both on a compositional and personal level, and the way of understanding and living music. Groups so different from each other, each with their own personal touch, but with many aspects in common that came together in great songs full of strength, attitude, melody, harmonies, musicality... that made me fall completely in love with this musical genre.
In Brooke's case, it was his rhythm guitars, his solos, the sound of his fantastic Charvel and his unique style of playing TYKETTO songs that made my head explode into a thousand pieces. Three decades later I can't get riffs from songs like “Wings”, “Meet me in the night” or “Strength in numbers” out of my head, to name just a few. Brooke has also been a guitarist for one of my favorite singers; Steve Augeri, who recorded vocals on TYKETTO's 3rd album, and a few years later would join JOURNEY as a vocalist.
I feel much more than lucky that both he, Bill Leverty from FIREHOUSE and Juanjo Melero from SANGRE AZUL have collaborated on this very personal job, being my 3 most influential bands, and I´m very grateful to all of them and the rest of the musicians who have participated in my album because of the affection and respect they´ve shown to my music. It´s much more than a dream come true.
