The ending was pretty funny. I watched this video because the parts list says two long bolts are included which I assumed would be for the handle. Well they were not included. No mention of different size bolts for the handle in your video so maybe I’ll be OK if I start this assembly.
So I have the same cart. Just finished putting it together. My lid will not stay shut unless it is locked. Shocks are installed correctly also. Any suggestions??
where is the repair video that you mentioned during this how-to? my left side drawers won't open either.

best way to put the top box on the uprights (without help) is to lay it down on it's back, slide it together 1 bolt per corner stand it back up finish assembly
4-6-22. Being a 120 lb. 5’-3’ woman this was the only way I could build this by myself, and it worked beautifully, building it on the floor and sliding it in and around the toolbox worked great! April 6, 2022 purchased. Helpful note: Just be careful to make sure the tiny overlap flange on the top rim of the toolbox overlaps the corners at each top of leg. If you forget to do this then simply loosen the bolts and pull the flange to sit on top and over the legs at the corners. It’s a beautiful box!

By the way, my model was a newer model with more bolts, but still works the same.

@@durpydurp7497 Before Covid I was a regular at HF. I was on top of their promos. But at times it was frustrating, in a week to 9 days they could have 3 different prices on an item. I have most of what I need but if there is a good promo, well you can never have too many tools. LOL

The “longer bolts” mentioned in the parts list but not provided were in fact not needed. Handle went on fine with the same bolts used on the side rails.
Why isn’t mine sitting in the cross brace bars?

A magnetic tool bar. I was trying it to see if it would help me hold the bolts in giving me another free hand.

Unfortunately, since the higher tariffs on Chinese made stuff came into effect, all the prices are a little higher than they used to be. Still pretty good deals but definitely not as good as they were.
I bet he's right about the tariffs, but I got mine on Black Friday for $99.
Now "on sale" for $149.99 (6/2020). STILL not a bad deal, and bottom is now reinforced!
Arrrrgh! Just received by 4 drawer cart, and yes the left side drawer lock is stuck and the 3 drawers won't open except the one on the right. HF has no solution, and I'm not seeing the video you mention with the fix. They have no more available to ship for 3 months from today, and so while they will gladly send me a label to return, I'd really like to know how you fixed it!!! I just want it to work! BTW the drawer lock moves up and down, and the spring action is functional, but will not open except the small right side drawer, so exact same problem you had.

OK, so I figured it out. I was able to get one drawer out and see the piece that's supposed to slide up was not moving when the lid was opened on the left side.
So, I turned the whole chest upside down on a card table with the lid open and leaving room for the spring loaded rods to go up or rather down with whole chest inverted. The lock lifted or rather dropped thanks to the force of gravity, and I was able to get the drawers open and out. And sure enough, there was a loose nut and washer. Incidentally to get the drawers out, you push the plastic locks on the drawer sliders one up and the other down.
To reinstall the lock slider to the rod, I laid the chest on it's side, undid the 2 bolts that go through to the inside of the chest, then you can remove the rod, pull the slider all the way up, put the washer and thread the 8mm nut and tighten with a 8mm socket, universal and 1/4" ratchet. The locking slider was bent on top on mine, and there was not much threads sticking up, but there's another nut to adjust on the other side.
Likely it being bent was the reason the nut fell off if it was ever attached or just barely attached.
Anyway, adjusted the nut a little, bent the piece back, reattached. It works now..
And of course put thread locker on the bolts to not have to do it again. EVER hopefully.
Ok so where was I. Really not liking the rubber detents. Hmmmm. Another day.

@@jeffwiggins3351 So, as it turns out HF has 2 different lock setups on the drawers on this box. One is the rods, which we've been discussing, and other is rectangular metal tubes. That's what I see when I go to harbor freight. But I also see vids on you tube from years gone by with the box tubes.
So what gives? Why are there 2? When did they switch over? I had mine shipped, so it came from a warehouse vs the store. BTW they won't ship the 5 drawer or I would have gotten it but they did ship this one, only 20 bucks, which they refunded due to my problem. So are they receiving 2 different kinds or did I just get old stock with a design that's since been updated? That would suck. BTW love love love my new tool box!
