In single dose scenario DF83 is just a little bit faster but not much. It's noticeable that the majority of grinding was done in the first 15 seconds and the rest was waiting for the remaining grinds to clear out. If large size hopper is used I think DF83 is much faster.
Same thing that put me off from getting one for myself. Way too slow for a 550W 83mm burr grinder. Hope the V2 aDdresses and recrifies that in the future.
I’ve seen other videos where the DF83 was faster. My Mazzer with the same rpm and burr size takes about 8-10 seconds for espresso.
This is true, my DF83 takes 8 seconds to grind a 22 gram dose. That is with SSP HU Burrs.
How can 83mm burrs not grind faster, I was really considering buying the DF83 but this is interesting.

Why do you need speed in single dose home prosumer grinder?
@@Val_Smith Good point. I don't but I think some people are just curious.
@@miicoffee I watched videos on grinders with variable RPM, and the quality drops down if cross certain thresholds
How do you compare the coffee taste between the two?
DF83 more clarity and DF64 more body
@@miicoffee have you tried 83mm hu and 64mm hu if so any difference?
@@navidqowsi5618 If you add milk to espresso e.g. latte I would choose 64mm HU or wait for 83mm Lab Sweet. 83 Lab Sweet is coming next month.
