Building this kit now. It's a great set but I really hated building the long girder/cage part on the top and the cage around the areas behind the cockpit and in front of the engines were really frustrating. Ridiculous trying to glue each strut and trying to hold it all together. Wish they would have made those areas with less pieces. So far it's looking nice. I definitely think the weathering is the key to making this really stand out. I really like how yours tuned out! Really great job!
Re: Letraset, there are online companies that will make just about any sort of dry transfer that one could wish. The client creates his artwork, then sends it as a PDF file. The prices begin at under a hundred bucks.
On Apollo 17, they had a lot of scientific instruments to set up, and at one point, CapCom passed up a request from the scientists to keep dust out of the connectors, and both astronauts, Gene Cernan and Jack Schmitt, burst out laughing. There was dust everywhere! There is a picture of Gene in the Lunar Module, with most of his spacesuit on but helmet, gloves and boots off... and his "white" spacesuit outer layer is filthy. Apollo 17 spent three whole days on the moon.
Yeah, I did think about that, I need to rummage through my Ammo powders collection, and I may well add them before it is finished, once the feets and thrusters are on :)
How could you possibly believe we don't watch this till the very last second??? Heck, I even managed to read the credit scroll once. I actually play the intro again after watching it - I love it so much. It's one of the things got me subscribing! This build has been hysterically entertaining from beginning to end. BTW, have you ever talked about the com unit; where you got it from or if you built it yourself?
Ha ha thanks ^_^ Actually, I never did mention the commlock, I should show it in the next (hopefully last) episode. I made it especially for this series, It's a resin kit :)
Surprised there's no kitchen sink Letraset graphic on there (it's got everything else). I worked for Artworker back in the day, before I went to art college and we sold a ton of Data 70 and Microgramma to someone in Bray... I wonder...hmmmm, lol.
thewuf I can neither confirm nor deny I was off my face on screech when I rang Foxx on the commlock and did the subtitles for the lad. *was TOTALLY off my face at the time \o/
Really enjoy your channel but you skip over alot of the stuff I think you should be showing and just jabbering on about things really basic. You do repeat yourself a bit much.....still love your channel and your vids. I remember watching the show and couldn't wait to get my hands on the Eagle and build it. This special edition kit is so awesome and you have done a great job. I'm an old git as well so crack on mate 👍👍🍻🍻
Love the accupella intro ! This I agree is a great kit one of my favorites!
Wow! One of your best builds to date!
Thanks! Still a bit to do though :)
Not that I am dating myself, but I used to love that show. And nice build.

Say I was just wondering are you using the kit springs for the landing gear I have heard that the kit springs are to stiff .

Looking great Fox,did you ever consider using pigments to weather this ship,?
There must be something that looks like moondust surely.

You want a charcoal-type pigment.
Just buy a bag of stone dust from a builders merchant

Some of us do watch right until the end, some of us stopped watching after the 6th episode because we are not used to more.

RE: re-entry heat scoring, If it's not on the models in the tv show, don't do it.
